Cooperative diversity is a cooperative technique which exploits user diversity by decoding the combined signal of the relayed signal and the direct signal in wireless multi-hop networks. Using the cooperation, the performance of the network system can be improved because cooperative diversity which is very strong against the fading channels can be achieved. In this paper, we propose the technique that provides the enhanced visual quality of the reconstructed video using the cooperative diversity with the FMO which is the error resilience tool of H.264/AVC standardization over wireless networks. The eye-tracker can detect the gaze point of user and transmit the gaze information to the nodes. After receiving the gaze information of user, each node performs ROI encoding according to the received gaze information. After encoding, video sources are divided into ROI and Non-ROI. Through the simulation results, the better visual quality of the reconstructed video is achieved when ROI and Non-ROI are transmitted through different channels.

MC-DS-CDMA is technique where a single data symbol is transmitted at multiple subcarriers which are orthogonal to each other. With this technique, frequency diversity can be achieved. The performance of uplink MC-DS-CDMA systems with the application of MRRC antenna diversity over time variant channels is analyzed. Time variant channels lead to interchannel interference which increases the bit error rate in the receiver. The BER performance of this system over multipath fading environment is evaluated, considering the channel estimation error, carrier frequency offset, and the nonlinear high power amplifier.

OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is widely used in wideband wireless communication systems due to its excellent performance. However, OFDM has a disadvantage of high peak-to-average power ratio and SC-FDE(Single-Carrier with Frequency-Domain Equalization) was introduced to overcome the drawback. SC-FDE is less sensitive to nonlinear power amplifiers than OFDM while its complexity and performance is comparable. This paper proposes a frequency diversity technique for single-antenna BPSK SC-FDE systems using repeated QPSK transmissions with rearranged transmission patterns.

In this paper, we derive the gain of network coding when it is utilized for retransmission in wireless networks. To the end, we derive the outage probability of the network-coded transmission and express the diversity order as a function of the number of nodes and the node's listening probability. From the outage probability, we formulate the ${\epsilon}$-outage capacity. The network-coding gain is the ratio of the ${\epsilon}$-outage capacities between network-coded and non-coded transmissions. Under our system model, we find that the network-coding gain is a function of the diversity order. Moreover, when there are infinitely many nodes, we show that the network coding gain approaches $0.25{\epsilon}^{-1}$.

MC-CDMA is a digital modulation technique where a single data symbol is transmitted at multiple subcarriers which are orthogonal to each other. With this technique, frequency diversity can be achieved. The performance of MC-CDMA systems is analyzed, when data is transmitted over multi-path and Doppler fading channel. The performance of this technique, gauged by the average bit error rate, is numerically analyzed for the system with the application of antenna diversity and error control coding.

In this paper, a proposal for improving the performance of IF in-phase combiner is presented in view of simple hardware design and good performance for space diversity application. By adding the stable normalization circuit to the phase detector, better performances are obtained even for a severe notch depth of 30 dB. To check the validity of this proposal, various results based upon numerical simulation and laboratory test are presented here in conjunction with 64-QAM digital radio relay system.

A low-complexity dual-user multiplexing scheme is proposed for a pair of mobiles equipped with single antenna operating over frequency-selective fading channels. The proposed scheme employs OFDM transmission scheme with a modified version of a space-frequency code and a low-complexity PIC-SIC group detection is invoked at the corresponding receiver. The BER performances of the proposed scheme are studied using LTE-like parameters through simulations and are compared against those of conventional ZF and ML schemes.
In this paper, we designed a diversity modem hardware architecture for IEEE802.11p WAVE and tested the modem on the road with car attached shark antenna. One of the dual channel modem and the diversity single modem with maximum ratio combining algorithm can be selected on the designed architecture. The designed modem have been implemented on the Xillinx Kintex7 FPGA. We tested the modem performance on the smart highway experience road. As experimental results, we can verify the performance of the diversity modem on real road and the enlarged communication range by more than 30%.

Transmit diversity is an efficient diversity technique to improve performance and spectrum efficiency in wireless communication . Coding scheme designed for the transmit diversity is called space-time coding. In this paper, we propose a training structure to apply the transmit diversity to improve the performance of IEEE802.11a OFDM systems. Based on this training structure, we propose a channel estimation scheme using curve fitting. Also we compare and evaluate the performance of space-time codes. The performance of both diversity using space-time codes and channel estimation scheme is investigated by computer simulation in quasi-static 2-ray rayleigh fading environment.

In this paper, we propose two efficient symbol detection algorithms for space-frequency OFDM (SF-OFDM) transmit diversity scheme. When the number of sub-carriers in SF-OFBM scheme is small, the interference between adjacent sub-carriers may be generated. The proposed algorithms eliminate this interference in a parallel or sequential manlier and achieve a considerable performance improvement over the conventional detection algorithm. The bit error rate (BER) performance of the proposed detection algorithms is evaluated by the simulation. In the case of 2 transmit and 2 receive antennas, at $BER=10^{-4}$ the proposed algorithms achieve the gain improvement of about 3 dB. The symbol detectors with the proposed algorithms are designed in a hardware description language and synthesized to gate-level circuits with the $0.18{\mu}m$ 1.8V CMOS standard cell library. With the division-free architecture, the proposed SF-OFDM-PIC and SF-OFDM-SIC symbol detectors can be implemented using 140k and 129k logic gates, respectively.
