A Study on Simulation of Photovoltaic Module for Stand-Alone Photovoltaic System (독립형 태양광시스템에 적용한 태양광 모듈 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구)

  • This presents the equivalent circuit model of solar cell with irradiation and temperature condition. Based on solar cell model, the photovoltaic module specification of manufacturer compare with photovoltaic module simulation and is investigated by simulation results. The obtained results indicate that residual of simulation value and specification value about photovoltaic module is lower. There is considerable validity in simulation of photovoltaic module. Thus, the optimum simulation of photovoltaic module array are studied in this paper. This paper propose the sizing optimization of photovoltaic module array for stand-alone photovoltaic system. Also, the proposed stand-alone photovoltaic system is setting in special region(in seoul). This paper presents simulation characteristic of optimization output power in seoul.

Fabrication of IF SDLA for Radar Applications (레이다용 IF SDLA의 제작)

  • In this paper, a high dynamic range IF logarithmic amplifier was designed and fabricated by the successive detection technique for radar systems. The fabricataed IF successive detection logarithmic amplifier(SDLA), a hybrid MIC type, achieves a logarithmic linearity of $\pm$1.4 dB and a dynamic range of 80 dB over 0.5 GHz to 1.5 GHz. The tangential signal sensitivity is -76 dBm, the NF is smaller than 5.5 dB, and the input VSWR is 2.0 : 1. This IF SDLA can be applied to radar systems by reducing the size and power consumption.

  • 21세기에 새로운 분야로 대두되고 있는 가상현실은 많은 사람들의 흥미를 끌고 있다. 상상 속에서나 가능하던 일들을 현실감과 입체감을 통해 실제처럼 느낄 수 있게 해준다는 것이 가상현실의 가장 큰 매력일 것이다. 가상현실을 요하는 멀티미디어 기기들의 활발한 시장진출로 3D 효과를 가진 오디오/비디오의 하드웨어 구현이 불가피하다. 본 연구에서는 휴대용 기기들에서 실시간 3D 입체음향 효과를 얻을 수 있도록 하드웨어를 구성하였다. 기존의 입체음향 기술에서 사용되는 콘볼루션 방법은 계산량이 많기 때문에 실시간 구현이 어렵다. 그러나 제안된 방식은 FFT를 사용하여 주파수 영역에서 처리함으로써 계산량을 줄여 하나의 프로세서로도 실시간 처리가 가능하도록 하였다. 저가/저전력/소형화조건을 요구하는 휴대용 기기에서 3D 입체 음향 효과를 얻을 수 있는 것이다. DSP는 TI(Texas Instruments)사의 16비트 고정소수점(fixed-point) 프로세서인 TMS320C5416을 사용한다. 구현된 3D 입체음향 칩은 입체음향을 필요로 하는 휴대용 MP3 Player, 가전용 오디오/비디오 등에 응용될 수 있다.

Study on the Multi-Zone Furnace Analysis Method for Power Plant Boiler (발전용 보일러에 대한 다중영역분할 화로해석 기법의 활용성 연구)

  • In this study, a multi-zone furnace analysis method that couples a 1D energy and mass balance calculation with a 3D radiative heat transfer calculation is tested in order to verify its reliability. The calculated results for a domestic 500 MW capacity coal-fired boiler furnace were compared with the design data of the boiler manufacturer and CFD analysis, and a good agreement was achieved. Although this calculation method is less sophisticated than the CFD furnace analysis, it has an advantage in terms of calculation time while being able to provide the furnace behavior according to the fuel characteristics and operational variable changes. Therefore, it is expected to be useful for boiler operation diagnosis and daily fuel/operation planning.

  • When ordering a slurry shield TBM to be used for power cable tunneling, the client organizes an evaluation committee composed of experts, suggest the criteria and evaluation method for technical specifications for supplier selection, and based on the manufacturer's technical proposal were attempted to evaluate and select. It is expected to be referred to as a guideline for future projects to using Shield TBM as one of the methods of verifying performance and quality in advance and securing economic feasibility in the shield TBM tunneling in the recent increasing trend.

