This purpose of this study was to identify view of occupational therapy fieldwork supervisor and novice occupational therapists in job. 117 fieldwork supervisor and 104 novice occupational therapists that work on 58 domestic hospitals were chosen. The collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS 20.0 statistics package for Window which determined frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, and range. The following are the results of this study. First, fieldwork supervisor considered that basic refinement and manners are most important when they evaluate student. Second, novice occupational therapists responded that importance is 10 points, conduction is 7 points, and satisfaction is 6 points in general job. Third, importance of fieldwork supervisor for the job were problem identification and established intervention plan in intervention plan appears over the first 2 above. But, conduction of novice occupational therapists for the job were evaluation in all 4 of the top 5 except 2 place. The results of this study are expected to be used as direction guidance of fieldwork to the solve difficulty of novice occupational therapists.

The purpose of this study is to provide some basic materials for the driving rehabilitation, by analyzing the presence and needs of the driving rehabilitation, which is recognized by the Occupational therapist. This study analyzed 83 survey questionnaires given to occupational therapist in Busan and Kyoung-nam. Most Occupational therapists does not receive lecture and education of driving rehabilitation, 62 Occupational therapist does not driving rehabilitation intervention. Most Occupational therapist mentioned driving rehabilitation needs. Driving rehabilitation influence on rehabilitation of clients and support activities of daily life.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the roles and practices of occupational therapists in public health centers based on their working experience of occupational therapists who are working in these facilities. Methods : We used Giorgi's descriptive phenomenological research method. Six occupational therapists were interviewed, and their recorded data were analyzed using Claizzi's thematic analysis. Results : As a result, 4 categories, 16 themes, and 24 elements were elicited. The major roles of occupational therapists in public health centers were the evaluation of clients, home-visit occupational therapy, management of dementia programs and community connection projects. Interventions that are needed to create a healthy community include case and program management, compensatory approaches, and healthy lifestyle interventions. The difficulties experienced by occupational therapists include their limited number job insecurity, performance-oriented administrative policy, and the lack of communication among professionals. Occupational therapists require education in health management and practice in public health centers to build their capacities. Conclusion : The results of this study could be used for guidelines for occupational therapists who work in community healthcare centers, as well as basic training for competent occupational therapists in the community.

Objective : This study aims to identify the job market for occupational therapists by analyzing recruitment advertisements for occupational therapists from 2011 to 2018. Methods : A total of 15,869 job placement notices posted on the portal site(http://otbrain.com/) were collected to analyze the job market for occupational therapists based on their regions, employment types, salary levels, employment times, and recruitment fields. Results : The total number of annual recruitment advertisements for occupational therapists was 544 which was higher than the number of people who passed the national exam. According to the region, recruitments were concentrated in the Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. According to employment type, the employment rate of permanent workers was on the decline but that of temporary workers showed an increasing trend. The salary level was the highest with the annual salary ranging from 20 million won to 25 million won or less, and the recruitment fields were found to have about 4.6 times more offerings in the adult and senior fields than in the pediatric fields. Conclusion : These study results can be used as a basic data for identifying the job market for occupational therapists.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the reliability and the validity of the Korean Occupational Stress Scale(KOSS) in occupational therapists. The data were collected from 214 occupational therapists by using the Korean Occupational Stress Scale. The gathered data were conducted the factor analyses and validation process to ascertain the validity. The results of this study suggested that to estimate occupational stress of occupational therapist, modified version of the KOSS which was consist of eight subscales might be more an appropriate measurement scale than the original version of the KOSS which was composed of seven subscales. Eight subscales of the scale were occupational climate, organizational system, insufficient job control, lack of reward, job demand, interpersonal conflict, job ability and job insecurity, and out of these, job ability was newly added for occupational therapist. Also the results indicated that Cronbach's alpha score of this measurement tool was 0.84, and it means that internal consistency of this scale has good reliability, and the number of questions are also valid. This study has significance to suggest necessary psychometric characteristics of the occupational stress scale for job stress study in occupational therapist.

Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate the status of infection for infectious diseases and infection control in occupational therapy. Methods : This study was implemented through the survey composed of the status of infection for infectious disease and the infection control and awareness of the infection control. The duration of survey was a month, June, 2016. 111 occupational therapists in 23 room of occupational therapy completed a survey. Results : 34.8% of occupational therapy room experienced the infectious diseases. This study showed the occupational therapists have high performance in almost items of infection control. But the occupational therapist showed the low performance in the items including 'Washing hands over than 15 seconds', 'Washing hands before and after wearing gloves', 'Wearing mask during treatment', 'Throwing away mask after using' and 'Washing your uniform separate from other cloths'. Almost occupational therapists think infection control is important and the education for infection control is needed in occupational therapy. But most of the education is implemented in only medical institution. Conclusion : To improve performance in infection control, individual effort of occupational therapists and institutional strategies are needed. This study will use as basic data for the education about infection control aimed at the occupational therapists.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate recognition and activation plan of community-based rehabilitation(CBR) by occupational therapists(OTs) in community rehabilitation center(CRC) and hospitals/clinics(HC) in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam province. Method : Frequency analysis, independent t-test and chi-squared test were performed with the SPSS 12.0 statistics package program. Result : CRC-OTs and HC-OTs were not significantly different in recognition was not significantly different in both groups. The need for involvement of OTs in CBR was very high in both groups. The suggested field for OTs in CBR were counseling for rehabilitation & information-providing, home-visiting rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, assistive device rental, education for disability prevention. It is required to establish CBR networking consisting of educational institutions for rehabilitation experts, local rehabilitation hospitals and clinics, and local government agencies as well as CRC and public health centers. Conclusion : CBR is recognized well by OTs in both CRC and HC and the involvement of OTs in CBR is highly needed by them. Activation plan for occupational therapy in CBR requires systemic and legal improvements.

Purpose : This study phenomenologically explores and describes the experiences of pediatric occupational therapists during parents consultation. Method : In this study, Colaizzi's phenomenological research method was applied. Telephone interview was conducted with six people who had more than eight years of clinical experience in pediatric occupational therapy and were working at a private center. Each interview was recorded with the consent of the subject and analyzed after transcription. Results : In this study, 21 themes, 4 theme clusters, and 2 categories were derived. The categories were the importance of parents consultation and factors influencing parents consultation. The theme clusters were the meaning of parents counseling, the reciprocity of the parent, the child and the therapist, the efforts of the therapist, and the competencies required of the occupational therapist. Conclusion : The results of this study may be helpful for first-time pediatric occupational therapists who are having difficulties with parents consultation. This work can also be used as basic data for developing educational programs and materials for improving the parental consultation skills of pediatric occupational therapists in the future.

Objective : Commonly experienced as an occupational therapist to reveal the meaning of conflict, development by providing information on the quality of official development plan for therapists were willing to contribute. Method : In this study using Parse's human becoming method to collect and analyze data. Participants to understand purpose of the study's researchers and that can be spoken honestly their experience through dialogue were selected eight people as a clinical occupational therapist. Conversation period January-February 2012 was, at the time of about 30-40 minutes, Every conversation is more than three times for each participant were conducted. Result : Experience of occupational therapists, occupational therapy as a conflict of identity confusion and lack of awareness, feeling that comes from a poor working environment and social life, mental conflict, payroll issues to worry about, but concerns about the treatment of the future with hope and effort in the process was an experience. However, external, internal conflicts despite the uneasy reality academic experience for self-development and growth, and the development towards a positive future was out over it. Conclusion : Away from the internal and external conflicts therapists, occupational therapy and establish the identity of satisfaction and quality of care for the treatment to improve their physical and social environment, continuous improvement is necessary.

Objective : Due to the rapid aging of the country, the elderly population is increasing and the ratio of face-to-face meetings with the elderly in major areas of occupational therapy is high. The purpose of this study was to investigate the overall perception of the elderly and the status of communication with the elderly. Methods : This survey was conducted From April to June 2020. Occupational therapists who provide interventions for the elderly in hospitals and public health centers across the country were collected using online questionnaires. A total of 91 questionnaires were collected through a self-administered questionnaire, of which 82 were used for data analysis, excluding 9 with insufficient responses. Results : Occupational therapists generally had a lot of negative perceptions of the elderly. In addition, as factors that hindered communication with the elderly, they responded in order of hearing-related, language understanding related, and articulation related. Lastly, occupational therapists were found to induce smooth communication with the elderly in the order of conversation response management, emotional expression, understanding enhancement, and relationship control. Conclusions : Occupational therapists are health care professionals who play a major role in improving the subjects' social participation and quality of life. Therefore, it is necessary to provide professional therapeutic interventions and related education using improved communication skills along with an understanding of the elderly's communication skills and their level of communication.
