Region Based Image Similarity Search using Multi-point Relevance Feedback (다중점 적합성 피드백방법을 이용한 영역기반 이미지 유사성 검색)

  • Performance of an image retrieval system is usually very low because of the semantic gap between the low level feature and the high level concept in a query image. Semantically relevant images may exhibit very different visual characteristics, and may be scattered in several clusters. In this paper, we propose a content based image rertrieval approach which combines region based image retrieval and a new relevance feedback method using adaptive clustering together. Our main goal is finding semantically related clusters to narrow down the semantic gap. Our method consists of region based clustering processes and cluster-merging process. All segmented regions of relevant images are organized into semantically related hierarchical clusters, and clusters are merged by finding the number of the latent clusters. This method, in the cluster-merging process, applies r: using v principal components instead of classical Hotelling's $T_v^2$ [1] to find the unknown number of clusters and resolve the singularity problem in high dimensions and demonstrate that there is little difference between the performance of $T^2$ and that of $T_v^2$. Experiments have demonstrated that the proposed approach is effective in improving the performance of an image retrieval system.

  • The concept of $k$-shortest disjoint paths is considered important because the establishment of primary and backup forwarding paths exploiting shorter distance and faster propagation time is a dominant consideration for the design of a survivable backbone network. Therefore, we need to evaluate how well the concept of $k$-shortest disjoint paths is exploited for the design of a survivable ship backbone network considering the international standard related to ship backbone networks, the IEC61162-410 standard specifying how to manage redundant message transmissions among ship devices. Performance evaluations are conducted in terms of following objective goals: link capacity, hop and distance of primary and backup paths, even distribution of traffic flows, restoration time of backup forwarding paths, and physical network topology connectivity.

  • There is very little information on mobile terminal service systems such as CRUMPET because the all the users have different situations and characteristic, and so it is also difficult to find correlations. Because of the difficulty of customizing and recommending information based on preference stemming from the users' various situations and characteristics, they usually provide limited, conceptual information. This paper will recommend a system that recommends information tailored to the user's situation and characteristics, using the Spearman correlation coefficients. It finds correlations from users' information and sequences information that is suitable to the user's situation and characteristics into a list, thereby solving the problem of limited, conceptual information. Performance tests have revealed when compared to existing service systems, this system is more effective in terms of precision and recall, with a 92.3% precision rate, and a 73.8% recall rate.

A Study on TRL Application to the Materials and Components Development Program (부품.소재개발사업의 TRL 적용에 관한 연구)

  • Technology Readiness Levels were initially proposed by NASA in 1995. TRL's definition and range were modified within adopted feilds such as hardware and software products. Many national R&D programs have similar evaluation conditions. However, they are influenced by the experts' ability. Relatively, they have shown the little reliance and the low performance of the developed prototype and technology. The purpose of this study is to apply the TRL to the materials and components development program. We defined TRLs for the program and devided them in three technology fields. Proposals, which were submitted for the program in 2007, were assessed with our TRL definitions for the study on the applicability. As a result, we could understand the characteristic TRLs of the technical proposals to the materials and components development program. This shows that the objective tools such as TRLs are required as the R&D program management factors. For the sake, it is the important factor that the detail directives to assess TRL should be developed according to the branches of industrial technology fields.

Interpretation on User Interface from the Design Point of View (디자인 관점으로의 사용자 인터페이스의 해석)

  • User interlace comes out from the combination of various school systems. It may be a strong point but could be a weak point, as the characteristics and peculiarity of specific school system cannot be well reflected. Therefore, the study aims to find the oughtness of developing the user interface system on which the characteristics and peculiarity of design area are reflected, and to find the necessary features and viewpoint in development. To make this, this study examines the relationship of human and target, and technical form and meaning of the relationship regarding the user interface, and analyzes the similarity and difference through the design comparison. In addition, this study looks the background for the introduction of user interface in design area and analyzes the cause to study the relationship between the design and user interface. Consequently, the concept and system of the user interface can be included in the broad sense of design, but has not been developed into the appropriate system for the characteristics of design. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the concept, method and knowledge considering the characteristics of design upon concept interpretation and development process.

