We have proposed and implemented a novel cost-effective optical subcarrier mutiplexing transceiver for base station without light sources in which optical signal can be transmitted bidirectionally over a single optical fiber. Modulated optical signal is retransmitted from the base station to the central office using a ring-type base station which consists of a circulator and an Mach-Zehnder modulator, where the optical source is supplied from the central office. In order to investigate the feasibility of the proposed base station without light sources, we have measured adjacent channel power ratio and carrier to noise ratio by transmitting the IS-95 CDMA signal and 14 tones carrier signal bidirectionally through the system.

Y-branch directional coupler optica1 switches with two different coupling lengths are fabricated on z-cut LiNbO3 and tested at r = 1.3 rm. The normal mode and coupled mode theories are utilized to calculate device coupling length and switching voltage. Simulation of the beam propagation method (BPM) is also performed to confirm the device coupling lengths. For dc operation, experimental results are in good agreement with the modee theories expectation.

The unequal symbol error probability of TCM(trellis coded modulation) is analyzed and applied to the derivation of bit error probability of /RS/Trellis concatenated coded-modulation system. An upper bound of the symbol error probability of TCM concatenated with RS code is obtained by exploiting the unequal symbol error probability of TCM, and it is applied to the derivation of the upper bound of the bit error probability of the RS/Trellis concatenated coded-modulation system. Our upper bounds of the concatenated codes are tighter than the earlier established other upper bounds.

OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)은 제 4 세대 기술로 일컬어지는 변조 방식으로 최근 유럽의 디지털 오디오 방송(DAB)과 디지털 비디오 방송(DVB)에 표준으로 사용되고 있으며, IEEE 802.11a 무선 LAN 및 디지털 가입자라인 xDSL 에서도 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 OFDM 모뎀 구현의 핵심이라고 할 수 있는 64-포인트 FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) 프로세서의 여러 가지 구조를 분석하고, 이들과 비교하여 성능 대 면적 비를 획기적으로 향상시킨 새로운 FFT 프로세서인 Radix-4,2 SIC (Single Instruction Computer) 구조를 제안하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 SIC 구조는 버터플라이 연산의 재사용을 극대화하였으며 Radix-4,2 알고리즘을 사용함으로써 FFT 프로세서에서 면적의 80%를 차지하는 복소곱셈기의 수를 감소시켜 크기를 획기적으로 줄인 결과를 보여 준다.

The bit error probability of RS/trellis concatenated coded-modualtion system in the mobile radio channel is analyzed. A new upper bound to the symbol error probability of the inner TCM in the mobile radio channel is obtained by exploiting the unequal symbol error probability of the TCM. This bound is applied to the derivation of the upper bound to the bit error probability of the concatenated coded-modulation system. An efficient way of searching distance spectrum of the TCM in mobile radio channel is devised. Our new bounds are tighter than the earlier studied other bounds.

IPv6 보안의 특징은 늘어난 주소공간으로 자동화된 스캐닝과 웜 전파가 어려워지고, 링크로컬 주소의 사용으로 외부공격자의 내부네트워크 접근이 제한되고 IPsec을 기본적으로 제공하는 등 향상된 부분이 있는 반면에 IPv6 운용 및 관리 부주의로 인한 보안위협 및 공격자의 위장, 메시지 변조, 오남용 등 적극적인 공격에는 여전히 노출되어 있다. 또한 IPv4와 IPv6가 혼재하는 구간에서는 IPv4와 IPv6 각각의 보안위협뿐만 아니라 패킷 변환과정에서 나타날 수 있는 보안위협까지 고려해야 한다. 본고에서는 IPv6 표준에 명시된 기능들에 대한 새로운 보안 위협과 대응방안을 정리하며, IPv4와 IPv6간의 전환에 따른 보안위협과 대응방안을 기술한다.

A new OFDM scheme, CI/OFDM using the interference of multiple carriers, is introduced. CI/OFDM system uses the N orthogonal carriers equally spaced in frequency, but each information bit is simultaneously modulated onto all carriers. The performance of CI/OFDM systems in a typical frequency selective fading channel environment, are analyzed. And it is shown that the frequency diversity benefits of this system result in significant performance enhancements relative to traditional OFDM system without causing bandwidth expansion.

고속 데이터 전송을 함에 있어서 레이저 다이오드(LD)를 이용한 광접속 시스템은 최근 중요한 화두가 되고 있다. LD에 의하여 변조된 광신호는 광자와 캐리어의 동역학적 특성에 영향을 받으며, 이와 같은 LD의 동작 특성을 위해하기 위해서는 율방정식(Rate Equation)을 분석해야만 한다. 본 논문에서는 유한차분법(FDM)을 이용하여 율방정식을 분석하기 위한 모델을 제시하였으며, 이때 주입되는 전류부분에 디지털 혹은 아날로그 신호를 인가함으로써, 광접속 시스템에서 LD의 대역폭, SFDR (Spurious Free Dynamic Rage) 그리고 비선형 특성을 분석하였다.

HSPA는 HSDPA 및 HSUPA를 통합하여 일컫는 3GPP 기술로 하향 링크에서는 HSDPA를 상향 링크에서는 HSUPA를 사용하여 기존 DCH만을 사용하는 3GPP Release 99 시스템 대비 더 효율적인 고속 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하는 기술이다. HSDPA는 3GPP Release 5 기술로서 2002년 3월 첫 표준이 승인되었으며 단말의 무선 환경에 따라 변조 및 코딩기법을 변화시키는 AMC, 물리 계층을 통해 빠른 재전송을 지원하는 HARQ,단축된 2ms TTI 그리고 Node-B 기반의 고속 스케줄링을 통해 무선망 성능을 획기적으로 향상시켜 하향 링크에서 최대 14.4Mbps를 제공한다. HSUPA는 3GPP Release 6 기술로서 2004년 6월 첫 표준이 승인되었으며 HSDPA에 도입한 기술들 중에서 AMC를 제외한 모든 기술을 적용하여 상향 링크에서 최대 5.76Mbps를 제공한다. HSPA Evolution(eHSPA 또는 HSPA+)은 HSPA의 성능 개선을 통해 3GPP Release 8 기술인 LTE로의 자연스러운 진화를 보장하기 위한 3GPP Release 7 기술로 2006년 3월 TSG RAN #31 회의에서 승인되었다. 본 고에서는 최근 표준화가 활발히 진행되고 있는 HSPA Evolution에서 최근까지 승인된 각 계층별 요소 기술에 대해 소개하고자 한다.

In this paper, optimal modulation controller is designed to improve the stability of A.C. and A.C.-D.C. power system, and optimal theory is applied to select optimal modulation controller input signal Optimal modulation controller for speed governor and exciter controller system is constructed in A.C. power system, while the controller is constructed to the both control systems like AC. power system, considering ACR-AVR, APR-$A{\gamma}R$ as the control method of direct current system. It is considered that the stability of A.C. power system only and A.C.-D.C. power system against load fluctuations and disturbances under case of optimal modulation control.
