Characteristics of Biological Nitrogen Removal for Low C/N Ratio Municipal Wastewater Using Methanol as an External Carbon Source in $A_2O$ Fluidized Media Process (유동여재 $A_2O$공정에서 외부탄소원으로 메탄올을 이용한 낮은 C/N비 하수의 생물학적 질소제거 특성)

  • This experiment was performed to evaluate the characteristics of BNR system performance, behavior of pollutants as organic and nitrogen at each basin and the effects of C/N ratio on biological nitrogen removal with methanol as an external carbon source for a low C/N ratio municipal wastewater. A lab-scale $A_2O$ system by employing the aerobic basin with the fluidized polyurethane media, which was $10{\sim}20$ mm rube type like a sponge, was used. The aerobic basin was hybrid type to be suspended and fixed biomass. The obtained results from this study were as follows; When no methanol was added, suspended biomass was 3 times more than that of the fluidized media in this system(total biomass 80 g). Biomass growed by an external carbon was firstly attached on media, and then suspended. $COD_{Cr}$ concentration for the effluent was a range of 13 to 29 mg/L regardless of pouring an external carbon. For nitrogen, the effluent concentration was $20.0{\sim}35.9mg/L$(removal efficiency; 18%) in case of no addition of an external carbon, but was $2.5{\sim}9.0mg/L$(removal efficiency ; $71{\sim}83%$) with addition of methanol. For the characteristics of pollutants removal, most of $COD_{Cr}$ were removed at the anaerobic basin when no external organic carbon was added, and were removed at the anoxic basin in case of adding external organic carbon but at the aerobic basin in case of adding excess external organic carbon. On the other hand, most TIN(total inorganic nitrogen) were removed at the anaerobic basin when no external organic carbon was added, but when an external organic carbon was added, they were removed at the anaerobic basin under unstable condition and at the anoxic basin under stable condition.

  • Cyber education fields have been changed a lot with the internee development. One of them is the field of consultation for university admission. As for the business of university admission, there were two ways applicants handed in their applications directly to school which they applied to and to each place to receive applications or sent them through FAX. Recently, highlighted is the internee environment to receive the application for admission which integrated organically the two ways. This paper aims to design and implement a multi-consulting-agent system having intelligence which helps applicants make their right applications for colleges or universities through internet system after guiding a proper department to them.

  • 현재와 같은 지식정보화사회에서는 우수한 IT인력 확보가 곧 국가와 기업의 경쟁력이다. 이를 위해 대학과 기업은 맞춤형 IT인력 양성을 위해 다양한 산학협력을 실시하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 부산지역 4년제 대학의 1999학년도부터 2006학년도까지 총 8년간의 입시 변화를 추적 조사하여 IT관련 모집단위의 핵심단어를 5개 그룹($\Delta$전기 전자분야(G1), $\Delta$통신분야(G2), $\Delta$컴퓨터분야(G3), $\Delta$멀티미디어 콘텐츠(G4), $\Delta$IT융합 특성화(G5))으로 묶고, 각 그룹별로 다시 몇 개의 세분류로 나누어 제시하였다. 본 논문은 대학의 IT관련 학부명 학과명 전공명 등 모집단위의 변화가 어떤 변화를 거쳤으며 또한 이의 모집정원은 어떤 변화를 가져 왔는지에 대한 총괄적인 조사를 위한 IT $\ulcorner$학부 학과 전공$\lrcorner$ 의 핵심단어에 의한 그룹별 분류 체계에 관한 연구이다.

  • In the College Scholastic Ability Test, applicants of science tracks usually choose type Ga mathematics. However, students who took type Na mathematics test can also apply to science and engineering tracks in many universities by cross-Applications. Many universities have given additional points to type Ga mathematics test taker in order to recruit students who excel in the natural science track curriculum. In this paper, we study the necessity and effect of additional points system by using the data of Seoul National University of Science and Technology.

  • Traditionally, the university mathematics has consisted of contents without consideration of the students' major and state of students' academic achievement. Even though this kind of policy seems to be good overall, there are some drawbacks because it does not give much consideration to the current system of entrance examinations and change of society. Hence we are required to classify contents of general university mathematics according to particular majors and colleges. Furthermore, we need to adjust the difficulty level of contents according to the appropriate level of academic need and standard.

