The purpose of this thesis is to figure out the mechanism that how can be shown the aesthetic distances of novel in the film. At discussion of the view point, novel can be told by two factors which are 'who is teller' and 'who is watcher' but in the film, novel's narration is divided into visual point and auditive point. And I will consider the phenomenon on the part of this difference. Next, I will argue about difference between novel and film from the Park Jongwon's aesthetic distances which interpreted Lee Munyeol's work. This thesis is going to observe that how the film adapted three types of view point and how that related the subject of the original novel. For this thesis, I tried to track 'the distances' between figure and identity, and reader and author. Also I did approach that how can be accepted the problem of 'aesthetic distance according to identity' based on this novel in the film and novel's text by reader. This study make a proposal or analysis to the differences between novels and films in terms of narrative point of view. Although it is shown by dividing into each chapter in novel and on connectivity in film, this paper finds out that both film and novel are shown the subject of reader's difference of the view point about 'author and director's identity'.

Class, the fundamental unit of school education and the meeting place of teacher and students, plays an important role in study of the subject matter of education. Class criticism is material to the theory or method that helps researchers deeply understand and analyze class phenomena or teachers' actions during a class. In this study, I make a critique on the features of a classic novel class as attempt to expand on new prospects in the field of research on classical literature education. The classic novel class in this class criticism is typical one, which reads the work analytically. Nevertheless, the teacher turns the students' vague repulsion into empathy and helps them appreciate and internalize the work. Students' empathy and response are reflected in the interpreting-centered class because the teacher's insights about the work and experience, knowledge, and method of literature education are projected during the class. Especially, a situation in which the teacher spends a relatively long time narrating the background of the work clearly shows the value and meaning disseminated in a classic novel class. Based on the aforementioned, attempts to collect a variety of cases of a classic novel class and to understand the meaning of these cases have to be part of future research. The research on the attributes of a class such as criticism of classic novels enables us to renew introspection to discover classical literature education.

Due to the rapid development of information & communication technology under high performance computing environments, the multimedia production techniques have been applied to a variety of multimedia fields such as general banner advertisements including texts, images and animations, and the internet-broadcasting dealing with videos and sounds. This paper presents an authoring tool with main functions to setup events objects (image, animation, sound, button, area) and to setup action functions, so that non-experts can easily produce multimedia including images, sounds, animations and so on. The authoring tool implemented in Java can be applied to the CD-ROM title production as well as the web-site construction. We can expect that when this authoring tool is used for in multimedia production, both cost and time will be reduced due to its convenience and powerful functions. We have a future plan to integrate intelligent multimedia presentation techniques with the presented tool for the autonomous multimedia authoring works.

Recently, the value of video as an important data of medical information technology is increasing due to the feature of rich clinical information. On the other hand, video is also required to be de-identified as a medical image, but the existing methods are mainly specialized in the stereotyped data and still images, which makes it difficult to apply the existing methods to the video data. In this paper, we propose an automated system to index candidate elements of personal identification information on a frame basis to solve this problem. The proposed system performs indexing process using text and person detection after preprocessing by scene segmentation and color knowledge based method. The generated index information is provided as metadata according to the purpose of use. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system, the indexing speed was measured using prototype implementation and real surgical video. As a result, the work speed was more than twice as fast as the playing time of the input video, and it was confirmed that the decision making was possible through the case of the production of surgical education contents.

To ensure access to rapidly growing video collection, video indexing is becoming more and more essential. A database for video should be build for fast searching and extracting the accurate features of video information with more complex characteristics. Moreover, video indexing structure supports efficient retrieval of interesting contents to reflect user preferences. In this paper, we propose semantic video retrieval method based on user preference. Unlikely the previous methods do not consider user preferences. Futhermore, the conventional methods show the result as simple text matching for the user's query that does not supports the semantic search. To overcome these limitations, we develop a method for user preference analysis and present a method of video ontology construction for semantic retrieval. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs better than previous methods in terms of semantic video retrieval based on user preferences.

