A Study on the Sterling Characteristics for Capacitor-run Single Phase Permanent Magent Synchronous Motor (커패시터 운전 단상 영구자석형 동기전동기 기동특성에 관한 연구)

  • Although permanent magnet single phase synchronous motor which starts and runs through single phase voltage source has high efficiency, it is difficult to determine the rotating direction. In this paper, the starting characteristics of the capacitor-run single phase synchronous motor has been studied. The stator has same structure with the capacitor-run single phase induction motor, however the rotor consists of permanent magnet. In this case, the starting conditions according to the rotor and stator conditions are determined and the direction of the motor can be determined. From these results, it is desired that the proposed motor can be applied to the loads like the fans which has low starting torque.

  • RThis paper presents a high voltage capacitor charging power supply(CCPS) using a series resonant inverter. The CCPS adopted a 45[kHz] IGBT series resonant inverter using PLL control and a high-efficiency, high-voltage transformer. The performance test of the CCPS was carried out with a 14 nF load capacitor at 100[kV] output voltage and 200[Hz] repetition rate. Peak power rate of 18.75[kJ/sec] and charging time of 4.5[mS].

  • Today, the sciences in medical and nursing fields are becoming progressively more dependent on electrical apparatus for the preservation of life of hospitalized patients. Therefore, it is required more safety medical power distribution system in order to protect patients and physicians more securely from unexpected leakage of current. Especially for the medically used rooms which use life sustaining equipment power should be provided as supplying continuously without interrupting with lowest leakage current. This thesis proposed the reason why Isolation Power System is safety through the circuit analysis and applications.

  • This paper presents the single-stage TSFC(Two-Switch Forward Converter). Recently, due to growing concern about the harmonic pollution of power distribution systems and the adoption of standards such as ICE 61000-3-2 and IEEE 519, There is a need to reduce the harmonic contests of AC line currents of power supplies. This research proposed the single-stage two switch forward circuit for low voltage and high current output. The principle of operation, feature and design considerations is illustrated and verified through the experiment with a 200[W](5[V], 40[A]) 100[kHz] MOSFET based experimental circuit.

  • The Neutral Beam Injection(NBI) generates ultra-high temperature energy in the tokamak of nuclear fusion. The NBI consists of filament power supply acceleration and deceleration power supply and arc power supply(APS). The APS has characteristics of low voltage and high current. APS generate arc through constant output of voltage and current. So this paper proposed suitable buck converter for low voltage and high current. The case of proposed buck converter used parallel switch because it can increase capacity and decrease conduction loss. When an arc is generated, the NBI chamber occur high voltage. And it will break output capacitor of buck converter. Therefore the output capacitor was removed in the proposed converter. Thus buck converter with constant output is the most important design of the output inductor. In this paper, designed APS verified operation of system and stability through simulation and prototype.

  • 전력계통의 환경변화(분산전원 연계, 구역전기사업자 출연 등)에 능동적으로 대응할 소비자-공급자간 양방향 통신/서비스 인프라의 핵심으로 Consumer Energy Portal의 필요성이 점점 증대되고 있다. 이는 에너지 서비스 사업자와 수용가 설비 및 기기들 사이의 양방향 통신을 가능하게 하는 H/W 및 S/W의 결합 또는 수용가의 In-Building Network와 Wide-Access Network를 연결하는 물리적인 Link이자 논리적인 결합 등과 같은 의미를 지닌다. 즉, Consumer Energy Portal은 전력에너지 체인의 운영방식을 물리적인 것에서 웹 방식으로 전환한 것으로 전력사업자와 소비자 사이의 양방향 상호작용을 가능케 하고 최종 소비자의 모든 기기들을 서로 네트워킹하며 이를 통해 과거 물리적인 방식의 운영과는 차원이 다른 다양한 서비스와 운영이 가능하게 하는 Service Portal이다. 본 논문은 수용가의 실시간 원격검침 데이터를 지그비(ZigBee) 통신기술을 이용하여 수집하는 것과 물리적으로 연결된 설비들을 제어할 수 있는 양방향 Network Access 망을 구축하여 전력사업자의 통합자원관리, 수요관리, 부가서비스제공에 기여하고자 한다.

  • Though Korea has introduced CBP(Cost Based pool) power trading system since 2001, long-term Generation system planning has been executed by government for Cost minimization every 2 years. Until currently the model which is used for Generation system planning and best-mix only considers cost minimization and total yearly or quarterly electricity demand every year. In a view point of one day power supply operation, technical characteristics, like the ramp up/down rate of total generation system, minimum up/down time and GFRQ(Governor Free Response Quantity), are very important. this paper analyzes Optimal Fuel-Mix for 2022 Korea generation system satisfying these constraints of each fuel type and considering pump storage plants, construction cost and $CO_2$ emission charge Using MILP(Mixed Integer Linear Programming) method. Also the sensitivity analysis which follows in future power industry environmental change accomplished.

  • This paper proposes a novel design of enhanced auto light control system using PLC(Power Line Communication) and SMS(Short Message Service) to copy with emergent cases effectively. In the proposed system, the indoor sensing system is designed to send emergent messages to the users or system manager in case of fire or invasion, which may prevent secondary accident. In addition, data transmission using PLC may drastically decreases the number of lines. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • With the proliferation of nonlinear loads such as switching mode power supplies, high neurtral harmonic currents in three-phase four-wire distribution system have been observed. It has been known that the grounded impedance has an effect on the neutral current of a system which operates with harmonics present since the neutral conductor is grounded. On-site measurements of harmonic currents and voltages were made and the corresponding equivalent circuit was developed. The circuit model under study was simulated numerically and graphically through the use of the software MATLAB. Simulation results verifying the relationship between the neutral harmonic current and ground impedance are presented.

  • This paper presents the analysis of connected operation of photo voltaic source and Li energy storage system. The micro-grid has been installed and operated for several years at the campus of USF and has been a role of test bed. Photo voltaic source has been strongly influenced by the location, weather and climate of a installed area and Li battery is connected directly to the photo voltaic source to compensate for the limitations. The Li battery is operated to supply power output to the grid by the charging or discharging mode based on the average power output of the PV source which is calculated from monitored data for several years. The load of the PV and Li battery system is operated as a severe loading condition and the operating characteristics of PV source and Li battery are analyzed in detail. In connected operations of PV and Li battery to power system, the PV and Li battery is operated to supply constant power during only day time or peak time to increase load shedding ratio and efficient usage of generation sources in power system.
