Objectives : The purpose of this review is to overview the research trend of herbal medicine for urticaria. Methods : We searched for studies of urticaria treated with herbal medicine published from 2010 until March 2022, through 5 web databases. After searching studies, we analyzed selected studies. Results : As a result, 7 studies have been found and analyzed. Three studies were randomized controlled trials, and four studies were before & after clinical research. All of research which selected have reported that herbal medicine treatment was effective for urticaria. Conclusion : According to the results, herbal medicine treatments can be effective treatment for urticaria. Further clinical studies are expected using evaluation methods to analyze the results and to establish high level of evidence.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to report the clinical improvement of aggravated functional dyspepsia due to COVID-19 with Korean medicine treatment. Methods: To assess treatment outcomes, we used the GIS (Gastrointestinal Symptom Score), European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions (EQ-5D) scale, and Numeral Rating Scale (NRS). Results: After treatment, the patient's clinical symptoms improved, as indicated by GIS, EQ-5D, and NRS scores. Conclusions: Korean medicine treatment improved late complications in COVID-19 patients. This finding suggests the possibility of Korean medicine treatment for long-term COVID infections.

본 연구는 DMZ일원에서 생육하고 있는 자생식물에 대하여 우선순위를 설정하고, DMZ일원 종다양성의 지속적인 건강성 유지 및 보전을 위한 중장기 모니터링 기술을 개발하기 위하여 중점관리종을 선정하고자 하였다. 또한, 이를 토대로 DMZ지역과 북방계지역에 대한 생물자원을 연구할 수 있는 기본틀을 마련하고 생물권보전지역을 지정함으로써 국제교류 및 이해에 기여하는 연구를 수행하였다. 현재 DMZ일원의 관속식물상은 157과 754속 2,047종 12아종 340변종 105품종 총 2,504분류군이 생육하고 있다. 이 중 희귀식물은 총 285분류군, 특산식물은 총 124분류군, 침입외래식물은 130분류군이 분포하고 있다. 전체 2,504분류군 중 희귀식물, 특산식물, 침입외래식물을 대상으로 전국분포정보 및 DMZ일원 분포정보를 수집하였다. 이를 토대로 희귀 특산식물에 해당하는 보호종 선정을 위한 평가지표는 IUCN 적색목록기준 의 국내수준 및 DMZ일원의 희귀 특산식물의 등급을 CR종 3점, EN종 2점 VU종 1점으로 점수를 평가한 뒤 국내 분포 지역수(IUCN red list criteria B)에 대한 가중치를 적용하여 보호우선순위를(I$10,576.9km^2$) 대비 종 분포면적의 0~20% 1점, 21~40% 1.5점, 41~60% 2점, 61~80% 2.5점, 81~100% 3점으로 분포등급을 평가한 뒤 생태교란종(14분류군) 및 산림침입종(181분류군)에 대한 가중치를 적용하여 관리우선순위를(I

The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy of using Korean medicine treatment with post-concussion syndrome. We primarily treated the patient's post-concussion syndrome during hospitalization (22.04-22.11.11) with Korean medicine treatments (herbal medicine, acupuncture, and Chuna therapy). The KHIT-6 and Numeric Rating Scale were used to assess symptom (headache, dizziness, and nausea) changes. Following treatment, the patient's KHIT-6 and Numeric Rating Scale scores decreased. This study suggests that Korean medicine may be effective in the treatment of post-concussion syndrome.

붉가시나무는 기후변화에 따라 분포 확산이 예측되고 목재로서의 이용가치가 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 국내에서 붉가시나무의 자원량 및 생육환경을 파악하기 위하여 국내 분포 및 자생지의 식생구조를 분석하였다. 분포 범위 조사 결과, 제주도를 비롯한 남해안의 도서지역에 주로 분포하는데, 제주도 남부지역 약 200~800m에 분포하며 가거도, 완도, 진도 등에 주로 분포하였다. 지역별 자생지의 입지분석 결과, 교목층의 수고는 제주도에서 17.3m로 가장 높고 가거도의 경우 11.3m로 가장 낮았다. 또한 가거도 자생지의 경우 노출암 비율 70.7%, 평균 경사도 약 $30^{\circ}$로 경사가 매우 급하고 토양층이 가장 빈약하였다. 반면, 제주도에서는 계곡 사면이나 완만한 경사의 산록지대에 주로 분포하였다. 자생지의 식생구조를 파악하기 위하여 수종별 평균중요도지수를 산출한 결과, 교목층에서는 붉가시나무가 가장 높았다. 아교목층의 평균중요도지수는 제주도, 완도, 진도 자생지의 경우 동백나무가 각각 150.93, 83.54, 91.38로 가장 높았는데 이는 동백나무의 밀도가 상대적으로 높았기 때문이다. 반면 가거도 자생지에서는 붉가시나무의 평균중요도지수가 66.55로 가장 높게 산출되었다. 자생지 내 수종의 흉고직경에 따른 수고의 분포는 제주도, 진도, 완도 자생지의 경우 붉가시나무와 기타 수종이 전체 층위에서 고르게 분포하였지만 가거도 자생지에서는 상층일수록 경쟁 종없이 단일종이 분포하는 단순림으로 나타났다. 이 같은 단순림에서는 일시적인 교란에 의해 상층 개체가 없어지면 안정적으로 후대 개체를 생산할 수 없기 때문에 숲 가꾸기와 같은 적극적인 조절이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 종다양도지수 분석결과, 층위가 높을수록 균재도가 낮게 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 붉가시나무림의 조성이나 안정적 유지 등 인위적 조절을 위한 기초 자료로 활용 할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