A study on image searching and management techniques is actively developed by user requirements for multimedia information that are existing as images, audios, texts data from various information processing devices. If we can automatically detect and segment changing scenes from real-time image sequences, we can improve an effectiveness of image searching systems. In this paper, we propose cut detection techniques based on image color distribution and we evaluated its performance on various real-time image sequences. Results of experiments show that the proposed method are robust on various image patterns than color histogram method using statistical informations of images. Also, these methods can be used for cut detection on real-time image sequences.

This study examines the strategy of delivering the drama's poet Kim Soo-young and his literary works to the public through the drama (2004). This drama shows Kim's inner self and his literary view by inserting poems into scenes where the poet suffers internal conflict, while presenting relatively less well-known poems to broaden the public's understanding of poetry. In addition, the drama maintains viewers' interest by properly placing elements of conflict, and effectively shows how the conflict affected his life and the world of time. Therefore, the drama is a meaningful text that embodies a poet named Kim Soo-young in three dimensions along with the historical transformation and social problems of the time and the literary chapter of the time through the video.

The 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (hereafter referred to as "the 20th National Congress") was under the global spotlight long before it was held for seven days from 16 to 22 October 2022. People wondered whether Xi Jinping would secure a third term as China's leader or whether he would lay the foundations to be in power forever during the third term. In Korea, the press and media questioned whether the event would become the "crowning of Emperor Xi (Xi Huangdi)," whose power rivaled that of the first emperor in China, Shi Hunagdi, and featured the scene where Hu Jintao was forced to leave the venue during the Congress. On the other hand, many Korean academics focused more on how Xi would organize the Politburo and its Standing Committee and whether the outline of his heirs would appear during the event. This tendency in academia in turn worsened the media's concerns. This paper presents a quantitative analysis of the 20th National Congress Report, as opposed to an analysis of Xi's political intentions at the event. The National Congress Report outlines the Party's visions, goals, and strategies for the next five years in politics, economy, society, culture, foreign affairs, and relationship with Taiwan. The authoritative document is rich in narrative and logic and deserves academic study. This research analyzes the 18th, 19th, and 20th Reports by identifying their keywords and regular expressions and checking their frequency and percentage through text-mining methods. This approach enables the quantification and visualization of the significant changes in the Party's sovereign vision over the fifteen years of Xi's rule from 2013 to 2027.

Contrary to the fact that the old films contain artistic and include contemporary literature, religion, and philosophy, latest films are produced with focusing on external interesting composition and sensational scene. A good movie emotionally express the directors' topic message exuding from an interesting story, and empathize with the social agenda which shows a sharp look of the directors' on contemporary social aspect. In the movies of the Coen brothers, it seems like an entertainment movie as typical black comedy genre through irony and happening, but in fact, it inserts a lot of social problems in the film to show that they cynically express their social agenda from a contemplative view. In their movie "The Big Lebowski (1998)", it seems like they are creating comical content through the main characters' unaffected attitude. However, it is director's excellent director of the sub-text that expresses American social issues such as Vietnam war, post-modernism and an obscurantist policy and au fond the comedy about the historical facts of mass production of social maladjustment into black comedy. We expect to contribute to make a step forward in the Korea film industry by analyzing such movies that has the cultural power of influence.

In this paper, the aspects of recollection discourse during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 are discussed. As a research method the dialectic of oblivion is used. The results of the study are like these: first, the hero discourse of Lee Soon-Sin was the center of the discourse of the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592 until the 20th century. In the two books Jingbirok and A War Diary written at that time, the subjective and objective description of the war was essential. However, it has a limit that it can't describe the real situation of the war that the people and the soldiers went through, as it focuses on Lee Soon-Sin's inner thoughts. Second, in the 21st century The Song of Sword written by Kim Hoon deals with the inner mind of Lee Soon-Sin in monologue unlike the usual hero discourse. Although as we can see in the records about the marine righteous army, people centered discourse description of the war shows a different way of discourse about the Imjin War. The movie, Myeongryang directed by Kim Han-Min tries to modify the way of remembering the war and presents the real heroes were the people and Lee Soon-Sin was a additional character in the war by showing a lot of battle scenes in the sea. The truth of history can't be found by only researching the recorded materials. As cultural texts dealing with the way of remembering the war, the novel shows a struggling individual not a hero and the movie focuses on that people's active participation led the victory of the war.
