Air Quality Monitoring System Using NDIR-CO$_2$ Sensor for Underground Space based on Wireless Sensor Network (비분산적의선 CO$_2$센서를 이용한 무선 센서 네트워크 기반의 지하 공기질 모니터링 시스템)

  • In this study, a remote air quality monitoring system for underground spaces was developed by using NDIR-based CO$_2$ sensor. And the remote monitoring system based on wireless sensor networks was installed practically on the subway station platform. More than 6.5 million citizens commutate everyday by the Seoul subway transportation that is the most typical public transportation. They concern about air quality with increasing interest on public health or many workers in subway stations or underground shopping centers. Recently, the Korean Ministry of Environment has operated the air quality monitoring system in some subway stations for testing phase. However, it showed many defects which are large-scale, high-cost and maintenance of precision sensors imported from abroad. Therefore this research includes the reliability test and a theoretical study about the inexpensive commercialized CO$_2$ sensor for reliable measurement of air quality which changes rapidly by the surrounding environments. And then we develop the wireless sensor nodes and the gateway applied for remote air quality monitoring. In addition, web server program was realized to manage air quality in the subway platform. This result will be valuable for a basic research for air quality management in underground spaces for future study.

  • In this study, the basic research verifying possibility of applications as radiology image sensor in Digital Radiography was performed, the radiology image sensor was fabricated using double layer technique tio decrease dark current. High efficiency material in substitution for a-Se have been studied as a direct method of imaging detector in Digital Radiography to decrease dark current by using Hetero junction already used as solar cell, semiconductor. Particle-In-Binder method is used to fabricate radiology image sensor because it has a lot of advantages such as fabrication convenient, high yield, suitability for large area sensor. But high leakage current is one of main problem in PIB method. To make up for the weak points, double layer technique is used, and it is considered that high efficient digital radiation sensor can be fabricated with easy and convenient process. In this study, electrical properties such as leakage current, sensitivity is measured to evaluate double layer radiation sensor material.

Investigation and Effect Analysis for Silvicultural Activities with Forest Road Extablishment (임도개설(林道開設)에 따른 삼림시업(森林施業)의 실태해석(實態解析) 및 효과분석(效果分析))

  • Based on forestry inventory data and various informations, this study was conducted to analyze the silvicultural activities by distance classes from forest road and to evaluate their effects in the area of Mt. Gari managed by Chunchon Regional Office of Northern Forest Management Office. The results were summarized as follows; 1) Most harvesting practice(67.9%) was done within 500m from forest roads, in the order of Pumgul, Saorang, and Kongkol forest road. And thinning practice was not related to the distance from forest road, produced $440.6m^3$, 35.7% of total thinning volume within 1,000m width along the forest roads. 2) Planting of 530,461 seedlings, 66.8% of total planting stock, in 176.9ha, 66.6% of total area within 1,000m from forest road, and supplementary planting of 46,243 seedlings was done in 15.4ha, 42.9% of total area within 500m from forest road. Areas and numbers of seedlings of two planting practices were in the order of Pumgul and Byungatur forest road. 3) Tending operation was done in 330.0ha, 60.3% of total area within 500m from forest road, and pre-commercial thinning was done in 693.6ha, 71.2% of total area. Areas of intermediate cutting practices were in the order of Pumgul, Korkol, and Saorang forest road.

Radiation detector material development with multi-layer by hetero-junction for the reduction of leakage current (헤테르접합을 이용한 누설전류 저감을 위한 다층구조의 방사선 검출 물질 개발)

High efficiency materials in substitution for Amorphous Selenium(a-Se) have been studied as a direct method of imaging detector in Digital Radiography to decrease dark current by using PN junction or Hetero junction already used as solar cell, semiconductor. Particle-In -Binder method is used to fabricate radiology image sensor because it has a lot of advantages such as fabrication convenient, high yield, suitability for large area sensor. But high leakage current is one of main problem in Particle-In -Binder method. To make up for the weak points, multi-layer technique is used, and it is considered that high efficient digital radiation sensor can be fabricated with easy and convenient process. In this study, electrical properties such as leakage current, sensitivity, signal linearity is measured to evaluate multi-layer radiation sensor material.

