CdS Thin Films Properties Prepared by Chemical Bath Deposition Techniques for Photoresists

  • Chemical bath deposition (CBD) 기술에 의해 slide glass 기판 위에 CdS 박막을 적층 형성하였다. 적층된 박막들은 CdCl2와 thiorea (H2NCSNH2)를 증류수와 혼합 시dipping의 온도 조건, pH 조건, 시간 및 횟수를 달리하여 균일한 표면이 형성되도록 하였다. 적층된 박막은 $200^{\circ}C$ 이상의 고온에서 annealing하여 결정화하였다. 적층한 박막은 결정화 요인들을 XRD, FE-SEM, AFM, EDX, UV-Vis spectroscopy를 통해 조사하였다. 형성된 박막은 포토레지스터로 활용될 가능성을 조사하였다.

Seismic Retrofit Effect for Column of Subway Tunnel Reinforced by FRP-Ductile Material Layered Composites (FRP-연성재 적층복합체로 보강된 도시철도 개착식 터널 기둥의 내진보강효과)

  • Recently the earthquake occurrences in Korea are likely to increase. Therefore, the facilities such as bridges and tunnels under the unexpected earthquakes need to be enhanced. Especially most of the subways previously built before 1988 have not been seismically designed, so their seismic safety requirements are required to be inspected and/or reinforced. In this study, the seismic reinforcement using FRP-ductile material layered composites was proposed to reinforce for the subway columns. Material properties of FRP-ductile material layered composites were calculated by laboratory tests considering the laminated conditions of the composites. Numerical simulations were performed using the experimental results of the specimens and the calculated properties of the composites. Seismic performance varied according to the types of composites: ductile material, number of layers, fiber orientations.

Safety Evaluation of Radioactive Material Transport Package under Stacking Test Condition (방사성물질 운반용기의 적층시험조건에 대한 안전성 평가)

  • Radioactive waste transport package was developed to transport eight drums of low and intermediate level waste(LILW) in accordance with the IAEA and domestic related regulations. The package is classified with industrial package IP-2. IP-2 package is required to undergo a free drop test and a stacking test. After free drop and stacking tests, it should prevent the loss or dispersal of radioactive contents, and loss of shielding integrity which would result in more than 20 % increase in the radiation level at any external surface of the package. The objective of this study is to establish the safety test method and procedure for stacking test and to prove the structural integrities of the IP-2 package. Stacking test and analysis were performed with a compressive load equal to five times the weight of the package for a period of 24 hours using a full scale model. Strains and displacements were measured at the corner fitting of the package during the stacking test. The measured strains and displacements were compared with the analysis results, and there were good agreements. It is very difficult to measure the deflection at the container base, so the maximum deflection of the container base was calculated by the analysis method. The maximum displacement at the corner fitting and deflection at the container base were less than their allowable values. Dimensions of the test model, thickness of shielding material and bolt torque were measured before and after the stacking test. Throughout the stacking test, it was found that there were no loss or dispersal of radioactive contents and no loss of shielding integrity. Thus, the package was shown to comply with the requirements to maintain structural integrity under the stacking condition.

Design of Composite Laminate Bicycle Wheel considering Stacking Sequence (적층각을 고려한 복합재료 라미네이트 자전거 휠의 설계)

  • The strength design for the lightweight bicycle wheel made of the Carbon/Epoxy composite laminates has been discussed in this paper. For bicycle wheel design, lightness of the wheel is important. Also, it has to satisfy the required strength under specific loading cases. Two testing methods for the bicycle wheel, i.e. vertical and complex loadings, are adopted in this study. Because the strengths of composite wheel is different in relation to the stacking sequence and the number of plies, it is important to decide an appropriate stacking sequence and number of layers for the composite wheel. From the finite element analysis results, the most stable sequence orientation and number of layers are determined. The stacking sequence $[0]_{8n}$, $[90]_{8n}$, $[0/90]_{2ns}$, $[{\pm}45]_{2ns}$, $[0/{\pm}45/90]_{ns}$ (n=1,2,3,4)are performed for finite element analysis. From results, $[0/{\pm}45/90]_{3s}$ lay-up is a good selection for the composite bicycle wheel. Also, the weakest point and layer are found in this study.

  • 변압기, 케이블, 한류기와 같은 고온초전도 선재의 전력기기의 개발과 응용에 있어서 교류손실은 기기의 운용과 효율에 밀접한 관계가 있기 때문에 중요한 연구 분야가 되고 있다. 또한 현재 전력기기에 응용 하고 있는 고온초전도 선재는 전력기기에 필요한 통전용량을 수용 할 수 없기 때문에 이를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 선재를 적층하여 통전용량을 증대시키는 다양한 방법이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 고온초전도 선재의 적층배열을 달리 하였을 때, 외부자계에 의한 고온초전도 선재의 자화손실 특성에 대해서 연구하였다. 선재의 적층 배열의 형상은 Edge-to-Edge, Face-to-Face형과 Matrix형이며, 적층배열에 사용한 선재의 개수는 2, 4, 8개이다. 연구결과, 동일한 적층 수의 조건하에서 Face-to-Face형의 적층배열이 다른 종류의 배열보다 자화손실이 낮음을 확인하였고, 이는 Face-to-Face 형태로 적층 될 때 인접선재로 인한 자기차폐효과가 다른 배열의 경우보다 우수하기 때문으로 보인다.

