Measurement of Phasor Angles of Power System using Synchronized Phasor Measurement System (동기위상 측정장치를 이용한 전력계통 위상각 측정)

  • This paper presents the measurement of phasor angle of power system using Synchronized Phasor Measurement System(SPMS). SPMS includes the GPS receiver, so it can add the exact time information to the data acquired from the power system by SPMS. Using that data, we can compare the difference of phasor angles of voltages currents acquired at the exactly same time, and monitor the RMS values of voltage and current. In this paper, we present the difference of voltage angles between 345kV Sinjechon S/S and 345kV Asan S/S, where two SPMS were installed separately, and prove their performance by comparing to simulation result of PSS/E.

  • The UPFC is a new transmission power flow controller that has the ability to provide dynamic bus voltage control, series real power flow control and series reactive power control. With all of these versatile capabilities, it can provide transmission planner with a new tool to resolve system concerns for a wide variety of system conditions. This paper will describe UPFC system characteristics, operation status under special network systems and outline some advantageous applications. The first UPFC in Korea will be installed and operated by KEPRI and Hyosung Co.

  • To improve the damping of all poorly damped oscillation modes, a control strategy of Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) based on energy method is presented in this Paper As a synchronous voltage-sourced inverter, SSSC is used to provide controllable series compensation. SSSC can provide controllable compensating voltage over an identical capacitive and inductive range. The damping effect of control strategy based on energy function is robustness with respect to loading condition, fault location and network configuration. Furthermore, the control inputs are based on local signals. In two area system, the effect of damping inter-area mode oscillation is demonstrated by the robust control strategy of SSSC.

  • This paper proposes the estimation method about how much reactive power can be increased or decreased under prescribed bus voltage limits in non-linear reactive power and power flow equations. The static nonlinear reactive power voltage problem can be formulated using a linear resistive(I-V) network with voltage dependent current sources. Linear programming model is derived for finding bounds on reactive power. This method was applied to future Korean power system and proved its effectiveness.

  • The accurate analysis of power system requires detailed load model. There are two basic approaches in modeling the load characteristics. One is to directly measure the voltage and frequency sensitivity of the load P and Q at substations and feeders. The other is to build up a composite load model from each load component. Each of these methods has advantages and disadvantages. This paper presents load composition for KEPCO's power system to develop load models by the component-based load modeling.

  • This paper presents the new unified power flow controller(UPFC) load flow algorithm using UPFC transmission line constant model. The UPFC transmission line constant model represents a function of transmission line constant(G.B) UPFC's effect in power system. It can easily be incorporated in a load flow program. The algorithm is suited for monitoring the power system state as well as determining the magnitude and Phase angle of UPFC serial voltage source.

  • dynamic analysis of power systems is required the information for building a transfer function of has the heavy calculation of high order matrices. Since generally the order of the state matrix is over the limit of commercial analysis programs such as MASS(Multi-Area Small Signal Stability) Program, it is necessary to develop dynamic equivalent systems with preserving essential properties of the original system. In this work, a procedurd to find an optimal location of FACTS controllers is presented. The procedure was applied to KEPCO system in the year of 2000. The results on a test system demonstrate the accuracy of dynamic equivalencing and verify the effect of FACTS controllers.

  • In the planning stage of bulk power transmission system, reliability evaluation has been a major issue in the sense of suppling reliable power at the minimum cost. MEXICO program, based on Monte-Carlo simulation method, is known as a valuable tool for reliability evaluation. This paper presents the empirical study results when using MEXICO program for IEEE-RTS, IEEE-MRTS and KEPCO-233 system.

  • 우리나라의 가장 큰 섬인 제주도는 육지계통과 연결된 직류연계선 및 제주도내 발전기를 이용하여 전력을 공급받고 있다. 정부와 우리 한전은 제주도의 지속적인 전력수요 증가에 능동적으로 대처하고 안정적 전력공급을 위해 2011년 제주 추가 직류연계선과 2013년 LNG 발전소 건설을 제3차 전력수급기본계획에 반영 추진중이다. 이 논문은 제주 추가 직류연계선 및 LNG 발전소 건설 타당성, 사업여건의 변동에 따라 제주도의 전력공급신뢰도와 발전원 MIX 전망을 검토하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 국제기술규격인 ANSI/IEEE의 고장전류 계산기준을 분석하였고, 외국 전력사의 고장전류 계산 기준을 정리하였다. 계통에서의 차단기 용량 선정은 고장전류 크기가 시간 경과에 따라 다르게 됨으로 차단기 차단시간(interrupting time)특성을 복합적으로 고려하여야 한다. 그러나, 현재 한전에서 사용하고 있는 고장전류 계산은 별도의 차단기 차단시간을 고려한 배수(multiplying factor)를 고려하지 않고 동기발전기 차과도 임피던스만 고장전류 공급원으로 취급하여 계산하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 ANSI/IEEE규격에서 권장하는 내용과 외국 전력사의 고장전류 계산 기준을 종합 정리하였고, 고장전류 계산 예를 한전사용(PSS/E) 및 RTDS를 이용한 경우로 나누어 수행하고 모의 결과를 제시하고자 한다.
