The Effects of Self-Differentiation and Ego-Resilience on Service Maladjustment Behaviors of Social Service Agent (사회복무요원의 자아분화와 자아탄력성이 복무 부적응행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The objective of this study was to determine the effects of self-differentiation and ego-resilience on service maladjustment behaviors of Social Service Agent. To achieve this, we chose these research questions. To verify these research questions, data were collected by distributing 470 questionnaires to Social Service Agent serving in service organizations located in Seoul. Four hundred twenty-seven surveys were used for statistical analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, Social Service Agents were shown to generally adjust well to service, as self-differentiation and ego-resilience were slightly higher than the median, while service maladjustment behavior was slightly lower than the median. Second, when the effects of sociodemographic characteristics, self-differentiation and ego-resilience on service maladjustment behavior were studied, all values of sociodemographic characteristics, self-differentiation and ego-resilience affected all lower factors of service maladjustment behavior with significance. For social withdrawal, the effectiveness of interpersonal relations, optimistic attitude, and the degree of family regression had a negative correlation, and emotional divorce, education level, and term of service had a positive correlation. The degree of family regression, anger management, and cognitive function vs. emotional function had a negative correlation with hyperactivity while self unity had a positive one. Family regression, cognitive function vs. emotional function, anger management, and family's economic level negatively correlated with aggression. Family regression, optimistic attitude, cognitive function vs. emotional function, family's economic level and term of service had a negative correlation with obsession and compulsion.

Influence of Self-Identities in Real Space and Virtual Space on Game Addiction and Maladaptation: Focused on the Users of Online Role Playing Game (현실공간과 가상공간의 자아정체감이 게임중독과 현실부적응감에 미치는 영향: 온라인 롤프레잉 게임 이용자를 대상으로)

  • This study attempted to explore relationship between self-identities in real space and in virtual space and to inspect empirically both self-identities' influence on addiction and society maladaptation of online role playing game users. The verified results through this study are summarized as follows. First, both self-identity in real space and self-identity in virtual space represent strong interrelationship. In detail, the user with strong self-identity in real space shows strong self-identity in virtual space. Second, self-identities in two spaces have the negative interrelationship with game addiction and maladaptation. Whether real space or virtual space, the higher self-identity, the lower the levels of game addiction and maladaptation. Especially, self-identity in real space appeared an influential variable determining the level of addiction and maladaptation. Although self-identity in virtual space have not an independent influence, it has the possibility to effect complementary with self-identity in real space. This fact means that virtual space is not the place where the user with weak self-identity in real space can discovers the ideal self. Because they also experience the negative recognition about oneself in virtual space.

Relations of Self-esteem to Teaching Aptitude in Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers (예비유아교사의 자아존중감과 교직적성에 관한 연구)

  • Many factors that may affect teaching aptitude of pre-service early childhood teachers have been discovered. However, little is known about the relationship between self-esteem and teaching aptitude in them. This study aimed to investigated self-esteem in relation to teaching aptitude in pre-service early childhood teachers. Pre-service early childhood teachers' self-esteem scale and teaching aptitude scale assessed the self-esteem and teaching aptitude of 344 pre-service early childhood teachers in C-city in Gangwon-do and N-city in Kyunggi-do, Korea. Results showed that all four dimensions of the self-esteem were significantly related to teaching aptitude, indicating that pre-service early childhood teachers with higher self-esteem were likely to have greater teaching aptitude. Regression analysis indicated that self-esteem in the areas of leadership and popularity, self-assertiveness, and social-relations significantly predicted teaching aptitude of pre-service early childhood teachers.

Validation of the Motivational Self-Concept Rating Scale for Child Care Teachers (보육교사를 대상으로 한 동기부여적 자아개념척도 타당화 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to redefine and validate the motivational self-concept for child-care teachers. Based on related researches, items were remodified to be good enough to use for studying child-care teachers' motivational self-concept. Redefined items were analysed by factor analysis and validated by use of child-care teachers' professional recognition and their ego-resiliency. Researchers have garnered data from 321 child care teachers as convenience samples who are engaged in child care centers in Seoul and Kyunggi province by using questionnaire research methods. We have eliminated questions that are .40 below communality, questions by conducting exploratory factor analysis. As a result, 6 factors and 23 items were selected; 6 factors have indicated that it explained 77.12% of total variate motivational self-concept rating scale and ${\alpha}$ of Cronbach that of total items indicated acceptable level. After examining relevancy of child-care teachers' professional recognition and ego-resiliency to verify compliant feasibility of the motivational self-concept rating scale, the relation between motivational self-concept and professional recognition was .604(p<0.001) indicating significant static correlation and the relation between motivational self-concept and ego-resiliency was 4.456(p<0.01) indicating significant static correlation. Through this result, it is verified that motivational self-concept rating scale has compliant feasibility in professional recognition and ego-resiliency.

