A Study to Develop Monthly C Factor Database for Monthly Soil Loss Estimation (월단위 토양유실량 산정을 위한 식생피복인자 산정 방안 연구)

  • 토양유실로 인해 발생된 토사는 강우 유출수와 함께 하류로 흘러들어 하천 및 호소의 탁수문제를 야기시킨다. 토양유실에 관한 현황을 파악하기 위해서는 유역 내 토지이용현황과 피복되어 있는 작물 등의 현황조사와 더불어 유역 내 발생되는 토양유실량에 대한 장기모니터링을 수행할 필요가 있다. 하지만 유역 내 발생되는 토양유실량에 대한 장기모니터링을 수행하기에는 많은 시간과 인력이 필요하므로 토양유실량 산정 및 유사거동특성을 계산하는 모형을 활용한 연구가 국내외 많은 연구자들에 의해 수행되고 있다. 토양유실량을 산정하는 모형 중 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 범용토양유실량산정공식(Universal Soil Loss Equation, USLE)은 5개의 인자를 사용하여 연평균 토양유실량을 산정한다. 국내의 경우 환경부에서 제정한 '표토의 침식 현황 조사에 관한 고시'에 표토침식현황을 조사하는 방법으로 USLE 공식을 사용한다. USLE 모형을 구성하는 인자 중 식생피복인자는 작물의 생육과정에 따른 변화를 고려하지 않고 작물에 대한 획일적인 값을 제시하고 있어 밭에서 발생되는 정확한 토양유실현황을 예측하는데 한계가 있다, 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내에서 사용하는 USLE 모형의 구성인자인 식생피복인자의 한계점을 인식하고 이를 유역별 월단위 인자값으로 산정하는 방법을 제시하기 위해 국내의 4대상 유역 중 대청호 유역, 소양호 유역, 주암호 유역, 임하호 유역을 선정하여 각 유역의 기후 및 지역특성을 고려한 식생피복인자를 제안하였다. 월단위 식생피복인자를 제안하기 위해 SWAT모형을 사용하여 일단위 식생피복인자를 출력하도록 모형을 구성하였으며, 구축된 인자의 지역적 한계를 보완하기 위해 4대강 유역에 대한 작물 재배일정을 조사하여 모형에 반영하여 모의하였다. 모의 결과 산정된 월단위 식생피복 인자는 모든 작물에 대해 작물이 파종되는 시점에서 수확되기까지 점차 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 작물에 따라서 그리고 동일한 작물일지라도 유역에 따라 다소 차이가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 제안된 월단위 식생피복인자는 토양유실에 직접적인 영향을 주는 지표피복변화를 고려한 식생피복인자로써 정확한 토양유실량을 산정하는데 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

Effect of Vinyl-mulching Culture on Growth and Yield of Cotton( Gosspium hirsutum L.) (비닐피복이 모화의 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to explore the cultural method capable of raising of picked cotton ratio and more high-yielding in the middle part of Korea where growth period of cotton is short. By early vinyl-mulching culture, emergence date was earlier, flowering and boll opening were shorter than non-mulching, especially boll opening date was earlier about 8 to 15 days. Plant height was longer by vinyl-mulching, fruiting branches and number of bolls per plant at vinyl-mulching of the 10th April produced more twice than non-mulching of the 10th May. Picked cotton ratio was 79% at non-mulching of the 10th May, while viny-mulching of the 10th April produced most of picked cotton as picked cotton ratio 99%. At vinyl-mulching of the 10th April, lint yield increased more 76-90% than non-mulching. Staple length was some longer and also content of linolenic acid of cotton seed oil was higher than non-mulching.