Evaluation of Performance of Atmospheric Re-Entry System for the Uncertainties Using the Monte-Carlo Simulation (몬테-칼로 모의실험을 이용한 대기권 재진입 시스템의 불확실성 성능 평가)

  • The Monte-Carlo simulation of statistical analysis is used to investigate the final conditions of states as well as the footprint boundaries resulting from the atmospheric re-entry dispersions. The re-entry dispersions in this paper are specified by a $7\times7$ covariance matrix of latitude, longitude, altitude, bank angle, flight path angle, heading error, and range at entry velocity. The error sources that affect these at re-entry for a deboost are the uncertainties associated with atmospheric density and temperature, initial errors, wind, and estimation error of aerodynamic coefficients. Using $3{\sigma}_n$ deviations of these errors and a nominal flight trajectory, the covariance matrix of state variables can be determined by performing a trajectory error analysis. Major considerations in the application of the Monte-Carlo method are the simulation of perturbed trajectories, bank reversal, and determination of the impact points for each of these trajectories. This paper analyzes the results of uncertainties from the viewpoint of aero-coefficients and bank reversal.

Meaning Making for the Experience of Retaking College Entrance Examination (대학입시 재수경험에 대한 의미화작업)

  • The present study aimed at investigating how those students who retook college entrance examination(or RCEE) appreciate the experience. For this purpose, three persons from each cell at the 2(satisfaction with college life: high vs. low) by 2 (evaluation of RCEE: positive vs. negative) combination among those who participated in Lee and Jung study (2014) were selected and were interviewed. Qualitative data analysis based on phenomenological approach produced seven categories and 19 subcategories, which were grouped on the temporal dimension. First, when they were at the midst of this RCEE experience, the college students saw this as adversity that should be overcome while they underwent a limit of pain they could bear. Second, the college students evaluated this experience as upgrading my life with wound left unseen. Finally, they assigned to both of the positive and negative aspects of RCEE experience the meaning that the experience made them accept themselves as they were. Given these results, implications, limitations of this study were discussed.

  • In order to improve productivity, reduce costs, and improve decision-making efficiency, which are one of the main contents of the digital transformation promotion goal, many companies are promoting the introduction of various IT for digital transformation. Information technology (IT) is a key means of determining competitiveness, and the IT adoption worldwide is increasing every year. The financial industry is also actively introducing huge amounts of IT every year to generate profits, improve work efficiency, and secure a strategic competitive advantage. Compared to some studies on the IT adoption in the public and corporate sectors, empirical studies that reflect the characteristics of the financial industry are insufficient. In this study, the purpose of this study was to derive factors affecting the IT adoption in the financial industry for the promotion of digital transformation, and to analyze weights and priorities. By revealing through data analysis that there is a difference in the relative priorities of factors in the financial IT adoption for each group, it can be used as a reference model for which factors should be considered prior to IT adoption from the perspective of each group. It will be meaningful in that it exists.

Prediction of Correct Answer Rate and Identification of Significant Factors for CSAT English Test Based on Data Mining Techniques (데이터마이닝 기법을 활용한 대학수학능력시험 영어영역 정답률 예측 및 주요 요인 분석)

  • College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT) is a primary test to evaluate the study achievement of high-school students and used by most universities for admission decision in South Korea. Because its level of difficulty is a significant issue to both students and universities, the government makes a huge effort to have a consistent difficulty level every year. However, the actual levels of difficulty have significantly fluctuated, which causes many problems with university admission. In this paper, we build two types of data-driven prediction models to predict correct answer rate and to identify significant factors for CSAT English test through accumulated test data of CSAT, unlike traditional methods depending on experts' judgments. Initially, we derive candidate question-specific factors that can influence the correct answer rate, such as the position, EBS-relation, readability, from the annual CSAT practices and CSAT for 10 years. In addition, we drive context-specific factors by employing topic modeling which identify the underlying topics over the text. Then, the correct answer rate is predicted by multiple linear regression and level of difficulty is predicted by classification tree. The experimental results show that 90% of accuracy can be achieved by the level of difficulty (difficult/easy) classification model, whereas the error rate for correct answer rate is below 16%. Points and problem category are found to be critical to predict the correct answer rate. In addition, the correct answer rate is also influenced by some of the topics discovered by topic modeling. Based on our study, it will be possible to predict the range of expected correct answer rate for both question-level and entire test-level, which will help CSAT examiners to control the level of difficulties.

  • In this study, mathematics exams for university entrance in the USA, the UK, Australia, Singapore, and Japan are investigated. We look into SAT, ACT and AP-course in the USA, GCE A-level test in the UK and Singapore, VCE in Australia, and UECE (University Entrance Center Exam) and individual university's admission tests in Japan. Those exams are analyzed in terms of exam system, mathematical contents, types of items, and testing time. Based on the result five issues on university entrance exam system in Korea are drawn out: types of tests, mathematical contents, item types, sub-items, and opening tests results to the public.
