Analysis of Tree Growth Characteristics by First and Second Thinning in Korean White Pine Plantations (잣나무 인공림의 1차 및 2차 간벌에 따른 입목생장 특성 분석)

  • This study was conducted to provide basic information for the development of silvicultural guidelines and manuals. This was achieved through analysis of tree and stand characteristics according to the first and second thinning in Korean white pine plantations. Data were collected from permanent plots installed at Korean white pine plantations according to thinning intensity, and residual tree and stand variables, including diameter at breast height (DBH), volume, and mortality at age 19-43, were analyzed using data repeatedly collected in 4-5 measurements by experiments. According to one-way variance of analysis, tree DBH and volume were significantly different according to thinning intensity (p<0.05). DBH distribution was skewed to the left side over time as thinning intensity was heavier. Thus, tree DBH values were larger in heavy thinning plots with increased age. The periodic annual increment (PAI) of DBH was higher with heavier thinning intensity and fewer years after thinning. The PAI range by thinning intensity was 0.48-0.95 cm/year at age 19-24. In addition, the PAI increased in heavy thinning plots after the second thinning; The PAI range by thinning intensity was 0.29-0.67 cm/year after the second thinning at age 37-42. The PAI of tree volume differed according to thinning intensity, and the PAI value did not decrease obviously, in contrast to the pattern of the DBH PAI. Stand volume was generally higher in high-density stands, and the PAI of stand volume was high in unthinned and light thinning plots. Mortality was highest in unthinned plots, and the differences in mortality according to thinning intensity increased over time. Consequently, the growth of DBH and tree volume was lower as stand density increased, but this growth was facilitated with appropriate first and second thinning operations.

Changes in Feeding Habit and Body Composition of Black Sea Bream Acanthopagrus schlegeli Released in Eelgrass Zostera marina Bed (잘피밭 해역에 방류된 감성돔 Acanthopagrus schlegeli 치어의 식성 및 어체성분 변화)

  • Artificially-produced juvenile black sea bream Acanthopagrus schlegeli (total length $8.3{\pm}1.0\;cm$, body weight $11.2{\pm}4.2\;g$) were released in eelgrass, Zostera marina bed and their initial food organism and changes of body compositions were investigated for one month after release. Predation rates in fish sampled on 1st and 3rd days were 79%, increased up to 100% on 7th and 10th days, and then decreased on 30th days as 75%. Major prey organisms was composed of mainly Amphipoda and Gastropoda. Ratio of Amphipoda and Gastropoda in stomach were highest in fish sampled on 15th and 1st days after release, respectively. Crustacea and Algae were maintained about 20% during a sampling period. Visceral weight index (VWI) offish sampled 20th and 30th after release were significantly higher than that of initial. Carcass crude protein and lipid contents of released fish were showed significantly decreasing; however carcass n-3 HUFA composition was showed increasing tendency with the passage of time after release. Eelgrass bed was supposed to be helpful for the released fish to adjust their feeding habits and biochemical metabolism to the natural environment within a short period after release.

Effects of Drying Method and Medicinal Herb Extract Addition on the Microstructure of Beef Jerky (건조방법과 한약재 추출물 첨가가 육포의 미세구조에 미치는 영향)

  • We investigated the effects of manufacturing method on the quality of beef jerky using electron micrography. Six types of beef jerky were prepared by the addition of sugar (A), licorice (B), one of three kinds of spice extract (clove: C, fennel fruit: D, and Chungyang green pepper extract: E), or a mixture of all spice extracts (F). Microstructural changes in beef jerky during preparation by drying, with respect to drying method and the nature of the added spice extract, were observed by scanning electron micrography (SEM) and transmission electron micrography (TEM). The latter technique showed that the microstructure of fresh meat showed actin and myosin in myofibril lines, and also mitochondria and inner membranes. Beef muscle structure was broken at many myofibril lines and decomposition of inner membrane material was evident after seasoning. SEM of air-blast dried beef jerky with added medicinal herb extracts showed both large spaces and regular myofibrils, whereas hot air-dried beef jerky had no spaces and the muscle myofibrils were still evident. After review of all available micrographs from SEM and TEM, we concluded that use of medicinal herb extracts could be helpful in preserving the muscle myofibril structure during drying, and the air-blast drying method is recommended to optimize the textural quality characteristics of beef jerky.

