The Non-destructive Inspection Using Infrared Thermal Technique on Reinforced Slopes by Shotcrete (적외선 열화상을 이용한 숏크리트 보강사면의 비파괴점검)

  • It needs to Prevent damage as aging shotcrete itself exists as a dangerous component to comuting vehicles or infrastructure due to scaling, spaling, and loosening. However, it is hard to make an approach owing to a steep slope and high work, and there has been indicated a limit that it is difficult to grasp the internal condition of shotcrete on the surface. This study aimed to research internal defects that cannot be observed from the surface, by measuring a subtle thermal transfer on the shotcrete surface by using infrared thermography for overcoming such a technical limit. As a result of conducting an inspection through an analysis on measured data and fieldwork using an endoscope camera, it was impossible to accurately determine the wet part because of an excessive coating of shotcrete, yet, This study is proposed effictively extract a void part of the inside with non-destructive and non-touching method.

A Study on the Dielectric Properties and Electrical Conduction of PVDF Thin Films by Physical Vapor Deposition (진공 증착법으로 제작한 PVDF 박막의 유전 특성과 전기전도도에 대한 연구)

  • The 3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$-thick PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) thin film have been prepared using physical vapor deposition with electric field, and its FT-IR spectrum, dielectric property and electric conduction phenomenon have been investigated. Since the characteristic peaks are detected at 509.45 [$cm^{-1}$ /] and 1273.6 [$cm^{-1}$ /]in the FT-IR spectrum, we are confirmed that the $\beta$ -phase is dominant in the PVDF thin film. In the results of dielectric properties, the PVDF thin film shows anomalous dispersion, i.e. gradual decrease of dielectric constant with increase of frequency, and also that the dielectric absorption point changes from 200 Hz to 7000 Hz with increasing temperature of thin film, which is consistent with the Debye's theory. The activation energy ( $\Delta$H) obtained from temperature dependence of dielectric loss is 21.64 ㎉/mole. We confirm that the electric conduction mechanism of PVDF thin film is dominated by ionic conduction by investigating the dependence of the leakage current of the thin film on the temperature and the electric field.

Sensitivity Study on the Infra-Red Signature of Naval Ship According to the Composition Ratio of Exhaust Plume (폐기가스 조성 비율이 적외선 신호에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • Infrared signatures emitted from naval ships are mainly classified into internal signatures generated by the internal combustion engine of the ship and external signatures generated from the surface of the ship heated by solar heat. The internal signatures are also affected by the chemical components ($CO_2$, $H_2O$, CO and soot) of the exhaust plumes generated by the gas turbine and diesel engine, which constitute the main propulsion system. Therefore, in this study, the chemical composition ratios of the exhaust plumes generated by the gas turbines and diesel engines installed in domestic naval ships were examined to identify the chemical components and their levels. The influence of the chemical components of the exhaust plumes and their ratios on the infrared signatures of a naval ship was investigated using orthogonal arrays. The infrared signature intensity of the exhaust plumes calculated using infrared signature analysis software was converted to the signal-to-noise ratio to facilitate the analysis. The signature analysis showed that $CO_2$, soot and $H_2O$ are the major components influencing the mid-wave infrared signatures of both the gas turbine and diesel engine. In addition, it was confirmed that $H_2O$ and $CO_2$ are the major components influencing the long-wave infrared signatures.

Evaluation of Feed Values for Whole Crop Rice Using Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (근적외선분광법을 이용한 사료용 벼의 사료가치 평가)

  • In this study, whole crop rice samples were used to develop near-infrared reflectance (NIR) equations to estimate six forage quality parameters: Moisture, crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), Ash and relative feed value (RFV). A population of 564 whole crop rice representing a wide range in chemical parameters was used in this study. Undried finely chopped whole crop rice samples were scanned at 1 nm intervals over the wavelength range 680-2500 nm and the optical data recorded as log 1/Reflectance (log 1/R). NIRS calibrations were developed by means of partial least-squares (PLS) regression. The correlation coefficients of cross-validation (R2cv) and standard error of cross-validation (SECV) for whole crop rice calibration were 0.98 (SECV 1.81%) for moisture, 0.89 (SECV 0.50%) for CP, 0.86 (SECV 1.79%) for NDF, 0.89 (SECV 0.86%) for ash, and 0.84 (SECV 5.21%) for RFV on a dry matter (%), respectively. The NIRS calibration equations developed in this study will be useful in predicting whole crop rice quality for these six quality parameters.

Effect of Alkali Promoter on the CO Adsorption of Silica Supported Transition Metal Catalysts (실리카 지지 전이원소 금속촉매의 일산화탄소 흡착에 미치는 알칼리 촉진제의 영향)

  • In order to elucidate the effect of alkali promoter on chemisorption of carbon monoxide on silica supported transition metal catalysts we have investigated the infrared spectra for carbon monoxide chemisorbed on silica supported nickel with and without potassium coating within the frequency range of 1800 ~ 2100cm$^{-1}$ at various nickel concentrations and CO pressures. For the system without potassium coating the IR band intensities are found to greatly depend on the nickel conwgfra concentration although the band positions are scarcely affected. The band positions are nearly coincident with those reported by other people, but we have clarified that the 2057cm$^{-1}$ band arises from Ni(CO)$_4$ molecules physisorbed on silicagel. Besides this, the effect of temperature on CO chemisorption has also been investigated. On coating with potassium we have found that all the bands observed for the system without potassium coating suffer red shifts by 2 ~ 10cm$^{-1}$ and the formation of Ni(CO)$_4$ is inhibited. Furthermore, we have recognized that on the nickel surface with potassium coating a disproportionation may occur to yield carbon dioxide molecules.

