Transcribing Some Text Symbols for Improving Korean TTS System (한국어 음성 합성을 위한'이음표'의 문자 전사)

  • 최근 신문기사의 음성 서비스 등 음성합성 연구가 실용단계로 접어들고 있으나, 텍스트의 비-문자 처리에는 오류율이 높다. 본 연구는 신문 텍스트에 나타나는 비-문자 중 중의성이 높은 이음표의 문자화 유형을 6가지로 제시하고, 이음표를 포함한 어절의 패턴화된 구조 및 좌우 문맥 정보를 이용하여 이음표의 문자화 규칙을 알아본다. 제시된 이응표의 문자화 규칙과 이음표가 좌우 문맥 숫자의 문자화에 미치는 영향에 따른 숫자 읽기 방식을 포함하여 이음표 포함된 텍스트의 문자화 전사 시스템을 구현하였고, 2런치 J신문 텍스트를 코퍼스로 하여 이음표 문자화 시스템의 정확도를 측정하였다. 아울러 실험 결과에서 오류로 나타난 유형을 분석하여 정확도를 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

  • In this paper, we designed and manufactured HD Switch Panel parts with micro-etched pattern. By using CAE analysis, we could predict weld-line positions and the amount of shrinkage during injection molding process. We measured the temperature distribution of the mold surface so that we could optimize the processing conditions such as mold temperature. In order to increase the transcription of micro-etched pattern, we applied the E-Mold technology and evaluated the effect of mold temperature on the surface quality. We concluded that the etched pattern was improved(more than 2.5$\to$1.5~1.7) through the measurement of surface gloss and the observation of both SEM and SPM images.

  • The effects of silica content were studied on UV curing characteristics and defect formations in imprinted patterns of hundreads nanometer size for the photo-curable imprinting composites with silica particles. An increase in elasticity and a decrease in shrinkage were observed with an increase in silica content in the imprinting resin which was UV cured at room temperature. However, the patterned nano-pillars were stuck together with neighboring nano-pillars if the amount of silica is more than 7 wt%. This can be ascribed to the increased viscosity of imperfectly cured resin due to the obstruction of the photo-reaction by silica particles. Addition of silica to the imprinting resin is useful in enhancing the strength of the cured resin although it is difficult to get good imprinted patterns for the resin with more than 7 wt% of silica due to the reduction of photo-reaction conversion.

  • The cloned glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAP) gene of Saccharomyces cereviszae (Holland et al., 1983) has been characterized. Based on the communication, we have also cloned 2.1 kb CAP DNA fragment and modified this fragment as a portable promoter. Two yeast expression vectors, one is YCp type vector being maintained at low copy number (1 or 2) and the other is YEp type vector at high copy number, have been constructed with the GAP promoter and the PH05' gene as a reporter. Our plasrnids were introduc,ed into S. cerevisiae HY-1, which has been improved. The $Trp^+$ transformants expressed APase activity efficiently and showed high level of PH05' transcripts.

  • The transcription of mRNA of avian influenza virus is regulated temporally during infection. Therefore, the measurement of transcript level in host cells should be performed before viral release from host cells because errors can occur in the analysis of the transcript levels if the viruses released from the infected cells re-infect cells. In this study, the timing of viral release was determined by measuring the level of viral RNA from viruses released from H9N2-infected chicken fibroblast cell line UMNSAH/DF-1 by semi-quantitative RT-PCR. The viral genomic RNA was isolated together with mouse total RNA which was added to the collected medium as carrier to monitor the viral RNA recovery and to use its GAPDH as an internal control for normalizing reverse transcription reaction as well as PCR reaction. It was found that viral release of H9N2 in the chicken fibroblast cell line UMNSAH/DF-1 took between 16 and 20 h after infection. We measured all 8 viral mRNA levels. Of the 8 transcripts, 7 species of viral mRNAs (each encoding HA, NA, PB1, PB2, NP, M, NS, respectively) except PA mRNA showed robust amplification, indicating these mRNA can be used as targets for amplification to measure transcript levels. These results altogether suggest that the method in this study can be used for screening antiviral materials against viral RNA polymerase as a therapeutic target.

Comparison of Immunohistochemical Expression of CBP(cAMP-responsive Element Binding Protein) Transcriptional Co-activator between Premalignant Lesions and Squamous Cell Carcinomas in the Lungs (전암성 폐병변 및 편평상피세포폐암 조직에서 CBP(cAMP-responsive Ele-ment Binding Protein) 전사 공동 활성인자의 면역조직화학적 발현양상의 비교)

  • Background: The pathogenesis of lung cancer includes the accumulation of multiple genetic abnormalities. The CREB-binding protein(CBP) is one of several transcriptional co-activators among various sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factors. CBP is involved in a wide range of cellular activities, such as DNA repair, cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis that are suspected of contributing to tumorigenesis. The goal of this study was to evaluate CBP expression in a series of human lung tissues containing normal epithelium, premalignant lesions(hyperplasia and dysplasia) and squamous cell carcinomas. Materials and Methods: Immunohistochemical staining was performed on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections by use of a monoclonal anti-CBP antibody. CBP expression was compared in samples from 120 patients with premalignant and malignant histological types including 20 metaplastic specimens, 40 dysplastic specimens, and 60 squamous cell carcinomas in the lung. Results: CBP expression was seen in 35% (7/20) of the metaplastic specimens. 65% (26/40) of the dysplastic specimens, and 70% (42/60) of the squamous cell carcinomas (p<0.05). According to celluar atypism, CBP expression was 50% (10/20) of the low-grade dysplastic specimens and 80% (16/20) of the high-grade dysplastic specimens(p <0.01). By cellular differentiation, CBP expression was seen in 95% (19/20) of the well differentiated squamous cell carcinomas, 85% (17/20) of the moderately differentiated carcinomas and 30% (6/20) of the poorly differentiated lesions (p <0.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that CBP may have an important role in malignant transformation of precancerous lung lesions and may be a marker for malignancy.

Numerical Analysis on the Determination of Hydraulic Characteristics of Rubble Mound Breakwater (경사식 방파제의 수리특성 결정을 위한 수치해석)

  • A numerical method to efficiently secure necessary design informations of the hydraulic characteristics of rubble mound breakwater was attempted here. The method combines the exterior wave field with the interior wave field which is formulated incorporating porous media flow inside the breakwaters. An approximate method based on the long wave assumption was used for the exterior wave field while a boundary element method was used for the interior wave field. A hydraulic experiment was also performed to verify the validity of the numerical analysis. The numerical results were compared with experimental data and results from existing formulae. They generally agreed in both reflection and transmission coefficients. The calculated pore pressures also showed a similar pattern with experimental data, even if they gave some significant differences in their values fur some cases. The main cause of such differences can be attributed to the strongly nonlinear wave field occurring on the frontal slope of the breakwater. The direct input of dynamic pressures(measured from hydraulic experiment) into the numerical method was suggested as a promising method to enhance the predictability of pore pressures.

  • The accident rate is higher in the small workplace than the large workplace. It is desirable to focus on the small workplace for the disaster prevention activities. The disaster prevention activities for the small workplace are achieved through the private consignment agencies' technical guidance. but it has exposed many demand of the private consignment agencies' experts and its effectiveness has been strengthened. The purpose of this study, it is to provide the system improvement plan that the problem can be solved and to present a plan to improve the effectiveness of the proposed system. It is to listen to the opinions of experts and the direction of the study was set up.