Changes of Field Establishment and Growth in Cover Crops Sown at Different Times (파종 시기에 따른 피복작물의 월동 후 생존과 생장 변화)

  • In organic fanning systems, integration of cover crops into cropping system are recommended to improve the soil quality, to prevent soil erosion, and to provide biological control of weeds. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the optimal seeding dates of major cover crops. To know optimal seeding dates, crimson clover, alfalfa, rye and hairy vetch were sown on 20. Sep., 27. Sep., 4. Oct., 11. Oct., 18. Oct., 25. Oct. Rye could germinate and grow well in all the tested sowing dates. Hence, it was concluded that the sowing of rye could be conducted later in fall or more earlier in spring than any other cover crops tested in this study. Growth and ground covering capacity were significantly decreased by late sowing in alfalfa and crimson clover. For safe overwintering, alfalfa and crimson clover should be sown before late September. Similarly, field emergence of hairy vetch was found to be sensitive to soil temperature, however, its growth and ground covering capacity after overwintering was enough to compensate the delay in sowing. Germination tests in laboratory revealed that hairy vetch grew faster at $25^{\circ}C$ compared to $20^{\circ}C$. The result suggested that germination and growth rate of hairy vetch was rapidly decreased at low temperature. Therefore, it is recommended that hairy vetch should be sown as soon as possible in September for improving stand establishment after overwintering.

Effects of Cover Plants on Soil Microbial Community in Organic Apple Orchards (피복작물이 유기 사과과원 토양미생물상에 미치는 영향)

  • Organic fruit production has increased due to consumer's interest and government's political support for environmentally-friendly agriculture. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of cover plants on soil microbial community and establish the fruit cultivation method by organic farming techniques. Cover plants used as an organic nutrient source in an apple orchard were rye and barley, the Gramineae and red clover and hairy vetch, the Leguminosae. In the effects of cover plants on the soil chemical characteristics, the soil pH values were higher than that of conventional organic pear orchard. The content of P showed no significant difference between control and cover plant plots. Organic matter level was similar in control and Gramineae cover plant plots, while organic matter content in cover plants belong to Leguminosae was lower than that of control plot. K content was lower in the plots treated with rye and red clover than control plot, while K content in hairy vetch treated plot was higher than control plot. Ca content was lower in control plot than in cover plant treated plots. Concentrations of Mg in the plots treated with barley and hairy vetch was lower than control plot. In August rye and red clover covered soil showed higher bacterial community density than that of control soil and barley treated soil showed highest Actinomycetes community density among treatments. Barley and hairy vetch soils showed higher level of fungi community density than that of control soil in August. In pyrosequencing analysis barley treated soil showed highest distribution ratio of Actinomycetes among treatment. Our findings might be used as basic data for choosing cover plant with effective organic matter decomposition and nutrition supply capacity.

Effect of Cover Crop Hairy Vetch on Prevention of Soil Erosion and Reduction of Nitrogen Fertilization in Sloped Upland (경사지 밭토양 유실억제 및 질소비료절감에 대한 피복작물 헤어리벳치의 효과)

  • Cultivation of winter cover crops and its soil utilization for summer main crops in slope upland is very important at the respects of diminution of soil erosion and non-point pollution source. The effects of cover crop, hairy vetch as no-tillage or conventional tillage on prevention of soil erosion and reduction of chemical nitrogen fertilization were investigated in the slope upland with whiter clover living mulch (partial tillage) in Suwon for three years and with rye (conventional tillage) in Hongcheon for two years, respectively. In Suwon, amounts of soil lost by rainfall runoff decreased as much as 90% by hairy vetch-no tillage (HV-NT), white clover-partial tillage (WF-PT) together with the decrease of rainfall runoff compared to winter fallow with conventional tillage (WF-CT). In addition, amounts of weed also decreased as much as 80-90% by HV-NT and WF-PT. Corn yield decreased much at the plot of WF-PT mainly due to competition for soil water and nutrients between clover and corn at the early corn growth stage. On the contrary, corn yield increased by HV-NT compared to WF-CT regardless of weed control. In Hongcheon, amounts of soil eroded during winter season before corn seeding were reduced as much as 95% by cultivation of hairy vetch and rye compared to winter fallow. Amount of soil eroded during waxy corn growing season was reduced as much as 98% by HV-NT compared to WF-CT. Also, soil incorporation of hairy vetch and rye as green manure with conventional tillage at corn seeding time could reduce soil erosion as much as 70% compared to no soil cover with conventional tillage. Ear yields of waxy corn were increased 10% higher at hairy vetch green manure (HV-CT) without nitrogen fertilizer, 20% higher at HV-NT with standard nitrogen fertilizer, respectively than WF-CT. But ear yields of waxy corn were decreased by rye green manure (R-CT) and HV-NT at the condition of no nitrogen fertilizer. It was concluded that hairy vetch was better as winter cover crop to reduce both soil erosion and chemical nitrogen fertilizer simultaneously in slope upland than other cover crops.

