Empirical Characterization of an Air-cored Induction Coil Sensor using Constructional Parameters (Air-cored induction 코일 센서의 실험 기반 고주파 특성 모델링에 대한 연구)

  • This paper presents empirical equations indicating the high frequency performance characteristics of air-cored induction coil sensors with their constructional parameters. An air-cored induction coil sensor is widely used due to good linearity at low frequency ranges but the sensor has weakness of relatively low sensitivity to the magnetic field. At high frequency ranges, the sensitivity can be dramatically increased, largely depending on the frequency of the injected field, and this property can be a great asset to some electromagnetic inspections, since they utilize the interrogating current with a fixed frequency. The application of this property of the coil sensor requires the estimation of its high frequency performance. We made experiments on the frequency responses of the coil sensors under diverse constructional conditions and, on the basis of the experimental results, the high frequency performance, such as the resonant frequency and the sensitivity at the frequency, was estimated, as a function of the constructional parameters of the coil sensor. The good agreements between experimental and estimated data were reported.

  • The coils to transmit the electric energy are necessary to charge an electric vehicle wirelessly. There are several types of coils, from basic circular coils to DD-type coils for enhancing the coupling effect between two coils. However, DD-type coils with a good coupling effect between coils have a disadvantage in use because of the structure complexity of the power conversion device of transmitting and receiving side. In this paper, we propose a method to calculate the inductance value and to design the size of the spiral inductor which is convenient to fabricate when the power is transmitted wirelessly by using two coils in free space. Since the bifurcation phenomenon occurs when the XLm value is similar to the load resistance value in the resonator the XLm value was selected to be equal to the minimum load resistance value to minimize this phenomenon, and the inductance value required for the resonator was calculated. In order to realize the calculated inductance value by the spiral inductor, the relationship between the inductance value and the size, the number of turns, the total coil length of a spiral inductor was investigated. In addition, the change of coupling coefficient k according to the horizontal separation of two coils was examined and an appropriate inductor was selected.

Effect of Induction of Electromagnetic Field by Partitioned Coils on Fracture Energy of Steel Fiber Reinforced Mortar (분할된 코일을 이용한 전자기장 유도가 강섬유보강몰탈의 파괴에너지에 미치는 영향)

  • In this experimental study, the effect of continuously changing the position of electromagnetic force using several coils and a relay switch on fracture energy was investigated. Normal mortar and steel slag mortar specimens in which 50 % and 100 % of sand was replaced with steel slag were cast and exposed to electromagnetic field. The electric field was induced by one coil without a relay switch as an existing method and by partitioning the coil and continuously changing the position using a relay switch. The fracture energy was calculated from the load-vertical displacement curve obtained from the experiment and compared with each other. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the method of partitioning the coil and changing the position of electromagnetic force by using a relay switch is effective in increasing the fracture energy even if the same amount of power is used.

  • We derive an equation that predicts the induced voltage across the receiving terminals of the three-coil head of a metal detector using a magnetic vector potential approach. We also derive an equation that relates the change of the impedance of the transmitting coil to the properties of the metal. We utilize the results to obtain the optimum spacing between the driving and the receiving coils at which the maximum induced voltage is attained. Further, we determine the position of the metallic object where the voltage reaches its peak. We verify our work by comparing the results with those of a previous work.

A Magnetic Resonant Coil for Enhancement of Wireless Power Transfer Efficiency of NFC devices (근접 통신 단말의 무선 전력 전송 효율 향상을 위한 자기 공진코일 시스템)

  • A magnetic resonant coil system for enhancement of wireless power transfer efficiency of NFC devices was proposed. The NFC system consists of resonant coils arrange between source coil and device coil. The effects of resonant coil was measured using a 13.56MHz RFID reader and tag system and simulated by 3D RF simulator. The measurement results from RFID reader and tag show that the maximum distance of signal transmission is increased by 96.72% and received voltage of RFID tag is grew by 17.95% thanks to the magnetic resonant coils.

  • 변압기는 권선방법에 따라 많은 특성의 변화를 나타내게 되는데 일반적인 동선의 권선법과 코일형태로 동판을 가공하여 사용하는 평면 권선방법, 그리고 고전류용 변압기에 이용되는 것으로 코어의 권선창 표면을 감싸는 형태의 관형 권선방법의 3가지의 코일 형태 또는 권선방법에 따른 변압기의 특성 변화와 컨버터에 채용되었을 때의 전력효율에 대하여 고찰하였다. 평면 코일을 이용한 변압기는 높은 코일간의 결합도로 인해 가장 낮은 누설인덕턴스와 가장 높은 성능지수 및 결합계수를 나타내었고, 관형코일을 이용한 변압기는 높은 누설특성으로 인해 가장 낮은 성능지수와 결합계수를 나타내었다. 그리고 이들을 DC-DC 컨버터에 채용하여 분석한 결과 평면변압기가 가장 높은 효율을 발휘하였다. 관형변압기는 저전력에서는 높은 누설량으로 인해 효율이 상대적으로 낮지만 출력전력이 증가할수록 상승하는 발열량에 대한 방열효과가 높아 효율의 감소폭이 작아서 고주파 또는 대전류용 변압기 응용이 기대된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 스퍼터된 원자의 이온화율을 높여 스퍼터링 효율 및 증착된 박막의 특성을 향상시킬 목적으로, 스퍼터 타깃과 기판사이에 보조 전자기코일을 부가하였다. 실험결과, 보조 전자기 코일을 통해 전자장 분포를 제어함으로 인해 스퍼터링 효율 및 박막의 증착 균일도를 동시에 향상시킬 수 있었으며, 나아가 입사이온의 증가로 인해 증착된 박막의 특성도 향상됨을 예상할 수 있었다.

  • This paper presents a new method of detecting rotor position in Toroidal Switched Reluctance Motor(TSRM). In this paper, low cost and robust characteristics of rotor position detection method are focused in order to compensate for disadvantage of existing sensors. Search coils wound around stator poles are used for detection of rotor position in TSRM. Rotor position detection is achieved through electromotive force patterns induced by time-varying flux linkage in the search coils and then adequate phase is excited for drive. The validity of the method is verified by experimental results.

온라인 전기 자동차용 초박형의 U 형 및 W 형 급집전 장치 개발

  • 일반도로에서 주행 가능한 온라인전기자동차(On-Line Electric Vehicles)에 적용하기 위해 비접촉 자기유도 전력전달 방식의 초박형 급전코일과 집전코일을 개발하였다. 이러한 새로운 구조의 초박형 급집전코일은 코어비용을 대폭 절감하고 공극간격을 크게 해주며 차량 좌우편차를 크게 하여, OLEV가 경제적이면서도 성능이 탁월하게 하였다. 그 결과 양산단가 3억원/km 이하이면 서도 공극간격 17cm 이상, 효율 83%이상, 출력 60kW이상 등을 보여 실용화에 근접했다는 평가를 받고있다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 두 가지 방식 급집전코일의 주요 동작특성을 자기장 시뮬레이션 등을 통하여 검증하였다.

  • This study is conducted to develop the high frequency inductor with ferro-yoke for the surface shape control. A 3- Dimensional simulation program based on the finite element method is developed for calculating electromagnetic field of the high frequency inductor. The validity of the program and the capability to control the liquid metal shape are confirmed by comparison between the results from calculation and those from measurement.
