A Study on the Private Key Backup and Restoration using Biometric Information in Blockchain Environment

  • As research on blockchain applications in various fields is actively increasing, management of private keys that prove users of blockchain has become important. If you lose your private key, you lose all your data. In order to solve this problem, previously, blockchain wallets, private key recovery using partial information, and private key recovery through distributed storage have been proposed. In this paper, we propose a safe private key backup and recovery method using Shamir's Secrete Sharing (SSS) scheme and biometric information, and evaluate its safety. Design of an Efficient FTL Algorithm for Flash Memory Accesses Using Sector-level Mapping (섹터 매핑 기법을 적용한 효율적인 FTL 알고리듬 설계)

  • This paper proposes a novel FTL (Flash Translation Layer) algorithm based on sector-level mapping to reduce the number of total erase operations in flash memory accesses. The proposed algorithm can reduce the number of erase operations by utilizing the sector-level mapping table when writing data at flash memory. Sector-level mapping technique reduces flash memory access time and extendsthe life time of the flash memory. In the algorithm, wear-leveling is implemented by selecting victim blocks having the minimal number of erase operations, when empty spaces for write are not available. To evaluate the performance of the proposed FTL algorithm, experiments were performed on several applications, such as MP3 players, MPEG players, web browsers and document editors. The proposed algorithm reduces the number of erase operations by 72.4% and 61.9%, when compared with well-known BAST and FAST algorithms, respectively.

  • In wavelength-routed all-optical networks, signals are transmitted on a direct optical path, or a lightpath, in a single-hop manner without opto-electronic/electro-optic(OE/EO) conversion at intermediate nodes. However, due to the physical constraints of optical elements such as ASE noise and crosstalk signals can be degraded un a long path. To establish a connection under such impairments, the optical signal may need to be regenerated at intermediate nodes, dividing a lightpath into two or more fragments. However, since signal regeneration at intermediate nodes requires additional network resources, the selection of these nodes should be made carefully to minimize blocking of other lightpaths. In this paper, we deal with the problem of establishing a lightpath in a multihop manner under physical constraints. We provide both minimal-cost and heuristic algorithms for locating signal regeneration nodes(SRNs). For a minimal-cost algorithm, we formulate the problem using dynamic programming(DP) such that blocking of other lightpaths due to the lack of transmitters/receivers(TXs/RXs) and wavelengths is minimized throughout the network.

  • Recently, most of movies top-ranked in the box office are screening in Stereoscopic 3D, and the world's leading electronics companies such as Samsung and LG are getting the hots for 3DTV sales. However, each person has different binocular disparity and different viewing distance, and thus he or she feels the severe visual fatigue and headaches if he or she is watching 3D content with the same binocular disparity, which is very different from things he or she feels in the real world. To solve this problem, this paper proposes and implement a 3D rendering system that correct the disparity of 3D content by reflecting binocular distance and viewing distance. Then, the computational complexity is analyzed. Optical-flow and Warping algorithms turn out to consume 732 seconds and 5.7 seconds per frame, respectively. Therefore, a dedicated chip-set for both blocks is strongly required for real-time HD 3D display.

  • Delivery efficiency of e-learning media can be influenced by authoring processes. Generally, a moving picture recorded by video camera can be delivered to student by multimedia streaming service, using media server technology. A e-learning media authored by lecture authoring tool is played in a student application by download-based delivery system. Recently, some animation know-how are applied to author e-learning media by hand-operation. In this paper, we suggest a client-based streaming service for the e-leaning media consists of media files and integration data The lecture of e-learning media nay be divided into some time-based small blocks. Each blocks can be located distributed site. The student system gather those blocks by download-scheduling. This is a valid method for QoS guarantee streaming services. In addition to our study, lecturers can author composite e-learning media includes media files and dynamic web pages simply, The distributed e-learning media files of our study is managed by multi-author and updated rapidly.

