MC-DS-CDMA is technique where a single data symbol is transmitted at multiple subcarriers which are orthogonal to each other. With this technique, frequency diversity can be achieved. Time variant channels lead to interchannel interference which increases the bit error rate for MC-DS-CDMA systems. The performance of PSAM MC-DS-CDMA system over time variant channels is analyzed. The BER performance of this system over multipath fading environment is evaluated, considering the channel estimation error, carrier frequency offset.

Wireless media communication has lower robustness and stability than wired communication because of narrow bandwidth and unstable channel state. To make up for the deficient points of wireless communication, we used the diversity effect of cooperation communication and the error correction effect of channel coding schemes. In this paper, the cooperative communication system with RCPC codes and Hybrid ARQ transmission scheme is proposed for improving reliability on wireless communication, and we executed these simulations. From the simulation results, proposed system is showed lower BER performance than legacy system. In addition, we confirm the fact that the channel state of Relay-node and source-node is more important than the channel state of Relay-node and destination-node.

STBC is a technique where a multiple antenna signals are transmitted. With this technique, antenna diversity can be achieved. The performance of STBC OFDM system using pilot symbol for the channel estimation is analyzed. IEEE 802.16e standards suggest that the BER performance of STBC system can be improved using channel state information. Pilot symbol is used for the channel estimation in OFDM systems. However, imperfect channel estimates in this systems degrade the performance. The performance of this STBC OFDM systems using channel state information, gauged by the average bit error rate, is analyzed considering the channel estimation error.

A mobile satellite broadcasting service including an ancillary terrestrial component (ATC) takes advantage of the satellite's inherent capability to provide broadcast service over global coverage. We consider the downlink transmission concept using ATC with space=time code (STC) for the mobile satellite communication. We do not regard ATC as simply a repeater but consider it as an antenna for STC. First transmission scenarios for an application of STC are represented. Next, we apply STC in the mobile satellite system including ATC and compare the system performance in the proposed architecture of ATC to that in the conventional structure. The simulation results are compared to the conventional downlink transmission concept for the mobile satellite broadcasting service.

Pilot symbol assisted modulation (PSAM) can be used for the channel estimation in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission systems. However, imperfect channel estimates in PSAM systems degrade the bit error rate (BER) performance. I derive the BER of PSAM OFDM systems over time dispersive fading channels. The BER performance of OFDM systems with SFBC antenna diversity are analyzed, where data is transmitted over time and frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel. The performance of this PSAM SFBC OFDM systems, gauged by the average bit error rate, is analyzed considering the channel estimation error.
In this paper, we propose and observe the Adaptive Modulation system with optimal Turbo Coded V-BLAST(Vertical-Bell-lab Layered Space-Time) technique that is applied the extrinsic information from MAP Decoder in decoding Algorithm of V-BLAST: ordering and slicing. And comparing the proposed system with the Adaptive Modulation system using conventional Turbo Coded V-BLAST technique that is simply combined V-BLAST with Turbo Coding scheme, we observe how much throughput performance and SNR has been improved. In addition, we show that the proposed system using STD(Selection Transmit Diversity) scheme results in on improved result, By using simulation and comparing to conventional Turbo Coded V-BLAST technique with the Adaptive Modulation systems, the optimal Turbo Coded V-BLAST technique with the Adaptive Modulation systems has SNR gain over all SNR range and better throughput gain that is about 350Kbps in 11dB SNR range. Also, comparing with the conventional Turbo Coded V-BLAST technique using 2 transmit and 2 receive antennas, the proposed system with STD scheme show that the improvement of maximum throughput is about 1.77Mbps in the same SNR range and the SNR gain is about 5.88dB to satisfy 4Mbps throughput performance.

In this paper, we deal with multi-user diversity scheduling methods that transmit simultaneously signals from multiple users using superposition coding multiplexing. These methods can make various scheduling methods be obtained, according to strategies for user selection priority from the first user to the first-following users, strategies for per-user power allocation, and resulting combining strategies. For the first user selection, we consider three strategies such as 1) higher priority for a user with a better channel state, 2) following the proportional fair scheduling (PFS) priority, 3) higher priority for a user with a lower average serving rate. For selection of the first-following users, we consider the identical strategies for the first user selection. However, in the second strategy, we can decide user priorities according to the original PFS ordering, or only once an additional user for power allocation according to the PFS criterion by considering a residual power and inter-user interference. In the strategies for power allocation, we consider two strategies as follows. In the first strategy, it allocates a power to provide a permissible per-user maximum rate. In the second strategy, it allocates a power to provide a required per-user minimum rate, and then it reallocates the residual power to respective users with a rate greater than the required minimum and less than the permissible maximum. We consider three directions for scheduling such as maximizing the sum rate, maximizing the fairness, and maximizing the sum rate while maintaining the PFS fairness. We select the max CIR, max-min fair, and PF scheduling methods as their corresponding reference methods [1 and references therein], and then we choose candidate scheduling methods which performances are similar to or better than those of the corresponding reference methods in terms of the sum rate or the fairness while being better than their corresponding performances in terms of the alternative metric (fairness or sum rate). Through computer simulations, we evaluate the sum rate and Jain’s fairness index (JFI) performances of various scheduling methods according to the number of users.

In this paper, we propose a real-time service based on retransmission slot in low rate WPAN. In the proposed scheme, during the communication period of the beacon-enabled mode in LR-WPAN standard, a special GTSs is dynamically assigned for retransmission of the packet that fails during a real-time service such as voice. This provides a time diversity in the severe channel error environments to support the required QoS. Analytical results show that this scheme achieves a much higher throughput and better transmission success rate per GTS slot than conventional schemes such as a common reserved scheme in LR WPAN.

In this paper, we propose a collision avoidance scheduling to increase the multiuser diversity gains in the adaptive orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) system. The scheduling policy is based on the minimum collision criterion which investigates the differences of user channels. The paper includes the derivation of capacity expressions for the adaptive OFDMA system with the proposed scheduling. The analysis shows that the capacity of the system depends on the number of collisions between the selected users to be simultaneously served. Numerical results show that the proposed scheduling provides improved capacity performance over existing ones.

In this paper, we propose an efficient symbol mapping method based on LLR (log-likelihood ratio) statistic for HARQ employing CoRe (constellation rearrangement) with 64QAM. The signal constellations for 64QAM with limited number of retransmissions are selected by the proposed mapping rule. Then we determine the transmission order of selected constellations. The proposed scheme reduces the performance deviation between transmit symbols so as to improve the system performance. Through simulation results, the proposed and existing CoRe mapping methods are compared with respect to error rate and throughput in MIMO-OFDM system over fading channel and we confirm the applicability of the proposed scheme in practical wireless communications environment.