수직방향으로 적층된 InAs 양자점의 광학적 특성

  • 양자점(Quantum dot : QD)를 이용한 소자를 만들기 위해서는 수직방향으로의 적층이 필수적이다. 양자점의 적층은 수직적으로 같은 위치에 정렬하므로, 고려되어야 할 요소로는 양자점간의 파동함수의 중첩(coupling)에 의한 특성변화, 적층의 진행에 따른 변형(strain)의 증가로 기인되는 volcano 모양으로 나타나는 결함등이 있다. 이러한 결함은 nonradiative recombination center로 작용하여 오히려 효율이 떨어지게 되는 현상이 발생하게 되므로 본 연구에서는 적층횟수에 따른 발광효율의 변화를 조사하여 소자응용에 적절한 적층 조건을 조사하였다. 시료성장은 molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) 장치를 이용하여 GAs(100) 기판위에 GaAs buffer를 58$0^{\circ}C$에서 150nm 성장후 InAs/GaAs 양자점과 50$0^{\circ}C$에서 적층회수 1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 20회로 하였으며 적층성장 이후 GaAs cap layer를 성장하였다. GaAs spacing과 cap layer의 성장온도 역시 50$0^{\circ}C$이며 시료의 분석은 photoluminescence (PL)과 scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM)으로 하였다. 적층횟수를 바꾸어 시료를 성장하기 전에 적층횟수를 10회로 고정하고 spacing 두께를 2.8nm, 5.6nm, 11.2nm로 바꾸어 성장하여 PL 특성을 관찰하여본 결과 spacing이 2.8nm인 경우 수직적으로 정렬된 양자점 간에 coupling이 매우 커서 single layer QD의 PL peak에 비해 약 100nm 정도 파장이 증가하였고, spacing의 두께가 11.2nm 일 경우는 single layer QD와 거의 같은 파장의 빛을 방출하여 중첩이 거의 일어나지 않지만 두꺼운 spacing때문에 PL세기가 감소하였다. 한편, 적층회수에 따른 광학적 특성을 PL로 조사하여 본 결과 peak 파장은 적층횟수가 1회에서 3회로 증가했을 때는 blue shift 하다가 이후 적층이 증가함에 따라 red shift 하였다. 그리고 10층 이상의 적층에서는 excited state에서 기인된 peak이 검출되었다. 이렇나 원인은 적층수가 증가함에 따라 carrier life time이 증가하여 exciter state에 carrier가 존재할 확률이 증가하기 때문으로 생각된다. 또한 PL 세기가 다소 증가하다가 10층 이상의 경우는 다시 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 반치폭도 3층과 6층에서 가장 적은 값을 보였다. 이와 같은 결과는 결함생성과 관련하여 STEM 분석으로 해석되어질 수 있는데 6층 적층시는 양자점이 수직적으로 정렬되어 잘 형성됨을 관찰할 수 있었고 적층에 따른 크기 변화도 거의 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 10층 15층 적층시 몇가지 결함이 형성됨을 볼수 있었고 양자점의 정렬도 완전하게 이루어지지 않음을 볼 수 있었다. 그러므로 수직적층된 InAs 양자점의 광학적 특성은 성장조건에 따른 결함생성과 밀접한 관련이 있으며 상세한 논의가 이루어질 것이다.

Finite Difference Nonlinear Analysis of Composite Plate Structures with Various Layer Sequences (다양한 적층 배열을 갖는 복합 신소재 판 구조물의 유한차분 비선형 해석)

  • This study carries out a finite difference nonlinear analysis of anisotropic advanced composite plate structures with various layer sequences. In the numerical analysis of various mechanical problems involving complex partial differential equations, the finite difference method (FDM) developed in this study has an advantage over the finite element method in its ability to avoid mesh generation and numerical integration. Many studies in FDM have been made on clamped or simple boundary conditions using merely an energy approach. These approaches cannot be satisfied, however, with pivotal points along the free boundary. Therefore, this study addresses the nonlinear problem of anisotropic plates by adopting a finite difference modeling elimination of pivotal difference points in the case of a free boundary condition. Complex nonlinear behaviors of composite plate structures for various parameters, especially for layer sequences, are analyzed using the proposed approach.

  • Optimization Analysis of angle-ply laminated shells, having one pair of opposite edges supported, are investigated on the basis of the first-order shear deformation theory. The equations of motion of the shell are solved by the use of ritz method. A range of results are presented for composite shells to show the effects of lamination angle and number of layers on natural frequency. In addition, an analysis of the strain energy distributions is used as an aid for the better understanding of the vibration characteristics of the shells.

Free Vibration Analysis of Multi-Delaminated Beams (다층 층간분리된 적층보의 자유진동해석)

  • In the present study, free vibration analysis of multi-delaminated beams is performed. In order to investigate the effects of mu1ti-delaminations on the dynamic characteristics of multi-delaminated beams, the general kinematic continuity conditions are derived from the assumption of constant curvature at the multi-delamination tip. Frequency equations of multi-delaminated beams are obtained by dividing the global multi-delaminated beam into beam segments and by imposing recurrence relation from the continuity conditions un each sub-beam. The comparisons between the results of numerical analysis obtained by finite element analysis and those of present analysis give good agreement with each other. It is shown that the effects of multi-delaminations on free vibration characteristics of laminated beams could be used to detect their sizes, types and locations from the results.

  • Free vibration of a thin-walled laminated composite beam is studied. A general analytical model applicable to the dynamic behavior of a thin-walled channel section composite is developed. This model is based on the classical lamination theory, and accounts for the coupling of flexural and torsional modes for arbitrary laminate stacking sequence configuration. i.e. unsymmetric as well as symmetric, and various boundary conditions. A displacement-based one-dimensional finite element model is developed to predict natural frequencies and corresponding vibration modes for a thin-walled composite beam. Equations of motion are derived from the Hamilton's principle. Numerical results are obtained for thin-walled composite addressing the effects of fiber angle. modulus ratio. and boundary conditions on the vibration frequencies and mode shapes of the composites.