Toward Developing a Provenance Conceptual Model for Data-driven Electronic Records (데이터형 전자기록을 위한 출처 개념 모델 개발 방향)

  • This study explored the possibilities of a new approach to developing the provenance concept to electronic records in the data-driven digital environments by reviewing and adopting data provenance concepts and models. It then conducted basic literature review to develop a ground for a model representing the provenance of data-driven electronic records. In particular, it proposed to embrace to the concepts of retrospective and prospective provenance, and to develop a different model for representing provenance from records management metadata. If the model can be developed that can represent provenance independently while maintaining a dynamic relationship with records, it can be ensure the fluidity of records and even support to secure the record's attributes and play the roles of provenance. Eventually, it proposed the direction to develop the provenance model which can support the fixity of records, the reproducibility of activities, and the trustworthiness of representations. It is expected to be a fit provenance model in the data-driven digital environment.

Uncertainty Analysis of Radar-Rainfall Estimation Process Using Three Uncertainty Quantitative Methods (3가지 불확실성 정량화 방법을 활용한 레이더 강우량 추정과정에서의 불확실성 분석)

  • 수문 기상레이더는 강우량을 바로 추정하지 못하고 여러 단계의 정량적 강우량 추정과정을 거치게 되므로 많은 불확실성 발생요소가 존재한다. 불확실성 관련한 기존 연구들은 정량적 레이더 기반 강우량 추정과정에서 보정방법을 이용하여 각 단계별 불확실성을 줄이는 연구들을 수행하였다. 하지만 기존 연구들은 전체 과정에 대한 포괄적인 불확실성을 나타내지 못하고 각 단계별 불확실성의 상대적인 비율도 제시하지 못하는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 정량적 레이더강우량 추정과정의 각 단계별 불확실성을 정량화하고 불확실성 전파를 나타낼 수 있는 적합한 방법을 제시하였다. 첫 번째로 초기와 최종 불확실성, 각 단계별 불확실성의 변동과 상대적인 비율을 나타낼 수 있는 새로운 개념을 제안하였다. 두 번째로 레이더기반 추정과정의 불확실성 정량화와 전파과정을 분석하기 위해 Maximum Entropy Method (MEM), Uncertainty Delta Method (UMD), Modified-Narrow Uncertainty Method (M-NUM)를 적용하였다. 세 번째로 레이더기반 강우량 추정과정의 불확실성 정량화를 위해 2개 품질관리 알고리즘, 2개 강우량 추정방법, 2개 후처리 강우량 보정방법을 2012년 여름철 18개 사례에 대하여 사용하였다. 적용결과, 최종 불확실성(후처리 강우량 보정 불확실성)이 초기 불확실성(품질관리 불확실성)보다 작게 나타나 불확실성이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 레이더강우량 추정단계의 불확실성은 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 레이더강우량 추정과정에서 각 단계별로 적합한 방법을 선정하는 것이 각 단계별로 불확실성이 감소시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 새로운 방법이 명확히 불확실성을 정량화할 수 있으며 정확한 정량적 레이더 강우추정에 기여할 것으로 판단한다.

A Narrative Study on User Satisfaction of Book Recommendation Service based on Association Analysis (연관성분석 기반 도서추천서비스의 이용자 만족에 관한 내러티브 연구)

  • It is not easy for information users to find books that are suitable for them in a knowledge information society. There is a growing need for libraries to break away from traditional services and provide user-tailored recommendation services, but there are few qualitative studies on user satisfaction so far. In this study, a user-customized book recommendation was performed by applying Apriori, a correlation analysis algorithm, and satisfaction factors were analyzed in depth through interviews. The experimental data was the loan data of 100 people who used the most frequently used loan data for 10 years from 2009 to 2019 of the S library in Seoul. The interviewees of the experiment were those who could be interviewed in depth. After the correlation analysis, the concepts and categories derived by analyzing the interview data were 59 concepts, 6 sub-categories, and 2 upper categories, respectively. The upper categories were 'reading' and 'book recommendation service'. In the 'reading' category, there were 16 concepts of motivation for reading, 8 concepts of preferred books, and 12 concepts of expected effects. Also, in the category of 'reading recommendation service', there were 10 'reflection factors', 4 'reflection methods', and 9 'satisfaction factors'.