  • Recently, the need for multimedia devices, such as digital TV, and camcorder has increased. These devices provide many services on multimedia files such as playing, recording, and editing. Throughout these services, in case of storing edited large-scaled multimedia files, existing file system have several capability problems that are taking too much time and requiring disk I/O. In this paper, we propose the use of Linux Ext2 file system based 'Block-Link file (BL-file) system' in order to solve these problems. For the BL-file system, when editing and storing large-scaled files, there is no data input or output but only modification of the metadata. Additionally, by sharing data blocks between multimedia files, we can save disk spaces. Moreover, because the managing of data block sharing information is more convenient than the existing FWAE technique, we can lessen system overhead. The BL-file system is based on Ext2 file system and implemented in a Linux environment, and the usefulness of the proposed technique is validated by applying the Linux multimedia file-editing tool 'Avidemux'.

  • Global warming is a very important problem as it causes rapid climate change and natural disasters. Therefore, researches related to renewable energy are being actively conducted while promoting policies such as reducing carbon dioxide emission and increasing the proportion of renewable energy. Solar power generation is being applied in urban areas like BIPV as well as existing idle areas outside the city. Therefore, in this study, precast concrete blocks developed for paving roadways capable of solar power generation were designed and constructed. For the evaluation of field applicability for 6 months, skid resistance and block settlement were measured. As a result of the experiment, it was found that skid resistance satisfies the standard of general roadway in Korea, but not the standard of highway. The skid resistance tended to decrease as time passed. In addition, the settlement of the block gradually increased slightly, but it is much smaller than the allowable settlement of the roadway. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a maintenance period and method based on the periodic measurement results in the future.

  • 본 논문에서는 임의 형태 영상 영역에 대한 새로운 변환 부호화 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법에서는 영상 영역을 구성하는 각 열의 화소들을 변환 블록의 상단으로 이동시킨 후, 비어 있는 부분을 각 열의 화소 평균값으로 외삽한다. 그리고 수직 방향 1차원 변환을 실행한 후 외삽된 부분의 변환 계수들을 삭제한다. 수평 방향 1차원 변환은 각 행의 변환 계수들을 변환 블록의 좌측단으로 이동시킨 후, 수직 방향 1차원 변환에서와 동일한 과정을 실행함으로써 이루어진다. 복호화를 위해서는 먼저 삭제된 변환계수들을 복원한 후에 수평 방향 1차원 역변환 과정을 수행하며, 역변환 계수들 중 복원된 부분의 계수들을 삭제한다. 그리고 수평방향의 1차원 역변환 과정은 수직 방향 1차원 역변환 과정과 동일한 방식으로 수행한다. 역변환으로 만들어진 재생 영상은 변환 계수와 함께 전송된 형태 정보를 이용하여 원 위치로 이동된다. 모의 실험 결과는 제안된 방법의 압축 성능이 낮은 비트율에서 특히 우수함을 보여준다.

  • 정보 산업의 발달에 의해 여러 가지 형태의 정보 전달이 가능하게 되었으며 최근에 칼라 화상의 정보 전달에 있어서 빠른 전송과 압축기법이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 칼라 화상을 압축하는데 있어 개선된 SOM 알고리즘을 이용하여 칼라 이미지에 대한 벡터 양자화 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 기존의 LBG 알고리즘을 이용한 벡터 양자화 기법에 비해 블록화 현상을 줄일 수 있었으며 이미지 전체에 대해 블록의 수만큼 계속해서 반복하지 않고 동적으로 코드북을 생성시킴으로써 실행 시간도 줄일 수 있었다. 또한 웨이블릿을 칼라 화상에 적용시켜 화상의 특징을 더욱더 두드러지게 함으로써 개선된 SOM을 적용시 재생의 효과를 높일 수 있었다.

  • 최근 블록체인 기술이 발달함에 따라 사이버 범죄자의 공격 대상이 되고 있다. 특히, 암호화폐가 등장하게 되면서 화폐를 관리하는 전자지갑의 보안이 중요해지고 있다. 전자지갑은 내부에 저장된 개인 키를 통해 네트워크에 트랜잭션을 요청하게 되고 사용자 인증을 위해 중앙 기관에 검증을 요청한다. 이때, 전자지갑은 서드파티 취약점에 영향을 받아 공격 대상이 될 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 블록체인 환경에서 서드파티 의한 위협으로부터 전자지갑을 보호하는 메커니즘 연구를 진행했다.
