  • An automotive wheel bearing is important part that translates rotating motion and bears vehicle weight. Recently, in accordance with the demands for $CO_2$ emission reduction and fuel economy regulation, the requirements for the weight reduction and miniaturization of vehicles has increased. Therefore, life evaluation technology of the bearings has increased in necessity. Since the bearing life is affected by many parameters such as bearing geometry, bearing specifications, and vehicle specifications, it is difficult to predict. In this paper, the bearing life was tested by varying the applied load and rotation speed and comparing them with the basic rating life and modified rating life that were suggested in ISO standards. From the results, it was found that there was a difference between the test life and theoretical life and modified rating life than basic rating life was to be relatively well predicted by test life.

  • 복사기. 팩스 렌즈 등 대향생산되는 광학계를 실시간에 성능평가하기 위하여 5개의 십자형 슬릿 물체와 3개의 2차원 CCD를 상분석장치로 사용한 자동평가장치를 개발하였다. 시험렌즈의 사양에 따라 물체와 렌즈, 그리고 상분석장치를 이동시키는 자동정렬장치를 제작하였으며 슬릿의 수직 및 수평방향 선분포 함수를 CCD에 의햐여 동시에 측정하였다. 그리고 렌즈의 축상 및 비축상 MTF와 배율, 편심, 그리고 회전위치에 따른 최적방향 등을 자동으로 실시간에 측정할 수 있었다.

  • 국내 발전소에서 사용하고 있는 대형 회전 기계인 터빈의 상태 진단 기능을 높이기 위하여 터빈에서 발생 될 수 있는 이상 진동의 특성을 파악하고 이를 이용하여 이상 진동의 발생 가능성을 확률적으로 출력하는 새로운 알고리즘을 개발하였으며, C-언어로 프로그램하여 이를 검증하였다. 이상과 같이 본 연구에서 제안한 알고리즘을 이용한 자동 진단 시스템을 통하여 각각의 이상 진동에 대한 진단을 수행한 결과 양호한 판정 결과를 보였으며, 터빈 이상 진동에 대한 자동 진단의 가능성을 입증하였다.

  • This paper introduces a development of the auto sushi conveyer-belt payment system using UHF RFID dishes. In a sushi bar, instead of counting the number of the finished sushi dishes, sushi dishes with the UHF RFID have been used in the auto payment system to have accuracy and convenience. To recognize each dish, the UHF RFID tag has been designed, and auto-payment system has been developed. The UHF RFID tag under the dish has been recognized by an RFID reader, and the auto RFID payment system shows the total price of the finished dishes based on the color and number of dishes automatically. The performance of the developed UHF RFID tag and auto RFID payment system have been measured and verified.

Design of an Automatic Winch System for Small Fishing Vessel (소형 어선의 자동 권양 윈치시스템 설계)

  • A small hydraulic winch system with an automatic tension control unit was designed to improve the work efficiency of coastal small vessels and the dynamic response characteristics of the winch system operated in the open loop condition was investigated. The inlet and the outlet pressures in hydraulic motor, the torque and the rotating speed of winch drum were measured as a function of time, and the behaviour in autotension mode for stepped load changes was analyzed. The results obtained are summarized as follows : 1. The developed winch system for coastal small vessels will result in better fishing with improved efficiency and lower manpower consumption by remote control of winch system. 2. The rotating delay times of winch drum for on/off operations of solenoid valve were 0.09 see at CW mode and 0.04 sec at CCW mode, respectively. After the solenoid valve was controlled, response characteristics were unstable slightly but showed good tracking behaviour over short time. 3. The driving torque of winch system in autotension mode was kept almost constant of 55.9 kgf·m, and 11.1 then the rotating speed of winch drum was kept almost constant of 5.1 rpm in the larger torque than 55.9 kgf·m and 11.1 rpm in the lower torque than that. 4. The 5% settling times in the transient response characteristics of autotension mode under rapid increasing and decreasing conditions of load were 0.12 sec and 0.2 sec, respectively, and then the rotating speeds were 11 rpm and 5.3 rpm, respectively. 5. The tracking behaviour of torque and rotating speed by remote control operation were stable within 0.23 sec at CW mode and 0.37 sec at CCW mode, respectively.

  • In this paper, we proposed the automatical recognition algorithm of bar-code using a vision system, which can be used in the industrial application(code 93). The proposed algorithm extracts the pixels which consist of the bar-code modules unrelated to rotation, then that obtains the elements which consist of bars and spaces. After the obtained elements are divided by nine group, the value of bar-code is recognized. The performance of proposed algorithm is verified through the simulation. The proposed one has good performance.

  • In this paper, we present automatic face detection and tracking which is robustness in rotation and translation. Detecting a face image, we used Haar-like feature, which is fast detect facial image. Also tracking, we applied Lucas-Kanade feature tracker and KLT algorithm, which has robustness for rotated facial image. In experiment result, we confirmed that face detection and tracking which is robustness in rotation and translation.

  • 본 논문은 자동변속기를 탑재한 차량에서 에어콘(air condition)을 작동시키고, 공 회전시 기어의 변속을 "D"단에 두었을 때 실내에서 발생하는 이상음의 원인규명 및 해결 방 법에 관한 연구 결과를 논하고자 한다. 이 이상한 소음의 원인을 규명하기 위하여 실린더 내부의 연소압력, 메인 베어링캡(main bearing cap)의 진동, 엔진 마운팅 보스의 진동 및 차 량의 실내소음을 동시에 측정하여 분석하였으며 이 결과에 의하면 이상음의 원인은 크랭크 샤프트(crank shaft)의 굽힘진동이 파워플랜트(power plant)를 가진하여 진동을 증가시키고, 이 진동이 마운팅 보스를 통하여 차량의 차체에 전달되며, 차체의 진동에 의해서 발생하는 고체 전달음(structure-borne noise)이었다. 또한 이상음의 주기는 주파수 성분은 200-400Hz 이었다. 이 이상음은 크랭크 샤프트의 댐퍼 풀리의 질량을 저감하여 크랭크 샤프트의 동특 성을 개선함으로서 해결가능하고, 혹은 점화시기를 지연하여 연소 압력을 낮춤으로서 해결 가능하다.

  • Monitoring and diagnosis of the operating machine mean evaluating the condition of a machine such as the detection of the defects and the prediction of the time to failure in the machine elements, while it is running. In this study, a technique of automatic diagnosis using probability concept is studied and the analyses of the pattern comparison are introduced. An expert system, which is able to analyze the automatic identification of the multiple defects in the ball bearings, is also developed. Finally, to confirm the effectiveness of the programmed algorithms, some tests were made with specimens of the ball bearings involving the multiple defects. The proposed system reasonably predicts the defects.