Thermal Stability of Polarized UV Exposed Polyimide Films for Liquid Crystal Display (편광 자외선이 조사된 액정 디스플레이용 폴리이미드 필름의 열 안정성)

  • We studied the orientation behavior and thermal stability of polyimide (PI) molecules under irradiation of polarized UV (PUV) using polarized fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. In the case of PUV-exposed PI films, the remaining PI molecules after photo-degradation showed molecular orientation perpendicular to the irradiated PUV polarization direction predominantly, due to the preferential degradation of PI molecules parallel to the irradiated PUV Polarization direction. On the other hand, the rubbing of PI films induced reorientation of the PI molecules parallel to the rubbing direction. We also investigated the thermal stability of the alignment layers furled by rubbing and PUV irradiation on the PI films using Polarized FTIR. The thermal stability of the PUV irradiated PI alignment layer is lower than that of the rubbed PI layer due to the fragmentation reaction of the PI by PUV.

  • In this paper, we developed an explosion proof type and portable combustible gas leak detector and proposed an algorithm to improve the accuracy for measuring gaseous concentrations. The nation's first we developed an infrared gas leak detector with explosion proof standard(Ex d ib) and improved measuring accuracy by using linearization recursion equation and 2nd Lagrange interpolation polynomial. Together, we advanced their performances and added their easy functions after investigating field demands. To compare our and other company's detectors, we performed measurement tests with eight standard gases made by Korea Gas Safety Corporation. We demonstrated the excellence of our instruments in measuring accuracy other than detecters through experimental results.

적외선 센서용 VOx/ZnO/VOx 박막 증착 및 특성 연구

  • 비냉각 적외선 검출기는 산업용 군사용으로 최근 각광을 받고 있다. 이는 주야간 빛이 없는 곳에서도 사물의 열을 감지할 수 있어 인체감지 및 보안감시, 에너지 절감 등에 응용될 수 있는 핵심부품이다. 비냉각 적외선 검출기로는 재료의 저항의 변화를 감지하는 마이크로볼로미터형이 가장 많이 사용된다. 감지재료로는 비정질 실리콘(a-Si)과 산화바나듐(VOx)이 가장 많이 사용된다. VOx 박막은 일반적으로 RF sputtering 방법으로 증착이 되며, 저항이 낮고, 저항의 온도변화 계수(TCR)가 크며 신호 대 잡음 특성이 우수한 반면 산소(oxygen) phase가 다양하여 갓 증착된 상태의 박막은 재현성이 떨어지는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 V 타겟을 사용한 VOx 박막을 증착하는 방법을 개선하여 ZnO 나노박막을 중간에 삽입하여 저항 특성을 조절할 뿐만 아니라 열처리에 의해 TCR 값을 향상시키고, VO2 phase 가 주로 나타나는 박막 증착 및 공정 방법을 소개한다. RF sputtering 장비를 이용하여 산소와 아르곤 가스의 혼합비를 4.5로 하였으며, VOx 증착 시 플라즈마 Power는 150 W 로 하여 상온에서 증착하였다. 갓 증착된 VOx 다층박막의 XRD 스펙트럼은 V2O5 피크가 주된 상을 이루고 있었으며, 산소열처리에 의해 VO2 상이 주로 나타남을 알 수 있었다. TCR 값은 갓 증착된 샘플에서 -0.13%/K의 값을 얻었으며, $300^{\circ}C$에서 50분간 열처리 후 -3.37%/K 으로 급격히 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 저항은 열처리 후 약 100 kohm으로 낮아져 검출소자를 위한 조건에 적합한 특성을 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 산소열처리의 온도 및 시간에 따라 TCR 및 표면 거칠기 특성을 조사하였으며, 최적의 열처리 조건을 얻고자 하였다.

  • We examined the causes of the damage of a Joseon Buddhist painting, "Ten Kings of the Hell", for which we had performed conservation treatment while preparing for the special exhibition entitled "A Journey into the Joseon Buddhist Paintings", presented by the National Museum of Korea. For the parts that could not be easily observed by naked eyes, we examined it with microscopes, X-rays and infrared rays. Hereby we introduced the result of the scientific examination performed prior to the conservation treatment, and arranged its process for the "Ten Kings of the Hell".

  • 중적외선 분광학(mid-IR spectrocopy) 에서는 2.5~15 $\mu\textrm{m}$ 의 파장을 갖는 적외선을 시료에 조사하여 absorption spectrum 을 측정하는데 이 대역은 주로 분자들의 fundamental band 가 나타나는 영역으로 각 분자의 characteristic absorption band 가 비교적 깨끗하게 분리되어 있어 특정 compound 의 존재 유무를 확인하는데 쓰여 왔다. 그러나 보통의 경우에 시료에는 한 가지 화합물만이 존재하는 것이 아니고 여러 가지 화합물이 섞여 있는 경우가 많다.
