  • The purpose of this study was to verify the mediating effect of adaptive/maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies in the relation between perceived spouse's covert narcissism and marital satisfaction. For this purpose, 300 adults who were married in Seoul and Gyeonggi province were subjected to covert narcissism, marital satisfaction, and cognitive emotion regulation strategy scale and analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program. The results of the study was followed. First, perceived spouse's covert narcissism showed a significant negative correlation with marital satisfaction and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy, whereas it showed a significant positive correlation with maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy. The marital satisfaction showed a significant positive correlation with adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy, but a significant negative correlation with maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy. Second, adaptive/maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies partially mediated the effects of perceived spouse's covert narcissism of on marital satisfaction. Based on these results, the implications and limitations of this study and suggestions for future research were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of adaptive cognitive emotion regulation and the moderating effect of supervisor's emotional regulation in the relationship between the emotion recognition and negative feedback acceptance of employees. The data was collected from 273 non-managerial workers in various domestic companies. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted with AMOS 22 to verify the reliability and validity of the measurement tool, and the mediating and moderating effects were examined using SPSS Process Macro to verify the hypothesis. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, emotion recognition of employees indirectly affects the acceptance of negative feedback through adaptive cognitive emotional regulation. Second, the effect of emotion recognition on negative feedback acceptance is moderated by supervisor's emotion regulation. Specifically, it was confirmed that when the supervisor's emotional control is low, the relationship between emotional recognition and negative feedback acceptance becomes stronger. Based on the results of the study, it was confirmed that the level of awareness of oneself and others' emotions was psychological process of accepting performance-related feedback, and the importance of supervisor's emotional regulation in positively accepting negative feedback. Finally, based on the research results, the academic significance of this study, implications in coaching practice, limitations, and future research were discussed.

The research results are as follows. First, Post-traumatic stress, suicidal ideation, adaptive cognitive emotion regulation, and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation were correlated. second, A hierarchical regression analysis was conducted in order to examine the moderating effect of cognitive emotion regulation in the relationship between post-traumatic stress and suicidal ideation, and as a result, it was found that a sub-factor of cognitive emotion regulation, adaptive cognitive emotion regulation had a moderating effect in a group of persons with low post-traumatic stress, while maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation had a moderating effect in a group of persons with high post-traumatic stress. These results, this study discussed the necessity of follow-up studies, in addition to its academic and clinical implications.

The participants of this study were 181 new graduate nurses who have worked for less than 1 year at a hospital, data was collected by using self-report questionaires. The results of this study were fear of negative evaluation score 3.25, cognitive emotion regulation score 3.18 and field adaptation score 2.92. Fear of negative evaluation had a positive correlation with maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation, and a negative correlation with field adaptation, and did not have on moderating effect. As this results, it strengthen field adaptation for new graduate nurses in a new circumstance through self-esteem enhancement programs. It is also required to manage by using an adaptive cognitive emotion regualtion.

  • This study investigated the effect of student-perceived teacher's calling on student's well-being and the mediating effects of student-perceived emotional support and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies. We analyzed data from 494 high school students in South Korea by using structural equation modeling. The results showed that student-perceived emotional support from the teachers mediated the relationship between student-perceived teacher's calling and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies. Also, adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies mediated the relationship between student-perceived emotional support and student's well-being. Furthermore, student-perceived emotional support and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies sequentially mediated the indirect positive relationship between student-perceived teacher's calling and student's well-being. Based on these results, implications and recommendations for future research are discussed.

  • Based on advanced research, this study examined the relations between savoring belief and gratitude, and identify a model of the mediating mechanisms of positive affect and cognitive emotion regulation in the relation between savoring belief and gratitude. For this purpose, savoring belief, positive affect, cognitive emotion regulation, and gratitude were measured, among 485 adults. Using a structural equation model, hypothesis and the patterns of variables was confirmed. The results showed that savoring belief, gratitude, positive affect, adaptive cognitive emotion regulation have the positive correlation and savoring belief, gratitude, positive affect was negatively correlated with maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation. The dual mediation effect by positive affect and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation was also verified. Implications for clinical practice, limitations of the study and suggestions for future researches are discussed.

  • The purpose of the current study was to examine dual mediation effect of executive function deficiencies and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies in the relation of smartphone addiction and subjective well-being and to suggest implications for adult smartphone addiction intervention programs. A self-report survey was conducted to 148 adults(71 males and 77 females) and the mediation effect was evaluated by regression analyses. Key findings are as follows. First, executive function deficiencies showed mediation effect on the relationship between smartphone addiction and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies. Second, significant mediation effect of adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies was not found on the relationship between smartphone addiction and subjective well-being. Finally, the relation of smarphone addiction and subjective well-being was mediated by executive function deficiencies and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies. These results imply that it would be helpful to train executive function and foster emotion regulation strategies to the adult smartphone addiction groups. Finally, limitations of this study and suggestions for future research of the entire adult age group were discussed.

  • This study examined the cognitive emotion regulation strategies and professional quality of life to identify factors affecting the professional quality of life in hospital nurses. The participants were 176 staff nurses working at a university hospital in Seoul. Data were collected using a structured online questionnaire from March 3 to 16, 2020. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 25.0. The cognitive emotion regulation strategies of hospital nurses were identified as factors affecting the professional quality of life. Adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy (β=.501, p<.001) had significant effects on the participants' compassion satisfaction, and the explanatory power was 24.8%. The variables affecting burnout were adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy (β=-.435, p<.001), maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy (β=.427, p<.001), and educational level (β=.188, p=.046), and the explanatory power was 36.8%. In addition, the maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy (β=.502, p<.001) had significant effects on secondary traumatic stress of the participants, and the explanatory power was 24.4%. Based on this, it is necessary to develop programs to improve the professional quality of life of hospital nurses, focusing on acquiring adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies and using less maladaptive strategies.