A Subjective Symptom Level and Satisfaction Factor by Indoor Air Quality According to Ventilation System in Dental Clinic (치과병·의원 환기방법에 따른 실내공기질 자각증상 수준 및 근무환경 만족요인)

  • This study was designed to identify a subjective symptom level by Indoor air according to ventilation system in Dental Clinic. The number of respondents was 582 who work in dental clinic and period of investigation was October 2010 through January 2011. A structured questionnaire was employed to evaluate the level of participants' sociodemographics, job-related factors, work place condition, a subjective symptom. Most of respondents were answered that time for symptom to begin was at around 2 P.M. and time for symptom to feel serve pain was at around 3 P.M. and ventilation frequency per a day was often in case of individual cooling and heating system. More often natural ventilation and in case of individual cooling and heating system, the level of subject symptom was low and multiple regression analysis has found that indoor air quality related elements were main factors that influence to the feeling of satisfaction in work place. The results of this study suggest that more often natural ventilation was very important to reduce the level of subjective symptom. Thus, a management program for indoor air quality is strongly recommended by natural ventilation, maintenance man for promotion of quality of life in dental hygienist and to improve dental service and competitiveness.

Flame and Carbonization Patterns of Animal-Origin Foods Ignited by Overheating (과열에 의해 발화된 동물성 식품의 화염 및 탄화 패턴에 관한 연구)

  • Real-scale fire tests were performed on animal-origin foods using a gas stove with no overheating prevention device. When the animal-origin foods were ignited, a large quantity of white smoke and steam was generated from them; however, when they became dry and began to carbonize, a dark smoke was generated. Even after the gas stove was overheated for more than 5400 s, mackerel, pollack, chicken, etc., did not ignite. However, pork, beef, and tuna caught fire after 2643 s, 2819 s, and 6492 s of heating, respectively. The flame patterns of animal-origin foods were in the forms of a mixed laminar flow and a turbulent flow, and a halo pattern was produced. A sand glass form of the flame pattern was generated when a kitchen hood was operated, but a triangular flame pattern was produced when the kitchen hood was not operated. When the tuna in the pot was overheated, it spontaneously ignited after 6492 s, with the surface temperature of the kitchen hood rapidly rising to 464.5 ℃. Moreover, the temperature at the back of the pot, which was 6 cm away from the outer surface of the upper part of the pot, was 869 ℃ after 6660 s because of the radiant heat. The flame formed a sand glass pattern on the kitchen wall. When the kitchen hood was not operated, or when the flame grew lower than the height of the ceiling, a triangular pattern was formed.

처분환경에서 처분용기 재질의 부식

  • 고준위폐기물 혹은 사용후 핵연료의 처분용기 재질은 각 국의 처분개념과 처분공의 주위 환경에 따라 달라질 수 있다. 용기의 후보재질로는 탄소강, 스텐레스 강, 구리, 니켈, 티탄 혹은 이들의 합금이 주로 고려되고 있으나, 국내에서는 아직 선정되지 않았다. 국내 처분환경에서 이들 재질의 부식특성을 조사하고자 모의 화강암 지하수를 가해 만든 겔 상태의 경주 벤토나이트에 탄소강, 스텐레스 강, 구리 시편을 넣고, $70^{\circ}C$, 아르곤 분위기에서 530일 경과한 후 시편의 표면 변화 (그림 1) 및 무게 감소를 측정하였다. 철 부식시편은 검정색의 철 화합물 층으로 덮여 있었으며, 구리표면에는 노란색의 부식층이 형성되었는데, 이를 XRD로 분석한 결과 $Cu_2O$로 판명되었다. 그러나 $700^{\circ}C$에서 각각 0, 24, 96시간동안 예민화시킨 스텐레스 강 시편들은 모두 초기상태 그대로 광택을 유지하고 있었으며, XRD에서 다른 화합물의 형성을 발견할 수 없었다 (그림 2). 시편의 무게 감소가 균일부식에 기인한 것으로 가정하여 환산한 결과, 구리와 스텐레스 강 모두 0.3~0.4 $\mu\textrm{m}/yr$의 부식속도를 나타내었다. 그러나 구리는 부식생성물이 표면에 부착되어 있기 때문에 실제 부식두께는 이 값보다 더 클 것으로 생각된다. 용기가 초기 530일간과 같은 속도로 처분용기의 부식이 진행된다면 한국에서 기준처분 개념으로 삼고 있는 50mm 두께의 내부식성 외벽 금속용기는 적어도 만년이상 견딜 수 있을 것으로 추정된다. 한편, 검정색 부식층을 제거한 무게감소로부터 계산한 철의 부식속도는 구리의 약 30배에 해당하였다. 금속 재질의 정확한 부식 거동을 파악하기 위해서는 보다 장기간의 실험이 요구된다. 시험법 선정에 각계(규제기관, 학계, 발전소 현장 및 산업계 등) 전문가로부터 기술자문회의를 통하여 자문 의견을 받기로 하였다. 특히 현재 폐기물 인수 기술기준치가 설정된 국가의 시험법을 심층 있게 검토하기로 하였다.검토하기로 하였다. 혹은 수성주변 환경이 지배하는 산악이나 구릉지에서 흔히 나타나는 침엽수-낙엽활엽수의 혼합림 식생상태를 잘 대변해 주고 있는 것으로 판단된다. 끝으로, 의림지 호저 퇴적층 중에서 인위적인 교란흔적이 없는 암회색 유기질 니층에 대한 탄소연대측정 결과, 제1호공 12번 시료에서 950$\pm$40 years B.P을 얻었으며, 제3-1호공에서도 아래로 내려가면서 8, 10, 11번 시료에 대하여 500$\pm$30 years B.P, 650$\pm$30 years B.P, 800$\pm$40 years B.P의 연대측정 결과를 획득하였다. 이상과 같은 의림지 호저 퇴적층의 형성환경과 형성시기 연구를 통하여 의림지의 제방축조의 최초시기를 해석해 보면, 의림지의 제방은 적어도 과거 약 827년 전에서 866년 전에는 이미 축조되어 있었음을 알 수 있다. 과거 제천 일대에 살았던 옛사람들이 의림지 하류의 곡지중앙과 고기 충적선상지에 대한 관계용 용수조달의 필요성에 부응하여 상류부 곡지하천의 자연입지 환경을 최대한 이용하여 축조한 것으로 판단된다..준비하였다.전류를 구성하는 주요 입자의 에너지 영역(75~l13keV)에서 가장 높은(0.80) 상관계수를 기록했다. 넷째, 회복기 중에 일어나는 입자들의 유입은 자기폭풍의 지속시간을 연장시키는 경향을 보이며 큰 자기폭풍일수록 현저했다. 주상에서 관측된 이러한 특성은 서브스톰 확장기 활동이 자기폭풍의 발달과 밀접한 관계가 있음을 시사한다.se that were all low

