Design of Digital Controllers with Self-Validating Intelligent Sensors (Self-Validating 지능형 센서를 사용한 디지털 제어기의 설계)

  • We are concerned with processing methods of the measurement values of sensors in the control system. When some faults happen to sensor components, the measurement value of sensors cause the malfunction of the plant. So it is necessary to detect and reduce the influence of faults to control with reliability for the overall system. The sensor status must be always good for best demonstration of the controller performance. A self-validating sensor detects the sensor state from the measurement value, reconstruct a soft sensor and can improve reliability of the sensor. If sensor faults, the sensor is detected and reconstructed with the best estimate from its correlation to other sensors and historical data. It is applied to the control of a flexible link system with the sensor fault problems in the light sensor module for position to show the applicability. In this paper, we propose a digital controller which reduces deflection of the moving set-point by reconstructing output of a sensor when the sensor fault is detected.

  • In order to detect very short electromagnetic pulses (EMP) with picosecond width, a receiving antenna with a wide bandwidth and good sensitivity over several GHz is needed. In this paper, the receiving characteristics of various thin wire monopole (or dipole) antennas with nonreflecting resistive loading are analyzed for determining the optimum configurations. This study also indicates that it is possible to choose an ideal load impedance for achieving the required fidelity and sensitivity. The analysis is facilitated by introducing the frequency transfer function.

  • This paper proposes a sensorless velocity estimator using the reduced-order state equation of induction motor based on Kalman Filter. The electrical transients in the stator voltage equations of induction motor are neglected in the reduced-order model. The advantage of using the reduced-order model is to reduce the required number of numerical integrations for filtering the rotor speed. As changing the operating points and the parameters of the induction motor in simulation studies, the behavior of the sensorless velocity estimator as predicted by the reduced-order state equation of induction machine is compared with the behavior predicted by the complete state equation of induction machine.

  • Speed and torque controls of permanent magnet synchronous motors are usually attained by the application of position and speed sensors. However, speed and position sensors require the additional mounting space, reduce the reliability in harsh environments and increase the cost of a motor. Therefore, many studies have been performed for the elimination of speed and position sensors. This paper investigates an Improved sliding mode observer for the speed sensorless control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The proposed control strategy is the sliding mode observer with a variable boundary layer for a low-chattering and fast-reponse control. The proposed algorithm is verified through the simulation and experimentation.

  • A sensorless velocity control strategy for permanent magnet synchronous motors is presented in this paper. Two stator currents are measured and processed in discrete form in DSP. The rotor position and speed are estimated through the stator flux linkage and its derivative estimation. Flux and its derivative are calculated in the stationary reference frame and used to estimate the speed and position. The closed-loop speed control has been shown to be effective from standstill to rated speed. Moreover, a flux drift problem caused by the integration can be eliminated so that a stable sensorless starting and running operation can be achieved. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • In a conventional speed sensorless Stator Flux Oriented(SFO) induction machine drive system, the estimated speed is delayed in transients by the use of a low pass filter(LPF). To prevent extreme overshoot caused by this delay, PI controller gains should be small, which consequently is greatly affected by disturbance torque. In this paper, by taking advantage of disturbance torque observer and feedforward control, robust speed controller is designed for speed sensorless SFO system. The proposed method is verified by the simulation results.

  • 본 논문은 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널(PDP) 전원공급 장치로 사용되는 DC-DC 컨버터의 동적 응답특성을 향상 시킬 수 있는 새로운 디지털 제어 알고리즘을 서술한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 PDP에 영상을 표시하기 위한 영상 입력신호와 구동회로의 유지방전 파형의 제어를 위한 신호를 이용하여 부하전류의 변화량과 시점을 예측한다. 별도의 추가적인 전류센서를 사용하지 않고 예측된 부하전류 정보는 일반적인 디지털 전압 제어기에 피드포$\sim$워드 형태로 추가되어 적용된다. 제안된 알고리즘은 디지털 Pl 전압 제어기만을 사용한 경우에 비해 부하전류가 급격히 변동할 때 좀 더 빠른 응답특성과 낮은 출력전압 변동 특성을 보인다. 제안된 알고리즘은 FPGA를 사용하여 구현 되었으며, Buck 컨버터를 사용하여 기본 동작을 검증하였다.

  • The iterative sliding mode observer is proposed to control sensorless PMSM(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor). Proposed sliding mode observer has the character which is robust to the disturbance and parameter variation. Low pass filter with the variable cutoff frequency is also proposed to compensate rotor angle, it is led to saving memory and minimizing operation time. Experimental results shows that the proposed sliding mode observer leads to the proper performance.

  • 최근 활발하게 연구가 진행되고 있는 마이크로 인덕터는 자기 데이터 저장을 위한 헤드, 자기장 센서, 마이크로 변압기와 휴대폰의 수동 소자와 같은 다양한 분야에 이용되고 있다. 마이크로 인덕터를 제작하기 위해 UV-LIGA 공정을 개발하였다. 도금 공정을 이용하여 마이크로 인덕터의 철심과 구리선 제작하였다. 도금 공정을 위해 필요한 마이크로 몰드는 여러 종류의 thick photoresist를 이용하여 저응력 공정으로 제작하였다. 도금 공정을 이용하여 toroid형 마이크로 인덕터를 제작하였다. 도금 공정에서 발생 할 수 있는 응력을 최소화할 수 있는 공정을 개발하였다.

  • An efficient sensing scheme adoptable in DC-DC converter is described. The output voltage of the whole DC-DC converter is fed back to the input voltage of the sensor. The comparison in the sensor is accomplished by a current push-pull action. With a fixed reference, the comparator can be embodied based on (W/L) ratios. The current-mode scheme benefits the system better than a conventional voltage-mode one in terms of small area, low power consumption.