본 연구는 제주고사리삼 자생지의 입지환경과 식생 특성을 파악하기 위하여 이루어졌다. 각 자생지들은 자생지의 깊이, 암석 노출 비율, 우점 수종, 주변식생 등에 따라 2가지 유형으로 구분되었으며, 이에 따라 자생지의 식생이 다르게 나타났다. 암석이 노출된 유형의 자생지는 인접 지역과의 지형적인 경계가 뚜렷하고, 대부분 습한 환경에 자라는 수목으로 구성되어 있다. 이에 비해 토양이 풍부한 유형의 자생지는 깊이가 얕고, 토양이 발달되어 있으며 주변에서 이입된 수목이 분포하였다. 하지만, 초본층은 대부분 수생식물이 우점하며 이는 자생지가 습지의 특성을 갖는다는 것을 보여준다. 따라서 제주고사리삼 자생지는 소택지와 매우 유사한 특성을 가지며, 제주고사리삼의 보존을 위해서는 자생지가 이러한 습지의 특성을 유지하도록 하는 것이 매우 중요할 것이다.

Objective: This study reports the efficacy of using integrative Korean medicine treatments for a patient with facial paralysis and accompanying trigeminal neuralgia. Methods: A 45-year-old male patient with left side facial palsy and facial pain due to Bell's palsy with trigeminal neuralgia was treated with herbal medicine, acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and cupping for 18 days. The treatment effect was evaluated by measuring the scores for the numerical rating scale (NRS) of facial pain, the House-Brackmann scale, and the Yanagihara scale. Results: After the hospital treatment, the patient's facial pain NRS score was decreased, and the House-Brackmann scale and Yanagihara scale scores improved after the administration of the Korean medicine treatments. Conclusions: The integrative Korean medicine treatments appeared to be effective in treating facial nerve palsy and associated trigeminal neuralgia.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of traditional Korean medicine as a treatment for a diabetic patient diagnosed with herniated intervertebral lumbar discs. Methods: We treated the patient with herbal medicines, acupuncture, herbal acupuncture therapy, and physical therapy. We measured the state and progress of this case with the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI). We also checked serum glucose levels (FBS/PP2hrs) regularly. Results: After treatment, the NRS score was decreased, the ODI score was improved, and the blood glucose level was stabilized. The overall symptoms of the patient showed positive improvement.

Objectives: This study investigated the efficacy of Korean medical treatment for reflux esophagitis. Methods: We used Korean medical treatment (herbal medicines, acupuncture, herbal acupuncture, and therapy) to treat a hospitalized patient with reflux esophagitis. To evaluate the treatment, we measured the symptoms using the Reflux Symptom Index (RSI) and the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for heartburn, acid reflux, chest pain, foreign body sensations in the throat, chronic cough, hoarseness, and bronchial asthma. The generic health status was evaluated using the European Quality of Life Five-Dimension (EQ-5d) Scale. Results: The RSI and EQ-5d scores improved following treatment, but the VAS scores showed that only heartburn, acid reflux, and chest pain symptoms were relieved. Conclusions: This study suggests that Korean medicine may be effective for treating reflux esophagitis.

This report describes the efficacy of using Yangshimtang-gamibang for a sleep disorder caused by a traffic accident. We treated a patient with Yangshimtang-gamibang for 12 days for sleep disorder caused by a traffic accident. To evaluate the results, we used the Korean Modified Leeds Sleep Evaluation Questionnaire (KMLSEQ) to measure sleep disorder. The degree of sleep disorder was also evaluated using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). The generic health status was evaluated using the European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions (EQ-5D) scale. Improvements in the NRS and EQ-5D scale scores were observed after the treatments. The change in the KMLSEQ score indicates that the patient's sleep disorder was relieved. The results of this case study suggest that Yangshimtang-gamibang may be an effective treatment for sleep disorders caused by traffic accident.
