Effects of Visual Working Memory Capacity and the Type and Contents of Graphic Annotation on Multimedia English Learning (시공간 작업기억 용량과 그림 자료의 유형과 내용이 초등학생의 영어 단어 학습에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this article is to investigate the effect of visual working memory, the types and contents of graphic annotations on English learning. The participants of the experiments were 5th and 6th graders. The result showed that animation was effective only in the word test for children with large visual working memory, whereas text-only-annotation yielded better performance in the comprehension test in Experiment 1. The effect of relevance of animations was tested in Experiment 2. Context-relevant-animations yielded better comprehension than the animations denoting the typical meaning, whereas the opposite pattern was reported in the word test. The result of the two experiments was interpreted in terms of cognitive load theory and the generative theory of multimedia learning.

Study of General Characteristics of the Korean Elderly and Their Leisure Time Spending : Analyzing the Data of Hours of Living 2014 (한국노인의 일반적 특성과 여가생활시간에 관한 연구 : 2014년 생활시간조사자료 분석 중심으로)

  • Objective : This study aimed to identify types of leisure time spending of the Korean elderly according to the data of Hours of Living 2014 from National Statistical Office, and compare and analyze features of leisure time spending based on general characteristics of the elderly. Method : This study has only adopted the data of 9228 elder people whose ages were above 65, and their general characteristics and time spending features form the data of Hours of Living 2014. The final comparison and analysis has been made through behavior classification (1 major classification, 7 medium classification, 39 minor classification), which reflects how the elderly spend their leisure time according to their household and personal characteristics. Result : Firstly, the Korean elderly were found to spend most of their leisure time with media. Secondly, analyzing the features of leisure time spending based on household characteristics of the elderly, their gender and household income showed significant differences in all types of leisure time activities except for cultural and sightseeing activity. And their marital status showed significant differences in most of the leisure time activities excluding leisure time activity with media and cultural and sightseeing activity. Thirdly, analyzing the features of leisure time spending based on personal characteristics of the elderly, their education level has made significant differences in all types of leisure time activities. As for their economic activity status and average monthly income, they showed meaningful differences in most of the leisure time activities excluding cultural and sightseeing activity and ritual activity. Conclusion : We should help to find meaningful occupation within personal contexts and arrange it properly with balanced leisure time spending. Moreover, it is highly important to have appropriate occupational approach to prevent social isolation of the Korean elderly, and ensure their fruitful and successful later life.

Effects of Lifestyle, Stress and Life Satisfaction on Sleep Quality in University Student : Focusing on Department of Occupational Therapy Students (대학생의 생활양식, 스트레스 및 삶의 만족도가 수면의 질에 미치는 영향 : 작업치료학과 대학생을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects for lifestyle, stress and life satisfaction on sleep quality in university students. The participants were 46 university students attending the department of occupational therapy. Participants responded to responses to the lifestyle questionnaire and Morning and Evening Questionnaire-Korean version(MEQ-K). The levels of stress and life satisfaction reported by participants were obtained using the Korean version of Perceive Stress Test-4(K-PSS-4) and Korean version of Satisfaction With Life Scale(K-SWLS). The quality of sleep was assessed using Korean Modified Leeds Evaluation Questionnaire(KMLSEQ). An independent t-test, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed to investigate factors related to quality of sleep. The analysis of correlations between health status, morning type of chronotype, and life satisfaction showed a significant positive correlation between quality of sleep. As a result of analyzing the quality of sleep according to the chronotype, the main family house and dormitory group showed higher sleep quality than the boarding group. As a result of the multiple regression analysis, the chronotype predicts quality of sleep. This study could provide information to improve the quality of sleep for university students by identify factors affecting sleep for university students in occupational therapy.

  • In industrial site in various fields it will be generated in combination with large amounts of data have a correlation. It is able to collect a variety of data in types of industry process, but they are unable to integrate each other's association between each process. For the data of the existing industry, the set values of the molding condition table are input by the operator as an arbitrary value When a problem occurs in the work process. In this paper, design the fusion and analysis processing model of data collected for each industrial type, Prediction Case(Automobile Connect), a through for corporate earnings improvement and process manufacturing industries such as master data through standard molding condition table and the production history file comparison collected during the manufacturing process and reduced failure rate with a new molding condition table digitized by arbitrary value for worker, a new pattern analysis and reinterpreted for various malfunction factors and exceptions, increased productivity, process improvement, the cost savings. It can be designed in a variety of data analysis and model validation. In addition, to secure manufacturing process of objectivity, consistency and optimization by standard set values analyzed and verified and may be optimized to support the industry type, fits optimization(standard setting) techniques through various pattern types.

The Koreans' Time Use and Satisfaction by Age and Region: Focusing on Lifestyle Types (한국인의 연령별 및 지역별 생활시간 사용과 만족도: 라이프스타일 유형을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify lifestyle types for Koreans' time use through the 2014 National Time Survey. In this 2014 national life time survey data, the required maintenance time, mandatory time, and free time presented in the triangle model were divided into three areas, and compared and analyzed by age and region. In this type of lifestyle, teenagers, people in their 20s and 50s were given reasonable life-seeking, people in their 30s and 40s were given achievement-seeking, and people in their 60s, 70s and 80s were given passive real-life seeking. The required maintenance time of each regional lifestyle activity was Jeonbuk, Ulsan, and Gangwon took up the most time during free time. The higher the age, the higher the satisfaction level of each age, the higher the satisfaction level of life, while the satisfaction level of each region was the highest in Daejeon and the lowest in Ulsan. The satisfaction level for each lifestyle type was higher, followed by rational life pursuit, achievement pursuit and passive reality. It seems that systematic research on lifestyle will be needed in future studies through the diversification of areas of time, classification according to leisure characteristics, and type of lifestyle.

