Job Satisfaction and Job Performance of Advanced Practice Nurses (전문간호사의 직무만족 및 직무수행)

  • This study examined the status on job satisfaction and job performance of Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) in Korea. The data was obtained from the 2009 APNs' job satisfaction survey of 452 nurses who received the certificate of APN between 2005 and 2008 conducted by the Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education. ANOVA and t-test analyses using SPSS version 14.0 were performed. The average job satisfaction level of the APNs was 2.94 out of 5.00. APNs who were performing jobs as a certified APN had a higher level of job satisfaction (t=.23, p<.001), higher wages (t=2.23, p<.05), promotion in rank (t=2.56, p<.05), more professional job performance (t=10.52, p<.001), greatest trust in their bosses and coworkers (t=5.31, p<.001), and higher confidence in their job performance (t=5.07, p<.001) than those who were not. The government and the nursing community need to provide the APNs' with the appropriate supply and demand polices, as well as a proper incentive system and job improvement.

Trends in the Study of Nursing Professionals in Korea: A Convergence Study of Text Network Analysis and Topic Modeling (국내 간호전문직관 연구 주제 동향: 텍스트네트워크분석과 토픽모델링의 융합)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the trend of nursing professional research topics published domestically through quantitative content analysis. The research method performed procedures for collecting academic papers, refining and extracting words, and data analysis. A text network was developed by collecting 351 papers and extracting words from the abstract, and network analysis and topic modeling were performed. The core-topics were nurses, nursing professionalism, nursing students, nursing care, professional self-concept, health care professionals, satisfaction, clinical competence, and self-efficacy. Through topic modeling, topic groups of nurse's professionalism, nursing students' professionalism, nursing professional identity, and nursing competency were identified. Over time, core-topics remained unchanged, but topics such as role conflict and ethical values in the 1990s, self-leadership and socialization in the 2000s, and clinical practice stress and support systems in the 2010s have emerged. In conclusion, it is necessary to facilitate multidimensional interventional research to improve nursing professionalism of clinical nurses and nursing students.

  • 1. 기초간호교육제도- 기초간호교육은 4년제 대학과정과 3년제 전문 대학과정의 두 제도가 있다. 수업년한, 졸업기준 학점이 다르다. ''학술의 심오한 이론, 그 정치하고 광범한 응용방법을 교수 연구하고 지도적 인격을 도야함''은 대학의 교육목적이며, 전문대학은 ''전문적 지식과 이론을 교수''연구하며 재능을 연마하여 중견 직업인을 양성함''으로 명시되었다. 전자는 학문과 지도력에 중점을 두었고 후자는 전문적 지식과 이론에 바탕을 둔 재능의 연마와 중견직업인에 역점을 두고 있다. 교육과정의 편성비율에 있어서도 대학과정과 전문대학 과정에 현저한 차가 있다. 전문대학은 총 이수학점 중 20$\%$를, 대학과정은 30$\%$를 교양과목으로 과하고 있고, 전문대학은 전공선택과 필수를 총 학점의 80$\%$로 하는데 비해 대학과정은 총 이수학점의 50$\%$ 내외로 하고 자유선택, 부전공 등에 나머지를 할애하고 있다(표 7, 표 8) 2. 계속교육제도- 계속교육제도는 정규교육제도에 포함되고 있는 대학원 과정과 보사부장관이 인정하는 특정 기관에서 개설하는 특수분야별 수습과정들로 나눌 수 있다. 대학원 과정은 간호학 전공 외에도 보건학 교육학동 인접학문 영역을 연구하여 학위를 받고 있고 서울대학교와 연세대학교에서 박사학위 과정을 개설하고 있다. 전공분야별 간호원의 자격인정은 보건간호, 마취간호, 정신간호 분야에 가능하나 극소수의 간호원 자격을 취득하고 있다.

The Effect of Covert Narcissism of Nursing Students on Nursing Professionalism : Mediating effect of Perceived Social Support and Interpersonal Competence (간호대학생의 내현적 자기애가 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향 : 지각된 사회적 지지와 대인관계능력의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of perceived social support and interpersonal competence on the effects of covert narcissism on nursing professionalism of nursing students. For this purpose, 375 nursing students from three colleges in J province were sampled for convenience. The result of this study were as follows: First, the fix indexed of causal model among covert narcissism, nursing professionalism, perceived social support and interpersonal competence were identified suitably. Second, covert narcissism of nursing students directly affected interpersonal competence and perceived social support, which was statistically significant. Third, interpersonal competence showed mediating effects in relationship between covert narcissism and nursing professionalism. Fourth, the interpersonal competence of nursing students directly affected perceived social support and nursing professionalism. Based on the results of the research, it is necessary to develop an intervention program that can enhance interpersonal competence in order to strengthen nursing professionalism of nursing students.

The Mediating Effects of Major Satisfaction in the Relationship of Nursing Professionalism and Career Preparation Behavior in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 간호전문직관과 진로준비행동의 관계에서 전공만족도의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of perceived nursing professionalism and career preparation behavior on the effects of major satisfaction of nursing students. For this purpose, 231 nursing students from 4 university in 4 city were sampled for convenience. The result of this study were as follows:First, nursing professionalism of nursing students directly affected career preparation behavior and major satisfaction, which was statistically significant. Second, nursing professionalism showed mediating effects in relationship between career preparation behavior. Third, the major satisfaction of nursing students directly affected nursing professionalism and career preparation behavior. Based on the results of the research, it is necessary to develop an intervention program that strengthen major satisfaction of nursing students.

Influence of Consciousness of Biomedical Ethics on Nursing Professionalism of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 생명의료윤리의식이 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of Consciousness of biomedical ethics on nursing professionalism among nursing students. Data were collected among 192 nursing students in G city, from May 20 to 27, 2021. The collected data was analyzed a using t-test, One way ANOVA, Pearson's correation coeffcient and Stepwise multiple regression using SPSS 20.0 WIN program. The average score for Consciousness of biomedical ethics was 3.28±0.41 and nursing professionalism was 3.32±0.85. nursing professionalism showed a positve correlation(r=.55, p=.000) with Consciousness of biomedical ethics, Models including the variables, Organ transplant, Euthanasia, explained 37%, 16.5% of the variance in the nursing professionalism. Based on the outcome of this study, steps should be taken to design intervention program that emphasize a improve nursing professionalism for nursing students.

Convergence Study of Mediating Effect of Nursing Professionalism on the relationship between Nurse Image and Satisfaction of Major among Nursing Students (간호대학생이 지각하는 간호사 이미지와 전공만족도 사이의 관계에서 간호전문직관의 매개효과에 대한 융합적 연구)

  • The Purpose of this study was to exam the relationships among nurse image, nursing professionalism and major satisfaction and mediating effect. A convenience sample of 200 nursing students were recruited from a college in G city, from May 12 to 16. 2014. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS/PC ver 21.0 programs. There were significantly positive correlations between nurse image, nursing professionalism and major satisfaction. Nursing professionalism fully mediated the relationship between nurse image and major satisfaction. These findings indicate that increasing nursing professionalism can be an effective way to change nurse image more positive among nursing students, especially before clinical practice. A collaborative effort among nursing education and nursing leaders in practice is needed to change nurse image more positive.
