A Design and Implementation of Framework for Interworking between Heterogeneous Vehicle Networks for Intelligent Transportation System (지능형 교통시스템을 위한 이기종 차량 네트워크의 연동 프레임워크 설계 및 구현)

  • There are many kinds of networks in vehicle for their purposes. In-vehicle networks, however, are not unified to single network. The networks are composed of several local networks because of communication speed, cost and efficiency. Because the complexity of network design for communication increases, local networks need a framework for interworking between heterogeneous networks. In this paper, a framework interworking between in-vehicle networks for ITS(Intelligent Transportation System) is proposed and implemented. The proposed framework consists of a compatible protocol, message conversion module, message transceiver module and message analysis module. The results obtained by implementation show that the framework efficiently supports the communication of information between heterogeneous in-vehicle networks.

  • This Paper describes algorithm to extract license plates in vehicle images. Conventional methods perform preprocessing on the entire vehicle image to produce the edge image and binarize it. Hough transform is applied to the binary image to find horizontal and vertical lines, and the license plate area is extracted using the characteristics of license plates. Problems with this approach are that real-time processing is not feasible due to long processing time and that the license plate area is not extracted when lighting is irregular such as at night or when the plate boundary does not show up in the image. This research uses the gray level transition characteristics of license plates to verify the digit area by examining the digit width and the level difference between the background area the digit area, and then extracts the plate area by testing the distance between the verified digits. This research solves the problem of failure in extracting the license plates due to degraded plate boundary as in the conventional methods and resolves the problem of the time requirement by processing the real time such that practical application is possible. This paper Presents a power automated license plate recognition system, which is able to read license numbers of cars, even under circumstances, which are far from ideal. In a real-life test, the percentage of rejected plates wan 13%, whereas 0.4% of the plates were misclassified. Suggestions for further improvements are given.

  • In this paper, we has proposed an automatic vehicle monitoring system based on computer vision technology. The real-time display system has displayed a system that can be performed in automatic monitoring and control while meeting the essential requirements of ITS. Another advantage has that for a powerful vehicle tracking, the main obstacle handing system, which has the shadow tracking of moving objects. In order to obtain all kinds of information from the tracked vehicle image, the vehicle must be clearly displayed on the surveillance screen. Over time, it's necessary to precisely control the vehicle, and a three-dimensional model-based approach has been also necessary. In general, each type of vehicle has represented by the skeleton of the object or wire frame model, and the trajectory of the vehicle can be measured with high precision in a 3D-based manner even if the system has not running in real time. In this paper, we has applied on segmentation method to vehicle, background, and shadow. The validity of the low level vehicle control tracker was also detected through speed tracking of the speeding car. In conclusion, we intended to improve the improved tracking method in the tracking control system and to develop the highway monitoring and control system.

  • This paper proposes a novel network jitter estimation algorithm for robust VoIP communication system. The proposed method computes the current network environment mode using the differences of arrival time and generation time from sequential received packets. According to the current network environment mode, the jitter variance weights is adjusted to minimize the error for estimating the network jitter. The jitter average and variance are calculated by the autoregressive estimated algorithm, and then the network jitter is estimated by applying the jitter variance weights.

  • The important goal of the unmanned vehicle technology is on controlling the direction and speed of the vehicle with information acquired from various sensors, without the intervention of the driver, until the vehicle reaches to its destination. In this paper, our focus is on developing an unmanned conveyance system by exploiting low-cost sensing technology for indoor factories or warehouses, where the moving range of the vehicle is limited. To this end, we propose an architecture of a scalable automated conveyance system. Our proposed system includes a number of unmanned conveyance vehicles, and the efficient control mechanism of the vehicles without neither conflicts nor deadlock between the vehicles being simultaneously moved. By implementing the real prototype of the system, we successfully verify the efficiency and functionality of the proposed system.

  • The convergence of the automotive industry and the ICT technology can be broadly divided into the commercial service sector and the Cooperative-ITS (C-ITS) service sector. The C-ITS service sector is using V2X communication technology as a field that aims to provide safer transportation, more green and efficient transportation, and more predictable and productive mobility. The recent convergence of self-driving cars and connected cars requires high data rates, low transmission delays, and low transmission error rates. Interest in comparison of performance between WAVE and C-V2X (LTE-V2X, 5G-V2X) has been amplified and application services by communication technology are being studied. In this paper, we design the application performance evaluation method of Hybrid V2X communication system and confirm that the decrease of packet error rate (PER) performance is caused by the increase of communication distance, not the vehicle speed.

  • As the developing of the information technology, M2M market that is using communication between devices is growing rapidly and many companies are involved in M2M business. In this paper, the concept of telematics and vulnerabilities of vehicle network security are discussed. The convergence of vehicle and information technology, the development of mobile communication technology have improved quality of service that provided to user but as a result security threats has diverse. We proposed new business model that be occurred to the participation of mobile carriers in telematics business and we analyzed mobile radio communication network security vulnerabilities. We proposed smart phone and Vehicle authentication scheme with M2M device as a way to solve vulnerabilities.

  • 최근 강화된 국내외의 배출가스 규제 조건을 충족시키기 위해, 사용자의 요구대로 연료의 분사시기와 분사량을 조절할 수 있는 CRDI ECU 제어 알고리즘의 개발이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 산업용 CRDI 엔진 전용 ECU에 적용할 수 있는 노킹 판별 및 엔진 밸런스 보정이 가능한 노킹 분석 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 개발한 노킹 분석 시뮬레이터의 결과를 OBD-II 표준을 사용하여 차량 위주의 진단기를 개발하여 운전자가 직접 차량을 진단할 수 있는 운전자 중심의 진단 서비스를 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위해 자동차 고장진단 신호 및 센서 출력 신호를 유선시스템과 무선 시스템인 블루투스 모듈을 이용하여 실시간 통신이 제공 될 수 있는 OBD-II 진단기 S/W 설계 방안을 제안함으로써 차량의 연비를 향상시키고, 유해 배출가스의 발생을 최소화하여 엔진 효율성의 개선 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • The information and communication technology that is being developed recently has been greatly influencing the automobile market. In recent years, devices equipped with IT technology have been installed for the safety and convenience of the driver. However, it has the advantage of increased convenience as well as the disadvantage of increasing traffic accidents due to driver 's distraction. In order to prevent such accidents, it is necessary to develop safety systems of various types and ways. In this paper, we propose a method to implement a multi-function camera driving safety system that notifies a pedestrian and lane departure warning without using a radar sensor or a stereo video image, and a study on the analysis of a lane departure alarm software result.
