  • Culture is like living organisms based on local and history. Therefore, we don't understand the whole phase of the culture if we neglect the information of the time and space. In this paper, we describe a preliminary study building of a 3D electronic cultural atlas about the national education center for Korean traditional music.

A Study on the Application of Copyright for Digital Maps in Korea (우리나라 수치지도의 저작권 적용방안에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest concrete approaches of copyright application among various map price policies to establish the system of a digital map market, to revitalize its market, and to give the public better map services. To do this, we analyzed copyright law in Korea and the copyright protection of digital map in foreign countries firstly, investigated the applicability of copyright to the map market in Korea, analyzed the effect on this market, and suggested an direction of the revision for the Surveying law and the National Geographic Information (NGlS) law lastly. We drew several conclusions. Firstly, the protection of the rights of database makers is the best approach to protect digital maps in korea. Secondly, we need to adopt copyright to the Surveying law and the National Geographic Information Systems (NGlS) law. Lastly, establishing a copyright trust organization to improve the quality of digital maps and to manage various affairs is needed.

  • 컴퓨터와 통신 기술의 급소간 발전으로 이동 매체를 통한 정보 서비스 요구가 급증하고 있다. 이 중에서 이동 매체를 통한 전자 지도 서비스는 전송 정보의 용량이 크고 출력 장치의 resource를 많이 요구하기 때문에 이를 극복하기 위한 연구가 필요하다. 이 논문에서는 무선 지도 서비스 환경의 bandwidth 제약 조건과 resource 제약 조건을 새로이 정의하고 이를 해결하는 동적 약도 생성 기법을 소개한다. 본 논문은 resource 제약 조건을 해결하기 위해 지도 정확성의 기준을 완화하여 재 정의한 generalization 기법을 도입하며, bandwidth 제약 조건을 해결하기 위해 설정된 threshold 값을 만족하는 filtering 기법을 제안 및 설계 구현한다.

  • 본 논문은 옥내측위 결과에 지도정합 방법을 적용하는 실험 결과를 소개한다. 사용한 지도정합 방법은 측위 결과로 얻은 측정 궤적에 칼만필터를 적용하여 매끄러운 칼만필터궤적을 얻은 다음, 칼만필터궤적과 이산크레쉐거리가 가장 가까운 보행자 통로로 정합한다. 사용한 지도정합 방법의 효율성을 보이는 실험 결과도 소개한다.

  • This study aims to develop the Vehicle Local Dynamic Map (V-LDM) and demonstrate its performance for providing dynamic map data efficiently to the vehicle control module. Firstly, the concept of the in-vehicle LDM has been established and then the system has been carefully designed according to the international standards. The high-precision digital map embedded in LDM has been designed to incorporate the lane-level information of road network, and the Dynamic Map protocol (DM protocol) which is a message protocol including the road data with dynamic traffic event data has been defined. The performance test of the proposed system has been conducted in the uninterrupted road section of Kyungbu expressway, showing that both of the data size and the elapsed time to finish the process are almost linearly proportional to the length of target road. Finally, it is recommended that the length of target road for DM protocol be less than 250m.

Map Segmentation Using Adaptive Smoothing Filter (적응성 평활화 필터를 이용한 기존 지도에서의 영역 추출)

  • Adaptive smoothing filter is a filter that averages out the intensities around the pixels of similar intensities while conserving the discontinuties. When human eyes rec-ognize a map, the brain can easily assign one color for each element such as road or building while computer distinguishes all the minute color differences even for one ele¬ment. We can approach to the solution by using the adaptive smoothing filter so that the machine can assign one color for each element as much as we want, and it is found to be a very essential tool foor map segmentation of urban areas. The filter is applied to a scanned map, and it is used to extract roads and residential areas.