An Exploratory Study on Acceptance Factors of IPTV Healthcare Service using Delphi Method (델파이 방법을 활용한 IPTV 헬스케어 서비스의 수용 요인 탐색)

  • The aim of this study was to explore the acceptance factors of IPTV healthcare users as convergence service through experts's opinion. First, this study extracted expected indicators for the acceptance factors from brainstorming and literature review. Based on the expected indicators, the Delphi method was performed in order to explore the suitable acceptance factors. The reliability of collected data was evaluated through the criteria of CV(Coefficient of Variation) and CVR(Contents Validity Ratio) on the selected indicators. The results showed a significant acceptance factors timeliness, the following appeared as entertainment, fun and self-efficacy and more. In the future, such additional step as factor analysis targeting the user to verify the validity of the selected factors is required.

조석영향 구간의 일유량 산정방법 평가

  • 수자원 계획 및 관리를 위한 지표 자료로서 일유량은 매우 유용하기 때문에 정확한 일유량 산정의 문제는 매우 중요하다. 그러나 우리나라의 경우 조석이나 배수 갑문 혹은 보 등에 의한 배수 영향으로 인해 수위-유량관계곡선식만으로 정상적인 유량산정이 어려운 지점이 다수 존재한다. 특히, 한강대교 지점과 같이 조석영향 구간에서 수위-유량관계곡선식에 의해 산정된 일유량은 자료에 대한 곡선식의 적합도 문제로 그 정확도가 매우 낮았다. 최근 자동유량측정에 의해 시간단위 이하의 실시간 유량이 생산되고 있고 이를 이용하여 일유량을 환산하고 있어 과거에 비해 보다 정확한 일유량 산정이 가능해 졌다. 그러나 신뢰도 있는 일유량을 안정적으로 제공하기 위해서는 보다 다양한 조건을 고려한 비교 검증 연구가 요구되는 실정이다. 이러한 배경에서 본 연구에서는 한강대교 지점과 같이 조석영향을 받는 지점의 일유량 산정방법 및 산정개념에 따른 유황의 차이와 적정성을 평가하여 보았다. 각 산정방법 및 산정개념 별로 산정된 일유량을 통해 유황을 산정하여 한강대교 지점의 일유량 산정방법에 대한 적정성을 평가하고 적절한 유황산정을 위한 목적별 대안을 제시하였다. 산정방법 별로는 기존의 수위-유량관계 곡선식으로 변환된 자료, 자동유량측정자료, 그리고 자동유량측정자료에서 조석성분을 제거한 순수 유출성분자료를 이용하여 일유량을 산정하였고, 이를 이용하여 산정된 유황에 대한 비교 분석을 실시하였다. 수위-유량관계곡선식에 의한 일유량은 수문조사연보의 자료를 이용하였고 자동유량자료를 이용한 일유량은 시자료를 평균하여 일유량으로 환산하는 방법을 사용하였다. 자동유량 자료에서 조석성분을 제거한 순수 유출성분의 추출은 웨이블릿 변환(wavelet transform)을 이용하였다. 각 방법별로 산정된 일유량을 비교한 결과 수위-유량관계곡선식에 의해 산정된 일유량이 자동 유량자료로 산정된 일유량에 비해 전반적으로 크게 나타났고, 2009년 한해 동안의 유출용적을 비교해 본 결과 18%정도 더 크게 산정되었다. 산정개념에 따른 비교에서는 조석성분 유량의 유효성 여부에 따른 유황을 비교하였으며, 조석성분 유량도 실효적 유량으로 간주한 경우 이론적 확률 분포형에 적합시켜 산정한 평균 갈수량은 15.7 ��/s(동절기 이상 거동기간인 2009년 11월 17일-12월 12일 기간을 제외하고 산정된 결과이나 불확실성은 잔존)에서 $53.2m^3/s$로 증가하였다. 따라서 유지유량의 목적상 경관용수나 생태용수가 중요한 지점으로 조석성분 유량이 이에 유효하다면, 유황산정을 위한 한강대교 지점의 일유량 산정방법은 다양한 목적에 비추어 추가적인 분석 검토가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.