Growth and Flowering of Eustoma grandiflorum as affected by Duration of Seedling Storage at 1$0^{\circ}C$ (고온기 육묘에서 유묘의 저온처이기간이 꽃도라지의 생장과 개화에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the growth and flowering responses of Eustoma grandiflorum cv. Azmasul, Azmahoon and Azmazo influenced by duration of storage at 1$0^{\circ}C$ of seedlings raised in warm season. The plants after cold treatment were cultivated in a glasshouse under natural day length with the minimum temperature of 12$^{\circ}C$. The stem thickness and number of leaves of Azmasul and Azmahoon were not affected by duration of cold treatment However, plant height, internode length fresh and. dry weights were significantly increased in the four-week treatment. In addition, four-week treatment increased flower weight and width. Bays to flowering of Azmasul and Azmahoon in four-week treatment were shortened by 20 days compared to the control or two-week treatment. Shoot growth and flower Qualify of Azmazo under the four-week treatment were promoted. Four-week treatment reduced the days to flowering of Azmazo by 31 and 36 days compared to the control and two-week treatment. The results of this study show that optimum duration for storage at l$0^{\circ}C$ for seedlings of Ewtoma grandiflorum cv Azmasul. Azmahoon and Azmazo grown in warm season is four weeks.

A Study on the Gas Chromatographic Analysis of Alcohols and Organic Acids during Takju Fermentation (가스 크로마토그래피에 의한 재래주 발효중 알코올과 유기산 분석)

  • Takju, a Korean traditional wine, was prepared by using nuruk and Koji which were inoculated with Aspergillus kawachii and Aspergillus shirousamii. Those chemical composition such as alcohols and organic acids were determined with gas chromatography to investigate the variation of its content by the fermentation. Alcohol such as methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, i-butyl, i-amyl alcohol were detected in the most takju mash samples. Alcohol contents in the groups fermented with KNR and SNR were slightly higher than KKR, SKR groups. Lactic acid were concentrated and organic acids such as pyruvic, oxalic, malonic, succinic, maleic, malic, ${\alpha}-keto$ glutaric acid were also detected in the most samples. The pH was lowest in the KKR group. The total acid content was slightly decreased at the later fermentation and was highest in KKR. The content of minerals were highest in the WNR and BNR groups. Throughout fermentation the content of potassium and magnesium varied greatly with the tested groups.

