If bullying is regarded as a form of abuse then professionals have a duty to detect it, take it seriously, and ensure that it is deal with to reduce the child's suffering and minimize the potential long term effects. This study is aimed preliminarily the development of cognitive behavioral group therapy for school bullied. 202 normal middle school freshman responded to self report scales- Offer's Self-Image Questionnaire-Revised, Children's Depression Inventory, Spielberger State/Trait Anxiety scale, and Defining Issues Test. The data were analyzed with Pearson's correlation to test the relationship among the above 4 variables. Self Image, depression, and anxiety were correlated strongly each other. But moral development was not correlated with self image, depression, and anxiety. Five school bullied students were referred by their teacher for school maladjustment. The author tried 12 sessions of Cognitive-Behavioral group therapy and assessed their behaviors pre- and post intervention by above 4 scales. There were no significant different intervention effects statistically. But It is meaningful that improvement of psychological mindedness in diary written by subject in treatment sessions

  • When people feel powerless (with losing control), they show compensatory behaviors to get out of this state. The actions to compensate for powerlessness have been studied in the contexts of products or brands, but this study focuses on compensatory behaviors when using social media. Social media, which can express consumers' selves freely, has become a platform for self-expansion. It has been confirmed that the possibility of relieving psychological powerlessness through self-expression on social media exists. Therefore, we examined how people who felt powerless showed compensatory behaviors on social media. According to the analysis, consumer's powerlessness does not directly affect narcissistic self-expression on social media. However, it is derived as being fully mediated by the feeling of anxiety. The more anxious consumers feel, the more narcissistic they express themselves by posting photos of themselves with luxury brand objects that can show social power or authority. In other words, when consumers experience social powerlessness coupled with anxiety, they are likely to show compensatory consumption behaviors such as narcissistic self-expression in order to make their images cool and luxurious and draw others' attention on social media. We confirm that the compensatory consumption due to consumers' powerlessness, which leads to having anxiety, can appear in ways of presenting narcissistic selves on social media.

  • The aim of this study is to examine the mediating effects of the social support and ego-resilience of adolescent counselors on the relationship between their job stress and burnout. The subjects of this research exercise comprised 250 adolescent counselors. Data were analyzed by means of Pearson's correlation and by structural equation modeling. The results were as follows. First, there was a positive correlation between job stress and burnout, and job stress had a negative correlation with social support and ego-resilience of the adolescent counselors. Moreover, social support and ego-resilience had a negative correlation with burnout. Second, social support did not have any direct impact on relieving burnout yet affected it in an indirect way through ego-resilience. Ego-resilience exerted both direct and indirect influence on reducing burnout. Therefore, it was found that the ego-resilience of the adolescent counselors was bound up with their job stress and there by exercised a significant influence on burnout. The findings of the study illustrated that as for the relationships among the job stress, social support, ego-resilience and burnout of the adolescent counselors, ego-resilience was a crucial variable in preventing burnout. This study is of significance in that it provided theoretical data which can be used when developing programs designed to prevent burnout in adolescent counselors.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between performance level and ego orientation and task orientation, which are sub-factors of achievement goal orientation, targeting the Korean youth badminton national team. Accordingly, two null hypotheses were established and tried to verify that there would be no difference in ego orientation and task orientation according to the performance level of the badminton youth representative players. A total of 92 middle and high school students were divided into upper and lower performance groups, and the differences between ego orientation and task orientation were investigated, respectively. For the measurement, We used sports achievement goal orientation (task and ego orientation in a sports questionnaire, TEOSQ). Data were analyzed by performing frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and independent t-test. As a result, there was no statistically significant difference in both the ego orientation and task orientation between the upper and lower groups of performance. We discussed based on the research results.