  • 터치패널은 키보드나 마우스와 같은 입력장치를 사용하지 않고, 스크린에 손가락, 펜 등을 접촉하여 입력하는 방식이다. 누구나 쉽게 입력할 수 있는 장점으로 인해 기존에는 현금인출기, 키오스크 등 공공분야에 주로 많이 사용되어 왔으나, 최근의 터치스크린은 휴대폰, 게임기, 네비게이션, 노트북 모니터 등 개인정보기기의 입력장치로 활용분야가 넓어져가고 있다. 최근의 정전용량 방식의 터치패널은 디스플레이 패널 위에 올여지는 형태의 Add on type이며, 테블렛의 출현으로 터치패널의 사이즈가 커지면서 인듐산화물 투명성 전도막의 두께가 두꺼워지고, 이로 인하여 광학적 특성인 투과율이 저하되는 문제가 발생하여 투과율을 높여주기 위한 새로운 전도박막 제조방법이 요구되는 상황이다. 현재의 고글절 산화물(TiO2)과 저굴절 산화물(SiO2)의 적층형태의 저반사 특성의 다층막은 주로 플라즈마 보조의 전자빔 증착기를 이용하여 제조되기 때문에, 저반사 특성이 우수하지만 대면적 크기의 대량생산에는 적합하지가 않다. 그리고 태양전지의 에너지 변환효율도 태양전지로 흡수되는 태양광의 량에 크게 의존하기 때문에, 태양전지로 흡수되는 태양광 량을 높이기 위하여 태양전지의 가장 위층에 혹은 모듈 제작시 커버유리의 내부에 저반사 특성을 갖는 박막을 코팅한다. 특히 박막태양전지의 경우는 대면적의 유리위에 저반사 코팅을 해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 In-line magnetron sputtering system을 사용하여 소다라임 유리 기판 위에 고글절 산화물(Nb2O5)과 저굴절 산화물(SiO2)의 2층 적층형태의 "SiO2/Nb2O5/SiO2/Nb2O5/SLG" 다층 박막을 증착하고, 저반사의 광학적 특성을 하였고, 이를 논하고자한다. 일반적으로 빛이 투과되는 투명한 기판이 공기층에 노출되어있을 경우에 기판의 양면에서 공기층과의 계면에서 각각 4%의 반사율 즉, 총 8%의 반사율을 갖는데, 본 연구의 다층 박막에서는 530에서 540nm 파장 영역에서 투과율은 95% 이상, 반사율은 4.8% 이하이었다. 이 결과는 터치패널과 박막태양전지 시장의 Needs에 대응할 수 있기 때문에 산업의 응용측면에서 매우 중요한 연구 성과를 얻었다고 말할 수 있다. 3D Precision Measurement of Scanning Moire Using Line Scan Camera (라인스캔 카메라를 이용한 3차원 정밀 측정)

  • This paper presents the Projection Moire method using a line scan camera. The high resolution feature of a line scan camera makes it possible to scan an image quickly, thus enabling a much quicker 3D profile. This method uses a high resolution line scan camera making it possible to scan an image at high speed simultaneously measuring the 3D profile of a large FOV. When using a high resolution scan camera, a full FOV is scanned, thus requiring just one movement of a projection grating. As a result, the number of grating movements is reduced drastically. The end result is a faster and more accurate 3D measurement. Moving the grating too quickly causes vibration in the imaging system, which will normally be required to apply a stitching technique when using an area scan camera. However the technique is not required when using a line scan camera. Compared with the previous techniques, it has the advantages of simple hardware without moving mechanical parts - single exposure for obtaining three-dimensional information. A method using a high resolution line scan camera can be used in mass production to measure the bump height of wafers or the bump height of package substrates.

Fabrication of Poly(methyl methacrylate) Beads Monolayer Using Rod-coater and Effects of Solvents, Surfactants and Plasma Treatment on Monolayer Structure (Rod 코팅을 이용한 Poly(methyl methacrylate) 비드의 단일층 형성 및 단일층 구조에 미치는 용매, 계면활성제, 플라즈마 처리의 영향)

  • Fabrication of monolayer is important method for enhancing physical and chemical characteristics such as light shielding and antireflection while maintaining thin film properties. In previous studies, monolayers were fabricated by various methods on small substrates, but processes were complicated and difficult to form monolayers with large area. We used rod coating equipment with a small amount of coating liquid to form a HCP (hexagonal closed packing) coating of PMMA beads on PET(poly(ethylene terephthalate)) substrate with $20cm{\times}20cm$ size. We observed that changes in morphologies of monolayers by using the solvents with different boiling points and vapor pressures, by adapting surfactants on particles and by applying plasma treatment on substrates. The coverage was increased by 20% by optimizing the coating conditions including meniscus of beads, control of the attraction - repulsion forces and surface energy. This result can potentially be applied to optical films and sensors because it is possible to make a uniform and large-scale monolayer in a simple and rapid manner when it is compared to the methods in previous studies.