The Differences in Processing Type of Working Memory in Music Reading between Experts and Novices (악보 읽기에서 나타나는 전문가와 초보자의 작업기억에서의 처리 유형의 차이)

  • This study investigated the differences in processing type of working memory between experts and novices when they read music scores. Two experiments were conducted with the articulatory suppression condition. In Experiment 1, eight half notes were shown on the screen for a brief period of time, participants were then requested to write the notes on a music sheet. the stimuli were divided into two: melodious and unmelodious. In similar fashion, Experiment 2 consisted of four-chord sequences, which contained three notes each. The stimuli were also divided into two: harmonious and disharmonious. As an analysis of the results in Experiment 1 & 2, novices commonly showed better performances in the non-articulatory suppression condition than the articulatory suppression condition with both stimuli types. However, experts were relatively affected little by the articulatory suppression with harmonious stimuli. These findings support that while novices entirely depend on the articulatory loop, experts may encode the notes through the visuo-spatial sketchpad before they transfer the information to the phonological store when they are familiar with material.

  • Minor enterprises can successfully build up their market share plans in a relatively shorter time than compared with major enterprises, which require long time for design developments in their big organization. Therefore, there are some items that are more suitable to the minor enterprises. For example, computer desk may be the one. It must be one of the strategically suitable items of minor enterprises rather than of large enterprises because of their own easy production policies. This paper is based on a research report that I submitted to Gyongsan-Si, Gyongbuk-Do which supported a small company for a special purpose of its provincial economic policy. I took part in the research and suggested five types of characteristic concepts and the ideas. And as a result. the type war accepted as the most appropriate one of them to produce. And the acception was based on the following five factors; consumer's need, productivity, proper price, energy saving, and user' easiness.

사용자 인터페이스 디자인을 위한 Video Protocol 분석 도구 개발에 관한 연구

  • 디자이너에게 필요한 정보가 제품의 성격이 변함에 따라 변하면서 정보 수집의 흐름도 달라져가고 있다. 지금까 지의 디자인 정보 수집이 단순 설문조사에서 사용자의 사용상황을 관찰하는 보다 실질적인조사 혹은 컨텍스트 디 자인(Context Design: 사용환경을 고려한 디자인)으로 바뀌어 가고 있다. 그러나 기존의 조사분석방법들이 특정한 면(인지적 혹은 행위적)에 편중된 자료 수집에 초점이 맞추어져 있어서 다양한 정보의 수집과 이러한 정보의 통합 적 관리가 어려운 문제점을 가지고 있다. 정보의 수집과 통합적 관리의 어려움이 발생하게 되는 원인을 좀더 구체 적으로 살펴보면 첫째, 수잡되는 데이터의 문제이다. 데이터의 성격을 사용자인 개인의 조작행위에 중점을 두거나 또는 작업상황이나 사용자의 성격/선호도와 같은 부분에 중점을 두기 때문에 서로 상호작용하여 사용자 인터페이스에 큰 영향을 미치는 이 두 유형의 데이터에 관한 분석을 어렵게 하는 원인이 되고 있다. 둘째, 적당한 데이터 수집도구 (data logger)의 미비를 들 수 있다. 이것은 기존의 Data logger들은 정보를 문자나 숫자 또는 특수문자로서 정보를 추출하게 됨으로써 데이터를 뽑는 당시부터 정보가 추출자로인하여 1차적으로 가공이 된다는 점이다. 이것은 보다 실질적이고 분석단계에서 보다 면밀한 분석이 이루어 질 수 있는 중요한 데이터가 유출될 수도 있다는 것을 의미하는 것이다. 마지막으로 위에서 언급했던 두 유형의 데이터를 동시에 분석할 수 있는 방법의 부재와 실질적인 데이터를 분석하여 이를 디자인에 활용할 수 있는 정보로 가공할 수 있는 도구가 마련되어 있지 않다는 점이다. 디자인 작업은 종합적인 시각화 과정임에 비해 분석된 결과가 비시각적이며 위에서 언급했듯이 분절된 정보가 되기 쉽기 때문에 이를 디자인에 곧바로 적용시키기 어려운 점이 있다. 이에 본 연구는 기존의 바용성 평가를 위한 분석도구들이 갖는 문제 점들 해결하여 제품의 사용자 인터페이스 디자인 개발과정에서 활용할 수 있는 평가 분석도구를 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 첫째, 다양한 유형의 정보를 포함하는 비디오 정보를 선정하였따. 둘째, 데이터를 다양한 측면에서 추출할 수 있는 Data logger를 개발하였다. 셋째, 데이터를 시각적으로 정리하고 분석할 수 있는 도구를 제안한다. 마지막으로 인터페이스 디자인에서 여러 가지 디자인안을 도출해 내는 작업에 이용할 수 있는 종합화과정을 개발한다. 이러한 일련의 과정이 통합된 컴퓨터 시스템 안에서 이루어지도록 프로그램을 개발하여 정보의 유용성을 높일 수 있도록 한다.
