  • Generally, Piezoelectric ceramics based lead-zirconate-titanate(PZT) system are well known to use in high power devices. In this pacer. Pb(Mn$\sub$1/3//Sb$\sub$2/3/)O$_3$(PMS) ceramics which have been shown to be adaptable for a high power usage is introduced. The stability of piezoelectric properties in PZ-PT-PMS solid solution system such as piezoelectric constants. electromechanical coupling coefficient and mechanical quality factor is discussed by the addition effect of CeO$_2$ as a additive. The CeO$_2$ ratio ranges from 0 to 2 wt%. The resonant and anti-resonant frequencies. mechanical quality factor, and force factor are also measured as a function of vibration velocity

  • Low temperature synthesis of $LaNiO_3$ crystalline phase composited from mixtures of $La_2O_3$ and NiO via the ball mill and mechanochemical process were investigated. By the ball mill, 20% of $LaNiO_3$ crystalline phase was formed in the samples sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ due to the lack of reactivity of NiO. However, the mechanochemical process yielded about 93% of $LaNiO_3$ crystalline phase in room temperature.

  • In order to make full color cholesteric displays, color filter-less R, G, B sub-pixel structured cholesteric LC cells have been studied. To make R, G, B colors, UV induced pitch variant chiral dopant was added to cholesteric LC mixtures. The concentration of the photo-sensitive chiral dopant was adjusted so that the initial state showed blue color and the color was changed from blue to green and red with increase of UV irradiation to the cholesteric cells. To prevent the mixing of R, G, B reflective sub-pixel liquid crystals, separation walls were formed using negative photo resister in boundary area between sub-pixels, Through the optimization of the material concentrations and UV irradiation condition, vivid R, G, B colors were achieved.

  • A piezoelectric actuator. which is composed of a piezoelectrically driven stator and a rotor, Is made and the characteristics are investigated experimentally is a new ultrasonic actuator which transforms rotary motion to linear one is proposed and proved to work successfully. If an ultrasonic wave is excited to propagate in the stator, particles on the internal surface move elliptically. Since the internal surface is machined as an internal thread and an external thread(rotor) is put into the stator. the external thread is rotated through the friction force and moved in the axial direction. The traveling wave is excited by a piezoelectric element bonded to the stator. This idea is firstly proposed by S. Ueha, et al. in 1987. However, efficiency of their actuator is less than 3%. In this study, in order to improve characteristics of this type actuator, we used various pitches and number of the screw thread, and materials of rotor, and we obtained good charcteristics.

  • 압전소자의 초음파 진동을 구동원으로 하는 초음파 모터의 토오크 특성을 개선하기 위하여 양면 Teeth 구조를 가지는 진행파 여진용 고정자를 설계하고, 이를 유한요소해석 프로그램 ATILA-GID를 이용하여 변위분포를 해석하였다. 한 면에만 Teeth 구조를 가지는 기존의 고정자를 이용한 초음파 모터가 소형화, 제한된 토오크 응용분야에 있어서 Direct drive actuation을 위한 발판을 마련해 주었다면, 본 연구에서 제안하는 양면 Teeth 구조의 고정자는 토오크와 효율, 출력특성의 개선과 함께 구조적인 특성에서 기인하는 온도 안정성에 의하여 그 응용분야의 확대를 기대할 수 있다.

Structural Analysis of Carboxylic Acid-Functionalized Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes

  • Carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were in detail characterized by XRD, XPS, FTIR, and thermogravimetric measurements. Carboxylic acid groups were functionalized to MWNTs using aqueous acid solutions. The change. of sonication and reflux conditions rarely influenced the degree of carboxylation on MWNTs, but reduced the thermal stability of the resulting carboxylated MWNTs. The characteristic Bragg peaks of pristine and carboxylated MWNTs were analyzed by XRD measurements. After acid treatment the diffraction peaks (100), (101), and (102) of pristine MWNTs disappeared, but the diffraction peak (002) was preserved in the carboxylated MWNTs. The introduction of carboxylic acid groups on MWNTs caused to improve the dispersibility of the resulting carboxylated MWNTs in water.

  • This paper describes on thinning SDB SOI substrates by SDB technology and electrochemical etch-stop. The surface of the fabricated SDB SOI substrates is more uniform than that grinding or polishing by mechanical method, and this process is possible to accurate SOI thickness control. During Electrochemical etch-stop, leakage current versus voltage curves were measured for analysis of the open current potential (OCP) point and the passivation potential (PP) poin and determinated to anodic substrates were analyzed by using AFM and SEM, respectivelv.

  • The effect of calcination temperature(1st and 2nd calcining at 110$0^{\circ}C$ , 120$0^{\circ}C$ and 130$0^{\circ}C$ respectively) on physical properties of BMNT Ceramics ware investigated. The optimum 1st and 2nd calcination temperature were 120$0^{\circ}C$ , and sintering temperature was 155$0^{\circ}C$. In this condition, the sintering density was 7.53 [g/㎤] and the dielectric constant, Q.f$_{0}$ and $\tau$$_{r}$ were 26, 80, 300[GHz] and +1.5[ppm/$^{\circ}C$] respectively in the microwave range.e.e.

  • This paper studied about the (100) orientation of PZT thin films coated on the LNO electrode using a different thermal annealing. The thermal annealing method is divided into two things. The one is the method transferring heat to only the lower substrate and another is transferring heat to all directions. Orientation factor of PZT in the method of transferring heat to only the lower substrate was F=99% in the thermal annealing of the LNO. Orientation factor of PZT was F=67% in the method of transferring heat to all directions.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the extent of the rheology parameters at the segregation boundary of mid-range workability concrete. In addition, it was intended to present the extent of the rheology parameters of the normal strength concrete with segregation resistance using the determination of segregation occurrence of concrete and the use of the rheology parameters. However, it was confirmed that segregation occurs even if the measured rheology parameters is in the range of the suggested rheology parameters. Therefore, it is determined that the conditions under which segregation occurs will provide fundamental data that can be rheological defined. Additional studies are also needed on the relationship between rheological parameters and segregation.
