  • 본 논문은 RF 리더기와 RF 태그 상호간의 통신시에 발생할 수 있는 충돌을 감지하고 이를 능동적으로 회피할수 있는 RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification)의 설계에 관한 내용이다. RFID는 사람, 자동차, 화물, 상품 등에 정보를 부가하는 시스템으로 그 부가정보를 무선통신매체를 이용하여 비접족으로 해독하는 시스템으로 기존의 바코드보다 데이터의 전송속도와 용량의 증가 그리고 편리성이 향상되는 장점이 있으나, 동시에 여러개의 RF태그와의 무선통신으로 인한 데이터의 충돌이 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 충돌을 감지하고 이를 적절하게 회피하는 것은 RFID 시스템의 신뢰성을 높이는데 필수적인 요소이다. RFID 태그로 사용되기 위해서는 건전지로 구동될 수 있도록 저전력소모가 요구되며 또한 통신의 시작과 충돌을 파악할 수 있는 캐리어 감지기능이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 조건들을 만족하는 Chipcon 사(社)의 양방향 RF IC를 사용하였다. Chipcon 사(社)의 양방향 RF IC는 다중 주파수 대역의 선택과 변조방식을 시리얼통신을 통해서 손쉽게 변경할 수 있기 때문에 충돌감지시 다양한 회피알고리즘을 상황에 맞게 구현할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 양방향 RF IC를 사용하여 충돌을 감지하고 회피할 수 있는 RFID시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다.

Imperfect Competition and Productivity: Korean Fossil-fueled Power Generation Sector (발전부문의 불완전경쟁과 생산성 변화)

  • By the significant structural change in 1999, a partial privatization has occurred in Korean fossil-fuel power generation sector. Under the current price scheme wholesale electricity price is dependent on output size, and hence, may not satisfy the assumption of price-taking producers. The purpose of our study is constructing the productivity change measurements of Korean power generation sector taking into account possibly imperfect competition and variable returns to scale. Our approach based on Harrison (1994) and Levinsohn (1993) derives the plant-level productivity measurements of the period between 2001 and 2007, as well as the measurements of mark-ups and returns to scale. It is shown that the mark-up size is dependent on the plants' fuel type and is decreasing over time. Allowing for imperfect competition and variable returns to scale adjusts the productivity measurements substantially.

A Analysis on the Result of CE/CS Test on the KOMPSAT-I ETB (아리랑1호 위성 ETB의 전도성 전자파 환경 시험결과 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyze the result of the conduced emission and susceptibility tests performed on the KOMPSAT-I ETB Platform. The ETB platform consists of the EM (Engineering Model) boxes developed to perform the electrical functional test. During the conducted emission test, we measured the instant waveform in time domain when each switch was turn on, and spectrum of the noise in the frequency range of 10 Hz up to100 MHz fur the steady state of the ETB. During the conducted susceptibility test, no malfunction and no serious damage of the electronic box were observed when a simulated noise waveform was applied to the DC power bus. The simulated waveform was obtained by adding the 6 dB-system margin to the worst case waveform measured from the conducted emission. This test was performed as co-development of the KOMPSAT-I with TRW in USA.

  • Particularly the photovoltaic systems are preferred because the output is extracted to the useful electric energy. However, the output characteristics of photovoltaic(PV) systems using solar cell or array depend on the weather conditions. The assistant equipment which emulates the solar cell characteristics that can be controlled arbitrarily by researcher is required to the researchers for reliable experimental data. To solve these problems, it is necessary to research a solar cell model of which output characteristics varied by setting the weather conditions such as insolation levels and temperatures. Therefore, this paper was presented that improved model which is based on interpolation model. To verified the improved model, it is confirmed using the simulation of MATLAB. Also, the experiment was performed by the characteristics of virtual implemented solar cell(VISC) system with the proposed solar cell model. It could be confirmed that there exists actual ewer within 5% between actual solar cell and VISC system.

  • In this paper, The high-speed, low-Power analog-to-digital conversion structure is proposed using the pipelined comparator away for high-speed conversion rate and the successive- approximation structure for low-power consumption. This structure is the successive-approximation structure using pipelined comparator array to change the reference voltage during the holding time. An 8-bit 10MS/s analog-to-digital converter is designed using 0.8${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS technology. The INL/DNL errors are $\pm$0.5/$\pm$1, respectively. The SNR is 41㏈ at a sampling rate of 10MHz with 100KHz sine input signal. The Power consumption is 4.14㎽ at 10MS/s.

Power Efficient Multi-level Digital Transmission Technique in Non-Linear Mobile Satellite Channel (비선형 이동위성 통신채널에서 전력 효율적 고차 디지털 전송 방식)

  • In order to provide high-speed wide-band multimedia services via Low earth(LEO) mobile satellire, power and bandwidth efficient digital transmission technique should to employed. This paper analyzes the performance of Trellis-soded 16QAM and 8PSK-2AM which can transmit twice as much inforemation as QPSK in nonlinearly amplified LEO mobile satellite channel. In the analysis the nonlinear mobile satellite channel is modelled by Rician fading channel amplified by Fujitsu's GaAs FET HPA. Our simulation result shows that 8PSK-2AM is less sensitive to the satellite channel nonlinear distortion and its BER performance is better than that of 16QAM. The BER performance of 8PSK-2AM is further improved by optimizing its signal constellation. Accocordingly it is found that Trellis-coded 8PSK-2AM could provide multimedia services such as Satellite Internet, DBS, DAB and ISDB more efficiently in the power and bandwidth limited mobile satellite channel.