The Distribution of Chironomids by Hydraulic Structure in Circulating Channel (수리구조물의 영향을 받는 순환수로에서의 깔따구 분포)

  • 인공순환수로에 정육면체 수리구조물을 구간별로 설치하여 흐름특성에 따른 깔따구의 서식경향을 조사하였다. 정밀한 흐름특성을 분석하기 위하여 난류계산을 수행하였으며, 인공순환수로에 깔따구를 투입하고 3일경과 후 깔따구의 개체수를 조사하였다. 인공순환수로는 단면 폭 29cm, 높이 30cm인 구조로 제작되었으며 직선구간의 길이는 120cm이다. 인공순환수로의 직선구간에 길이 10cm의 정육면체 수리구조물을 20cm 간격으로 양쪽 벽면부에 4개씩 균일하게 설치하였다. 자연하천에서 채집된 원수를 수심 20cm가 되도록 투입한 후 유기물을 하상에 고르게 깔고, 회전날개를 이용하여 평균유속 10cm/s로 안정화 시킨 후 깔따구 투입하였다. 실험시작 3일 경과 후, 깔따구의 서식경향을 조사한 결과 깔따구는 수리구조물 직하류부에 주로 서식하였다. 이는 주 흐름방향 유속분포가 수리구조물 후방에서 급격히 작아져 깔따구들이 정착하기 좋은 환경을 제공하기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 또한 인공순환수로 직선구간의 안쪽 벽면과 바깥쪽 벽면의 깔따구 개체수는 안쪽 벽면이 바깥쪽 벽면에 비하여 2배 정도 많다. 이는 수리구조물 사이 안쪽 벽면 하상의 시계방향 회전흐름 때문으로 분석되며 상대적으로 이러한 흐름은 바깥쪽 벽면에서 작다. 실험 및 수치해석 결과, 깔따구는 상대적으로 유속이 작은 곳에 서식하며, 이차류의 경향에 따라 서식처를 이동하는 것으로 분석되었다. 향후 생태적 기능을 고려하여 다양한 수리학적 조건 하에서 난류계산 및 유속측정을 통한 연구가 필요하다. 이와 같은 연구는 친환경적으로 하천을 복원시키는데 유용한 자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.은 silt나 clay보다 입경이 큰 모래나 자갈을 경유 하면서 오염물의 저감효과가 감소한 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 유입유량의 대부분이 표면으로 유출된다는 점을 고려할 때 표면유출수의 오염도를 낮추는 것이 유입오염물 저감효과에 보다 큰 효과가 있을 것으로 판단된다.문에 자료의 이상적 유지 관리가 이루어지며 복잡한 2차원 수질해석 모형을 수월하게 운영할 수 있는 시스템으로 개발하였다.제외하면, 부자측정 방법에 의한 유량산정시 가장 큰 오차원인은 홍수시 측정된 유속측선의 위치와 홍수 전후로 측정된 횡단면상의 위치가 일치하지 않는 점과, 대부분 두 측정 구간의 평균값을 대푯값으로 사용한다는 점이다. 본 연구는 다년간의 유량 측정 및 검증 경험과 자료를 토대로 현장에서 부자를 이용하여 측정된 측정성과를 정확도 높은 유량자료로 산정하는데 있어서의 문제점을 도출하고, 이로 인해 발생하는 오차를 추정하여 그 개선방안을 제시해 보고자한다. 더불어 보다 정확한 유량 산정을 위한 기준과 범주를 제시하고자 한다.리적 특성을 잘 반영하며, 도시지역의 복잡한 배수시스템 해석모형과 지표범람 모형을 통합한 모형 개발로 인해 더욱 정교한 도시지역에서의 홍수 범람 해석을 실시할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 본 모형의 개발로 침수상황의 시간별 진행과정을 분석함으로써 도시홍수에 대한 침수위험 지점 파악 및 주민대피지도 구축 등에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 있을 것으로 판단되었다.4일간의 기상변화가 자발성 기흉 발생에 영향을 미친다고 추론할 수 있었다. 향후 본 연구에서 추론된 기상변화와 기흉 발생과의 인과관계를 확인하고 좀 더 구체화하기 위한 연구가 필요할 것이다.게

Growth of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer Underwood in Direct Sowing and Transplanting (임간재배 인삼의 직파 및 이식 재배에 따른 생육)

  • This experiment was carried out to investigation the growth differentiation between direct sowing and transplanting on P. ginseng cultivated on field and underwood. The results were as follows: In direct sowing treatment, emergence rate of P. ginseng cultivated on field and under conifer forest was above 80%, but it was only 40% at cultivated under broad-leaved forest. And survival rate was directly diminished about 10% every year. In transplanting treatment, survival rate was also diminished every year, it was slighter than that of direct sowing treatment. The growth amount of P. ginseng cultivated underwood was poor, compared to field culture, but there was no significant between conifer forest and broad-leaved forest. In transplanting treatment of 1 to 6 year-root seedling, survival rate of P. ginseng cultivated underwood was equal or slightly good compared to that of cultivated on field. Among seedling age, survival rate of elder seedling was lower than that of younger seedling. In P. ginseng cultivated underwood, the annual growth increment of 1 and 2 year-root seedling increased slowly and continually, whereas, that of 3 to 6 year-root seedling stopped or decreased slightly.