Study on the Perception and Intake of Kimchi of Middle School Students in Gwangju Area (광주지역 중학생의 김치에 대한 인식과 섭취실태에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception and intake of Kimchi in middle school students in Gwangju area and analyzed the difference of Kimchi intake according to Kimchi perception level to provide basic data to help middle school students develop proper dietary behavior. The data were collected from middle school students in Gwangju area and 374 questionnaires were used for analysis. The main results of this study are as follows. First, the perception of Kimchi of middle school students was 4.10 for first grade and 3.92 for third grade, showed significant difference (p<0.001) between first grade and third grade. Second, the preference of Kimchi of middle school students by grade showed significant difference between first grade and third grade at 'Kimchi preference' (p<0.001) and 'Reasons for not eating Kimchi' (p<0.05) respectively. 81.7% in the first graders and 59.8% in the third graders, and the first graders more preferred Kimchi than the third graders. Third, the pattern of Kimchi intake of middle school students by grade showed significant difference between first grade and third grade at 'Frequency of Kimchi intake' (p<0.05) and 'Amount of Kimchi taken at one time' (p<0.05) respectively. Fourth, the education of Kimchi of middle school students by grade showed significant difference between first grade and third grade at 'My attitude toward Kimchi recommendation' (p<0.05), 'Necessity of Kimchi intake education' (p<0.05), 'Whether you think it is good food for Kimchi information' (p<0.001), 'Preferred method for the Kimchi education' (p<0.001) and 'Methods for increasing Kimchi intake' (p<0.05) respectively. Fifth, the preference of Kimchi of middle school students by the degree of Kimchi recognition showed significant difference at 'Kimchi preference' (p<0.001), 'Reasons for liking Kimchi' (p<0.05) and 'Reasons for disliking Kimchi' (p<0.05) respectively. The pattern of Kimchi intake of middle school students by the degree of Kimchi recognition showed significant difference at 'Frequency of Kimchi intake' (p<0.001) and 'Amount of Kimchi taken at one time'(p<0.05) respectively. The the education of Kimchi of middle school students by the degree of Kimchi recognition showed significant difference at 'My attitude toward Kimchi recommendation' (p<0.05), 'The experience of making Kimchi' (p<0.05), 'Necessity of Kimchi intake education' (p<0.001) and 'Whether you think it is good food for Kimchi information' (p<0.001) respectively.

Change of Lung Volumes in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Patients with Improvement of Airflow Limitation after Treatment (치료 후 기류제한이 호전된 만성폐쇄성폐질환 환자에서 폐용적의 변화)

  • Background : It is important to predict the exercise capacity and dyspnea, as measurements of lung volume, in patients with COPD. However, lung volume changes in response to an improvement in airflow limitation have not been explored in detail. In the present study, it is hypothesized that lung volume responses might not be accurately predicted by flow responses in patients with moderate to severe airflow limitations. Methods : To evaluate lung volume responses, baseline and follow up, flow and lung volumes were measured in moderate to severe COPD patients. The flow response was defined by an improvement in the $FEV_1$ of more than 12.3%; lung volume changes were analyzed in 17 patients for the flow response. Results : The mean age of the subjects was 66 years; 76% were men. The mean baseline $FEV_1$, $FEV_1$/FVC and RV were 0.98L (44.2% predicted), 47.5% and 4.65 L (241.5%), respectively. The mean follow up duration was 80 days. The mean differences in the $FEV_1$, FVC, TLC and RV were 0.27 L, 0.39 L, -0.69 L and -1.04 L, respectively, during the follow up periods. There was no correlation between the delta $FEV_1$ and delta RV values(r=0.072, p=0.738). Conclusion : To appropriately evaluate the lung function in patients with moderate to severe airflow limitations; serial lung volume measurements would be helpful.

Analysis of Correlation with Cross Sectional Area of Flow and Flow Rate Variation of Discharge Measurement Point in the Upper Stream of Seomjin River (섬진강상류 유량측정지점의 유수단면적과 유량변화에 따른 상관관계 분석)

  • This study was carried out to determine the variation of the water level and crosssection area for investigating changes of stream foreland, and to determine the correlation between the average flow velocity and cross-section area so as to understand the hydrological characteristics of the stream. The slope of the cross-sectional area was changed in water levels of 0.6~1.0 m and 1.8~2.0 m. The first change occurred in the low-water level season, and the second change occurred in the high-water level seasons. It is assumed that the changes occurred due to the geological transfigure. The correlation between the cross-sectional area and the average flow velocity was 0.22~0.86 in the exponential equation and 0.20~0.87 in the linear equation. The low water level had a higher correlation than the high water level, and free weirs in the upper stream showed a very low correlation. Therefore, this study provides novel information for the management of water quality in the riverside, using correlation equations of the water level and flow velocity with the cross section area.