Effects of Temperament, Family Strength and Social Support on Ego-Resilience of Adolescents (청소년의 기질, 가족건강성 사회적 지지가 자아탄력성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of temperament, family strength and social support on ego-resilience of adolescents. Four hundred fifty middle and high school students in Incheon participated. Temperament, family strength, social support and ego-resilience were evaluated by self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using factor analyses, t-tests, descriptive statistics, correlations and standard multiple regression analyses. Results indicated that there was significant gender difference in ego-resilience. Adolescents' ego-resilience was positively associated with activity level and persistence in temperament, family strength and social support, but negatively associated with rigidity in temperament. Furthermore, gender, temperament, family strength and social support of class teacher and close friends significantly predicted ego-resilience of adolescents.

Relationship between Ego Resilience, Self Efficacy and Professional Self-concept of Nurse in Early stage nurses (초보간호사의 자아탄력성, 자기효능감, 간호전문직 자아개념의 관계)

  • This paper reports a descriptive correlation among ego-resilience, self-efficacy, and professional self-concept of nurses, and shows that there is a decrease of turnover intension in early stage nurses. The Data collection was conducted from June 1 to July 7, 2015. A survey using a structured questionnaire was conducted on 145 nurses working in one of three general hospitals. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, and Pearson's correlation coefficients, using SPSS WIN 18.0 program. The mean values were as follows: ego-resilience, 3.13 (${\pm}0.46$); self-efficacy, 3.64 (${\pm}0.64$); and professional self-concept of nurse, 2.95 (${\pm}0.50$). Among the factors related to the general characteristics of early stage nurses, marital status significantly affected ego-resilience, and total career significantly affected professional self-concept. There was a positive correlation between ego-resilience and professional self-concept in nurses (r=.305, p<.001). There was a positive correlation between self-efficacy and professional self-concept in nurses (r=.279, p=.001). It is necessary to develop a program to enhance early stage nurses' ego-resilience, self-efficacy, and professional self-concept.

The Relationship between Self-esteem and Mental Health of College Student in Some Regions (일부지역 대학생들의 자아존중감과 정신건강간의 관계)

  • This study investigates the relationship between self-esteem and mental health of college students. The data collected is to be utilized to promote effect methods of education and consultation that will improve the self-esteem and mental health of college students. There were a total of 468 questionnaires were distributed and collected from 2 universities and 3 community colleges between October 2nd and December 2nd 2010. The results of data analysis were as follows: First, there were no significant differences in the relationships between general characteristics and the perceptual self, the evaluative self, and self-esteem. Second, there were significant differences in the relationship between general characteristics and mental health according to economic situation, the year of entering college, satisfaction with your department, relationship with fellow classmates, and health status with regards to low mental health. Third, there was a partial correlation between perceptual self, evaluative self, and self-esteem. Perceptual self, evaluative self, and self-esteem were inversely related to obsessive compulsiveness, hostility, interpersonal sensitivity, physical, anxiety, delusional disorder, and psychosis. In conclusion, the results of this study would be used as the foundation for improving the self-esteem of college students and easing mental health with the development and implementation of a formal education program. It is also recognized that follow studies should be conducted to understand additional effects.

  • The purpose of this study was to introduce Self-Empowerment Program focusing on empowering social workers in individual level and to evaluate effectiveness of the program through practicing it. For the purpose, this study reviewed the concept of self-empowerment, theoretical background and content of the program. It examined effects of the program on mental health social workers' self concepts and clients' evaluation of the social workers, also. Through applying the program and analysing it, some significant differences were found in total positive self, self identity, self satisfaction, self behavior, moral ethical self, personal self, and family self score between intervention group and control group after the program. In evaluation of the social workers by the clients, the score of social workers in intervention group was increased after the program than control group's. These findings suggested that this program be helpful for social workers' self-empowerment and relationship with clients. It is meaningful to prove utility of the program in our social work situation with limited training or growing opportunities for social workers.

Analysis of Influential Variables on Career Maturity of Middle School Students - Focusing on Self-Identity - (중학생의 진로성숙도에 영향을 미치는 변인 분석 - 자아정체감을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships between the self-identity and career maturity of middle school students in Gyeongnam province. For this purpose following questions were formulated. First. Are there statistically significant differences in middle school students' self-identity by their background variables? Second, Are there statistically significant differences in middle school students' career maturity by their background variables? Third, How is the relationship between self-identity and career maturity? Fourth, How are the influences of background variables and self-identity on students' career maturity? Self-identity and career maturity were measured over 551 9th grade students(317 male and 234 female students) in Changwon, Jinju, Geoje, Hadong, Sancheong, and Tongreong areas. Frequency analysis, Cronbach'$\alpha$, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression were used for statistical analysis. The results indicated that: 1. There were statistically significant differences in self-identity by mother's educational level, student's GPA, and economical background; 2. There were statistically significant differences in career maturity by student's gender, mother's educational level, and student's GPA; 3. There was 3. There were high static correlation between self-identity and career maturity and its subordinate items; 4. Sex and self-identity and its sub-items of students' independence, self-receptiveness, firm future goals, goal-orientation, intimacy have relative influences on career maturity.