  • 1. 배경 최근 IoT 기술이 발전함에 따라 각종 전자기기에 들어가는 센서들이 점점 늘어나고 있다. 특히 사용자 중심의 기기들은 기술이 발전함에 따라 집적화가 이루어지면서, 하나의 기기에서 온도, 습도, 조도 등의 다양한 정보를 처리하고 있다. 이에 따라 더 많은 기능을 사용하기 위해, 소모 전력 또한 점차 증가하고 있다. 그러나 부피는 한정되어 있어, 기존 배터리만으로는 증가하는 소모 전력을 모두 보완하기 어렵다. 또한 대표적인 사용자 중심 기기인 스마트폰에서는, 가장 많은 전력을 소모하는 부분이 점점 커지고 있다. 이에 대한 대책으로 버려지는 에너지를 수확하여 전기적인 에너지로 바꿔주는 에너지 하베스팅 기술이 각광을 받고 있다. 에너지 하베스팅 기술은 바람, 진동, 인체의 움직임 등의 기계적 에너지, 태양광, 실내등의 빛 에너지를 전기적인 에너지로 바꿔주는 기술을 말한다. 본 연구에서는 강유전체 고분자 내부에 양자점이 임베딩된 박막을 이용하여, 스마트폰에서 발생하는 빛 에너지와 손가락으로 디스플레이를 터치할 때 발생하는 기계적인 에너지를 모두 수확할 수 있는 새로운 소자를 제시하였다. 소자 내부에 있는 양자점은 빛 에너지를 산란 혹은 흡수하여 발광한 후, 고분자 내부의 전반사를 통해 양 옆에 있는 태양전지로 빛을 전달한다. 또한 컴포짓의 매트릭스를 이루고 있는 강유전체 폴리머인 P(VDF-TrFE)는 강유전 특성을 통해 마찰전기 에너지를 효율적으로 전기 에너지로 전환할 수 있다. 강유전체 특성에 의해 P(VDF-TrFE) 내부에 정렬된 Polarization은 퀀텀닷에 양자구속 스타크 효과(Quantum Confined Stark Effect)를 일으켜 더 긴 파장을 방출한다. 이렇게 바뀐 파장은 실리콘 태양전지에서 더 많이 흡수할 수 있는 영역으로 방출되어 태양전지 출력의 증가를 일으킨다. 마지막으로 실리콘 태양전지의 출력 증가를 보여줌으로써 이를 실험적으로 입증했다.

Functional Test of A Station of Control System for Power Plant (발전소 제어시스템 기본 스테이션 기능 검증)

  • A control system has been developed by korean engineers for 500MW korean standard type fossil power plant with the advent of retrofit of old control system. The developed control system is required to verify in terms of function and reliability prior to application to a power plant because a power plant is a very important facility in the industry. It is difficult to secure the enough period for installing the control system and commissioning due to the gradual increase of power demand and competitive power market environment. It is essential to verify the control system in order to reduce trial and error cases during overhaul period for application of control system to the power plant. This paper shows the case study of a functional test of a station of control system for power plant.

0.35㎛ CMOS Low-Voltage Current/Voltage Reference Circuits with Curvature Compensation (곡률보상 기능을 갖는 0.35㎛ CMOS 저전압 기준전류/전압 발생회로)

  • This paper presents curvature-compensated reference circuits operating under low-voltage condition and achieving low-power consumption with $0.35-{\mu}m$ standard CMOS process. The proposed circuit can operate under less than 1-V supply voltage by using MOS transistors operating in weak-inversion region. The simulation results shows a low temperature coefficient by using the proposed curvature compensation technique. It generates a graph-shape temperature characteristic that looks like a sine curve, not a bell-shape characteristic presented in other published BGRs without curvature compensation. The proposed circuits operate with 0.9-V supply voltage. First, the voltage reference circuit consumes 176nW power and the temperature coefficient is $26.4ppm/^{\circ}C$. The current reference circuit is designed to operate with 194.3nW power consumption and $13.3ppm/^{\circ}C$ temperature coefficient.

Domestic Development and Module Manufacturing Results of W-band PA and LNA MMIC Chip (W-대역 전력증폭 및 저잡음증폭 MMIC의 국내개발 및 모듈 제작 결과)

  • For the purpose of Application to the small radar sensor, the MMIC Chips, which are the core component of the W-band, was designed in Korea according to the characteristics of the transceiver and manufactured by 60nm GaN and 0.1㎛ GaAs pHEMT process. The output power of PA is 28 dBm at center frequency of W-band and Noise figure is 6.7 dB of switch and LNA MMIC. Output power and Noise figure of MMIC chips developed in domestic was applied to the transmitter and receiver module through W-band waveguide low loss transition structure design and impedance matching to verify the performance after the fabrication are 26.1~27.7 dBm and 7.85~10.57 dB including thermal testing, and which are close to the analysis result. As a result, these are judged that the PA and Switch and LNA MMICs can be applied to the small radar sensor.
