Variation of Dynamic Characteristics of Composite Plates Subjected to Electromagnetic and Thermal Fields via Piezoelectric Control (전자기장과 열하중을 받는 복합재료 평판의 압전제어에 따른 동특성 변화)

  • Structural model of laminated composite plate based on the first order shear deformation theory and subjected to a combination of piezoelectric, electromagnetic and thermal fields is established. Coupled equations of motion are derived via Hamilton's principle on the basis of electromagnetic and piezoelectric equations which are involved in constitutive equations. Proportional control and velocity feedback control logics are applied via boundary control moments and forces. Variations of dynamic chasracteristics of composite plate with collocated piezoelectric sensor and actuators, electromagnetic field and temperature gradient are investigated and it reveals that dynamic characteristics of structure can be effectively controlled by utilizing the piezoelectric effect and ply angles of fiber reinforced composites.

  • The demand for online education has rapidly increased due to the influence of COVID-19. One of the biggest challenges in engineering education is how to efficiently conduct experiments online. In this paper, for the virtual experimental system for microcontroller application that is essential for education in the field of electrical, electronic, and control engineering, we described the microcontroller functional modeling and implementation with Java language. The usefulness of the developed microcontroller module has been verified through educational field application.

음이온을 포함한 $E{\times}B$ 드리프트 운동 해석

  • 플라즈마 내에서 수직으로 인가된 전자계에서의 전자와 이온을 포함한 하전 입자들의 이동현상은 이미 널리 알려져 있다. 그러나 음이온이 존재하는 플라즈마에서의 하전입자들의 운동은 복잡하고 아직 충분히 해석되지 못하였다. 따라서 전기장 E와 자기장 B가 서로 수직으로 인가된 플라즈마 내에서 음이온을 포함한 하전 입자들의 운동에 대한 해석이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 플라즈마 공정에서 발생된 음이온의 운동을 이해하기 위해 E B 드리프트 운동을 이론적으로 계산하였다. 결과적으로 음이온의 $E{\times}B$ 드리프트 운동은 전자나 이온과는 반대 방향으로 이동을 하였고, 드리프트 속도는 홀 파라미터의 값에 따라 달라짐을 보였다. 따라서 서로 수직으로 인가된 전자기장에 의한 $E{\times}B$ 드리프트 운동을 통해 플라즈마의 방전 공간에서 음이온을 제어할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • The magneto-rheological fluid expresses different cohesiveness according to the strength of the external electric current. The magneto-rheological fluid damper, which uses such characteristics of the fluid, generates shear force due to the fluid's cohesiveness. The core can be said to determine the magneto-rheological fluid damper's performance. This study uses the finite element analysis to compare the performance of different electromagnetic forces, which are affected by the shapes of the coil, and thus to find the optimum design for the core. In addition, as a step to construct a high-efficient damper, we suggest a type of damper that can control multiple coils and compares the performance of this damper and that of the standard damper by comparing the performance of their electro-magnetic fields.

  • The recent explosion of data traffic, including cloud services, coupled with the Internet penetration has led to a surge in the need for ultra-fast optical networks that can efficiently connect the data center's reconfiguable resources. In this paper, the algorithms for controlling switching cell operation in the optical switch connection structure are proposed, and the resulting performance is compared and analyzed through simulation. Performance analysis results showed that the algorithm proposed in this paper has improved the probability of successful multi-connection setup by about 3 to 7% compared to the existing algorithm.

  • The electron beam machining provides very high resolution up to nanometer scale, hence the E-beam writing technology is rapidly growing in MEMS and nano-engineering areas. In the optical column of the e-beam writer, there are several lenses condensing and focusing electron beams from electron gun with fringing magnetic fields. To achieve small spot size as 1-2 nm for higher power of electron beam, magnetic lenses should be designed considering their magnetic field distribution. In this paper, the magnetic field at two condenser lenses and object lens are calculated with finite element method and discussed its performances.

Robust Electric Compass to Dynamic Magnetic Field Interference (동적간섭자기장에 강인한 전자컴파스)

  • The purpose of this research is to improve the reliability of automobile navigation system that utilizes the magnetic compass for localization. On account of its sensitiveness against the dynamic external interference of the magnetic field, the electronic compass itself is not accurate enough to be used for the localization compared to the gyro-compass. To overcome this shortcoming, in this research, a robust electronic compass is designed by using two magnetic compasses to cancel out the dynamic interences efficiently. That is, a dual compass predictive calibration algorithm against irregular external interference of magnetic field is newly proposed and implemented in this paper. When the dynamic interference can be eliminated from the electronic compass, it becomes much accurate than the gyro-based system that suffers from the accumulative drift error. The reliability and performance of the designed system have been verified through the real driving experiments.

  • 진공챔버,위생튜브등 정밀한 내면을 필요로 하는 경우 표면거칠기를 향상시키기 위한 방법으로 전해가공 및 수작업을 하는 경우가 대부분인데 이는 가공비가 비씨고 다듬질 시간이 많이 걸리는 등 매우 비경제적이다. 더구나 길이가 긴 관이나 구부러진 관의 내면은 기계적으로 다듬질이 매우 어렵다. 그러나 최근에 개발된 전자기장을 이용한 자력 연마가공법은 기존의 기계적인 가공법과는 달리 실제 가공을 행하는 공구부와 ㅣㅇ를 구동하는 구동부 사이에 공극을 허용하기 때문에 이를 이용하여 회전이 불가능한 곡관의 내면다듬질을 가능하게 하였다. 지금까지 연구들은 단순히 전자석 및 전원으로 이루어진 수동가공 시스템으로서 가공공정 자체의 특성파악에 집중되어 왔으나 자력연마법의 장점중의 하나인 다듬질 공정의 자동화 가능성을 실현시키기 위해서는 공정의 제어가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 이를 실현시키기 위한 기초연구로서 컴퓨터구동 회전자력연마가공 시스템을 개발하고 그 기본특성을 알아보기 위해 유한요소법을 이용하여 원형 요오크 및 여섯개의 자극에 대해 자력선의 분포를 알아보았다. 또한 이로부터 가공영역의 자속밀도를 계산하고 다듬질 가공을 가능케 하기위한 회전자화의 발생방법에 대해 고찰하였다.