Influences of PE Film Mulching and Planting Density on Growth and Yield of Sickle Senna(Cassia tara L.) (비닐 피복과 재식밀도가 결명의 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to determine the optimum planting density of Sickle Senna (Cassia tora L.), agronomic characters, yield components and grain yield were investigated under vinyl mulching and non -mulching condition. The characters, stem length, stem diameter, number of branches, number of pods per plant, number of pods per m$^2$, and number of grains per pod, etc., were excellent under the vinyl mulching condition, and number of pods per m$^2$ was the highest in 60$\times$15cm planting space under vinyl mulching or non-mulching. Both of the weight of 100 grains and grain yield were also higher under the vinylmulching condition, and grain yield was the most excellent in 60$\times$15cm planting space under the vinlymulching, or non-mulching. Under the vinyl mulching and non-mulching, the analysis of variance for agronomic characters following the difference of planting density, were acknowledged to be worth of attention.

  • 지구온난화에 대한 우려가 커지면서 농업분야에도 저탄소 녹색성장에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 친환경 유기 농산물에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이에 따라 화학비료 대신 녹비작물을 심어 잡초발생을 억제하는 새로운 농업기법이 확대되고 있다. 농촌진흥청에서는 녹비작물을 피복한 논에서 별도의 경운작업 없이 이앙할 부분만 경운과 동시에 이앙할 수 있는 부분경운이앙기를 개발하였다.

Effects of Coating Materials on Germination of Pelleted Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) Seeds (피복재료가 품종별 연초 피복종자의 발아에 미치는 영향)

  • Nicotiana Tabacum L., cv. NC2326, Burley2l and Sohyang seeds were coated with different five materials - zeolite, serpentine, coal briquet ash, serpentine+zeolite and coal briquet ash+zeolite - to investigate the effects of coating on germination. The coating materials had different characteristics and gave varied effects on germination. Among three tobacco varieties, coated seeds of Burley2l showed the most sensitive responses in germination rate of decreasing and delaying at low temperature on seedbed and laboratory tests.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the growth characteristics for each of botanical types of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) under vinyl-and non-mulching in cultural limiting region. Ten peanut varieties pertaining to virginia-large seed, virginia-small seed, spanish, valencia, shinpung type were used in this study. Main stem length was in order of valencia, spanish, virginia-small seed, shinpung, virginia-large seed type under vinyl-and non-mulching. By vinyl-mulching, the maximum growth stage of main stem was shortened by 20 days than that of non-mulching. Number of branches per plant was distinguished among botanical types. Numbers of those were virginia-small seed 28, virginia-large seed 27, shinpung 15, spanish 13, valencia 7 under vinyl-mulching and were virginia-small seed 22, virginia-large seed 21, spanish 12, spinpung 12, valencia 5 under non-mulching. The longeset branch length was in order of valencia, spanish, spinpung, virginia-large seed, virginia-small seed type under vinyl-and non-mulching and velencia type was the longest of the botanical types.

Weed Occurrence in Organic Apple Orchards by Different Cover Crops (유기재배 사과과원의 피복작물별 잡초발생)

  • This study was conducted to select the cover crops in organic apple orchard by estimating the coverage of each cover crops and time-periodic weed occurrence. Seeding of Festuca myuros and Trifolium repens showed high contents of soil organic matter and phosphorus as compared with control. Seeding of Trifolium sp., Hordeum vulgare and Secale cereal reduced relatively occurrence of weed in May and S. cereal among others showed the greatest effect in June. In July, seeding F. arundinaceae and Poa pratensis showed low coverage and a lot of weeds occurred in their field. Fifty one species were occurred as weeds and it needs to removal of high and broadleaf weeds such as Chenopodium ficifolium, C. album var. centrorubru and Humulus japonicus in spring to increase the rate of ground cover. P. pratensis having the lowest cover rate showed the similar dry weight of weeds as compared with control. Trifolium sp. and Persicaria hydropiper had a high correlation with contents of soil organic matter and C. album var. centrorubru had a correlation with contents of soil phosphorus by CCA analysis.
