  • This study was carried out to investigate actual vegetation and the DGN(Degree of Green Naturality) in the Baekdudaegan from Manbokdae of the Jirisan National Park to Boksungijae in the Namwon-si. The actual vegetation of the surveyed site were classified into 17 plant community; Substitutional forest were classified into 10 plant communities; Quercus mongolica communities, Pinus densiflora community, Quercus serrata commodity, etc. And artificial forest were classified into 6 forest types; Larix leptolepis forest, Pinus koraiensis forest etc. Seedlings of Larix leptolepis and P. koraiensis were appeared around road slopes and devastated land. The DGN 8 was appeared the widest area as 64%(9,113ha) and the DGN 9 was 9.58%(1,349ha). The DGN 1 and 2 were appeared as 7.65%(1.078ha) at Dukchiri and Maeyori district on the Baekdudaegan

  • Securing sufficient planting strip for street shrubs has a limitation. So many different shrubs which have been planted in the streets looks consider its visual aspect rather than growth characteristics. In this study, we compared with the growth condition of planted shrubs and construction condition of its planting strip. $Photinia$ $glabra$, $Euonymus$ $japonicus$, $Camelia$ $sasanqua$, $Nandina$ $domestica$, $Abelia$ $grandiflora$ were selected in the Busan City, Korea. The planting strips width were 0.5~0.9m which is not relatively different by each species. Species which have narrow growth character of root hair in the natural bed ($Nandina$ $domestica$, $Abelia$ $grandiflora$) have a good growth condition in the street planting strip, oppositely shrubs which have wide growth character of root hair ($Photinia$ $glabra$, $Euonymus$ $japonicus$, $Camelia$ $sasanqua$) have a relatively bad growth condition. Hereupon, there have a necessity which should be select the different shrub species for the planting strip of the street.

  • Wangpicheon, which is located in Uljin-Gun, Korea, is threatened with various developments plan recently. To investigate the forest structure, actual vegetation and degree of green naturality(DGN) in Wangpicheon, survey was carried out within about 1km width from the stream. In the analysis of actual vegetation, the forest type around Wangpicheon is differentiated into 26 vegetation ones. In these, six Pinus densiflora - dominated vegetation types are appeared a great many of them. In DGN analysis, 70.8% of total area is covered by DGN 8 and 0.3% of total area is covered by DGN 9. According to the analysis of classification by TWINSPAN, the community was divided by three types of Pinus densiflora community and two types of Quercus spp. community i.e. Quercus mongolica and Q. vuliabitis community. The structure of communities were analyzed using importance percentage, and species and individuals, DBH distribution and similarity analysis were executed.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the actual vegetation and Degree of Green Naturality(DGN) and distribution of exotic plants replanted in Bukhansan National Park. The actual vegetation of the surveyed site was classified into eight plant communities and crop land, etc. Substitutional forest were classified into five plant communities; Quercus mongolica community, Q. mongolica-Pinus densiflora community, Deciduous broadleaf forest, etc. Reforested lands were classified into three forest types: P. koraiensis forest, Robinia pseudoacacia forest, P. rigida forest, etc. The area of DGN 8 consisted of 92.80% in Bukhansan National Park. The replanted plants in Bukhansan National Park was enlisted as 212 taxa, 71 families. The indigenous native among the replanted species were enlisted as 67 taxa(31.6%), 37 families. The exotic plants were enlisted as 145 taxa(68.4%), 58 families. The exotic plants needs to management that for recovery of natural environment, improvement about maintenance of multiplicity and a site of scenery about natural plants in Bukhansan National Park.

  • This study analyzed urban greenspace area and vegetation structure by land use types for Kangnam-gu and Junglang-gu in Seoul different in income and building construction date. The study districts had a similar areal distribution of land use types. Residential lands accounted for about 32~37% of total area, natural lands, 19~22%, commercial and industrial lands(including transportation), 13~18%, and institutional lands, 13~17%. Greenspace covered only 20~30% of urban residential and commercial area in which human activities of living concentrate. Canopy stocking level in urban lands (all land uses except natural and agrecultural lands) was about 39% for Kangnam-gu and 50% for Junglang-gu, showing tree planting potential slightly higher in Kangnam-gu than in Junglang-gu. Woody plant cover was approximately 13%, and tree density was 3 trees/100m$^{2}$ forurban lands in both districts. The tree-age structure was largely characterized by young, growing tree population, and species diversity within a diameter class decreases as the diameter classes get larger. Urban lands of both districts had quite a similar species composition of woody plants (similarity indez of 0.70). Income and bulding construction date did not result in significant diference between the two districts in vegetation structure for urban lands. Some strategies were ezplored to solve problems found in the present greenspace structures. They included increase of biomass and greenspace area through minimization of unnecessary impervious surfaces, creation of multilayered and multiaged vegetation structures, and avoidance of intensive tree pruning and relocation of above ground utility lines.