  • Numerous researches are being made on applications based on ubiquitous sensor networks and super light, low power sensors. With the development of society, the aged population is expanding and living alone elders are one of important social issues in today's society. This paper implements the living alone elderly people protection system using ubiquitous sensor networks. By collecting and monitoring information on living alone elders using sensor nodes and sink nodes in web environment, we can perform more integrated management. The implemented living alone elderly people protection system can monitor living alone elders' situation and take actions promptly in emergency.

Design of Gun Launched Ramjet Propelled Artillery Shell with Inviscid Flow Assumption (비점성 유동을 가정한 포 발사 램제트 추진탄 설계)

  • Operation area of corps was expanded under military reformation, and extending range of 155 mm howitzer became important issue. New approach is needed to extend range to 80 kim. Ramjet engine is air breathing engine, and it can provide specific impulse several times more than solid rocket motor so that range is extended using same weight of propellant. If the ramjet engine is gun-launched system, it does not require any other booster because muzzle velocity is near Mach 3. Especially solid fuel ramjet (SFRJ) does not have any moving part so that it is favorable for gun-launching system which is under high stress during launching. In this paper, we design air intake, combustion chamber, and nozzle of 155 mm gun launched ramjet propelled artillery shell with inviscid flow assumption. We conduct parameter study to have range more than 80 km, and maximum high explosive volume.

  • For the last half a century, the personal computer and software industries have been prosperous due to the incessant evolution of computer systems. In the 21st century, the embedded system market has greatly increased as the market shifted to the mobile gadget field. While a lot of multimedia gadgets such as mobile phone, navigation system, PMP, etc. are pouring into the market, most industrial control systems still rely on 8-bit micro-controllers and simple application software techniques. Unfortunately, the technological barrier which requires additional investment and higher quality manpower to overcome, and the business risks which come from the uncertainty of the market growth and the competitiveness of the resulting products have prevented the companies in the industry from taking advantage of such fancy technologies. However, high performance, low-power and low-cost hardware and software platforms will enable their high-technology products to be developed and recognized by potential clients in the future. This paper presents such a platform for industrial embedded systems. The platform was designed based on Telechips TCC8300 multimedia processor which embedded a variety of parallel hardware for the implementation of multimedia functions. And open-source Embedded Linux, TinyX and GTK+ are used for implementation of GUI to minimize technology costs. In order to estimate the expected performance and power consumption, the performance improvement and the power consumption due to each of enabled hardware sub-systems including YUV2RGB frame converter are measured. An analytic model was devised to check the feasibility of a new application and trade off its performance and power consumption. The validity of the model has been confirmed by implementing a real target system. The cost can be further mitigated by using the hardware parts which are being used for mass production products mostly in the cell-phone market.

A Study on the Introduction and Application Plan of the Mobile Saturation Diving System for ROK Navy Salvage Operations (한국 해군의 해난구조작전을 위한 이동식 포화잠수체계 도입 및 활용방안에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined how to improve the Korean Navy diving system, particularly focused on using the mobile saturation diving system. This study determined the range of navy operations, and suggested requirements of mobile saturation diving system from the analysis of previous study and current Navy Diving system. Also, this study examined the use of military strategy in terms of its technical and applicable possibility for the enhancement of current system. In addition, the study analyzed both advantages/disadvantages of importing mobile saturation diving system products and domestic development. To review measures in installing and operating such system, this study included analysis on the effectiveness of individual platform. As the result, the study suggested requirements of mobile saturation diving system to be able to be operated by more than 6 divers for more than 17 days at more than 200m depth. And the study confirmed that there are beneficial to use mobile saturation diving system and current Navy saturation diving system together. However, it is low economical efficiency to change current Navy gas diving system to Saturation diving system. To review measures in installing and operating such system, this study suggested that second ATS-II should be built to be able to install mobile saturation diving system. Also, this study generated an utilization method of the system to use it for training when peacetime, and than it should be installed on other platform to use as additional salvage strength during wartime.
