A Study on the Compensating System for the Acoustic Characteristics Caused by the Variation of Distance from Sound Source to Microphone (음원과 마이크로폰 사이의 거리변화에 의한 음향 특성 보정에 관한 연구)

  • In this thesis, studied the method to minimize the changes in frequency response and level due to the variation of the distance from the source to the microphone. selecting three microphones (omni directional, cardioid, super cardioid) which are being used generally, frequency responses were measured in accordance with the distance changes. Gotten the difference from the reference as the result of measurement, changed responses for each frequency range were compensated in comparison of the original human vocal source. In low frequency range, the low frequency boost caused by the proximity effect and decrease in accordance with the distance were compensated. The variation in mid-frequency range is comparatively small, however since the mid-range is the most important part of the human vocal signal, were compensated the mid-frequency range in comparison of the reference. The human vocal signal variation in high frequency range is extremely small and the high frequency is compensated close to the original source without difficulty. Understanding the microphone characteristics and compensations, this study showed that the response can be maintain among the change of the distance from the source to the microphone.

Aperture Cut-off Filter for Reduction of Electromagnetic Field Penetration through a Slot in Conducting Screens (도체평판의 슬롯 침투 전자파 저감을 위한 개구면 차단필터)

  • The purpose of this paper is to present the aperture cut-off filter for reduction of electromagnetic field penetration through a slot in conducting screen. The reduction characteristics of electric field penetration by the aperture cut-off filter are considered. In order to establish the concept of the aperture cut-off filter, the integral equation on the slot aperture field distribution is derived and solved by method of moments, and the reduction characteristics of penetration electric fields for the incident plane wave are calculated. The numerical results showed that the aperture cut-off filter for reduction of electric field penetration through the slot can be realized. To check the validity of the concept of an aperture cut-off filter and the theoretical analysis, the calculated electric field penetration of the metallic wall with narrow slot were compared with the experimental results.

  • In this paper, we numerically investigated the optimum pump light power resulting best compensation of pulse distortion due to both chromatic dispersion and self phase modulation (SPM) in long-haul 3×40 Gbps wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) systems. We used mid-span spectral inversion (MSSI) method with path-averaged intensity approximation (PAIA) as compensation approach, which have highly nonlinear dispersion shifted fiber (HNL-DSF) as nonlinear medium of optical phase conjugator (OPC) in the mid-way of total transmission line. We confirmed that HNL-DSF is an useful nonlinear medium in OPC for wideband WDM transmission, and in order to achieve the excellent compensation the pump light power is selected to equal the conjugated light power into the latter half fiber section with the input light power of WDM channel depending on total transmission length. Also we confirmed that compensation degree of WDM channel with small conversion efficiency is improved by using pump light power increasing power conversion ratio upper than 1.

  • 순 장파복사량은 지표면으로 입사되는 하강 장파복사량(Downward Longwave Radiation, $R_{ld}$)과 지표면에서 반사되는 상승 장파복사량(Upward Longwave Radiation, $R_{lu}$)의 차이로 정의되는데 이는 에너지 수지 및 농업기상 연구의 중요한 주제 중 하나로서 다루어져 온 순복사량의 중요한 요소이다. 일반적으로 $R_{lu}$의 경우 지표면 온도와 방사율(emissivity)를 이용하여 산출되므로 정확히 추정이 가능하나, $R_{ld}$의 경우 대기 최상층에서 관측되는 방사량과 지표면 근처의 방사량을 함께 고려해야 하므로 실측이 어렵다. $R_{ld}$는 야간 복사계(pyrgeometer)를 이용하여 직접적으로 측정할 수 있지만 관측기기 자체가 구비되어있는 관측소가 적어 매우 드물게 이용된다. 또한 단파 복사 에너지 측정 기기에 비해 비용이 많이들고 종종 관측값이 큰 오차를 가지고 있기 때문에 실무에 적용하기 힘든 단점이 있다. 따라서 기상 관측소에서 얻어지는 증기압과 온도 관측치를 물리식, 경험식 등에 적용하여 산정하게 된다. 현재는 $R_{ld}$의 추정은 관측된 방사량간의 관계를 나타내는 경험식을 기반으로 지표면 근처의 대기 온도와 습도를 이용하여 산출하는 방법이 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 증발산 산정 알고리즘 개발의 시발점으로써 $R_{ld}$를 먼저 구하고 $R_{lu}$를 구하였다. 신뢰성 높은 방법을 이용하여 $R_{ld}$를 구하게 되면 정확도 높은 $R_N$을 구하는 데 기여할 수 있으며, 궁극적으로 보다 정확한 증발산을 산정할 수 있게 된다. $R_{ld}$는 일반적으로 clear sky 조건 하에서의 복사 에너지 플럭스($R_{ldc}$)를 구한 후 구름의 양에 따라 보정한다. 하강 장파복사량의 경우 널리 사용되는 공식 중 하나인 Brutsaert의 공식을 사용하였다. 광릉, 해남에 위치한 플럭스 타워지점에서 실측된 기온과 실제 수증기압을 입력인자로 사용하여 지점별 $R_{ldc}$를 먼저 구하고 Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) 영상자료를 이용하여 검증한 뒤 최종적으로 남한지역을 대상으로 순 장파복사량 지도를 작성하였다. 이를 위해 MODIS 07 대기 프로파일 산출물(Atmospheric Profile Product)중 기온 및 이슬점온도를 추출하여 산정식의 입력자료로서 사용하였다. 상승 장파복사량의 경우 MODIS 11 지표면 온도 산출물(Land Surface Temperature product)를 이용하여 산정하였다. 이는 남한 지역의 증발산량 추정 및 에너지 수지 연구를 위한 중요한 기본 자료로서 유용하게 사용될 수 있으리라 사료된다.

  • In this paper, H-polarized scattering problems by a resistive strip grating with zero resistivity at strip-edges over a grounded dielectric plane according to the strip width and grating period, the relative permittivity and thickness of a dielectric layer, and incident angles of a transverse electric (TE) plane wave are analyzed by applying the Fourier-Galerkin Moment Method (FGMM). The tapered resistivity of resistive strips has zero resistivity at strip edges, then the induced surface current density on the resistive strip is expanded in a series of Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind as a orthogonal ploynomials. The sharp variations of the reflected power are due to resonance effects were previously called wood's anomallies, the numerical results for the reflected power are compared with those of uniform resistivity in the existing papers.

  • A coupled analysis was performed between the riser to develop oil and gas in ultra-deepwater and the moored floating body. In general, the safety of the riser is conservatively evaluated by considering the maximum offset excluding the coupled analysis with the floating body. In this study, the safety of the riser was analyzed by considering the coupled motion analysis of the moored floating body. The riser is considered steel lazy wave riser (SLWR) applied in the deep sea, and the floating body is determined to FPSO. The methodology was presented on coupled and uncoupled analysis. The coupled effects were analyzed according to the incident wave headings in intact and damaged conditions of mooring lines. The tension of mooring lines, the motion of the floating body, and riser responses were analyzed according to the loading conditions.

  • This paper is a study of the propagation characteristic of matching liquids in the skin-covered breast model. In order to evaluate the matching liquids, we investigated six kinds of matching liquids applied to proposed 1-D breast model from frequency range of 3~6 GHz. A uniform plane wave is projected / transmitted inside the multi-layered breast model. Then the propagation characteristics inside the model and the transmission loss of each matching liquids were analyzed. The studying method presented in the paper can be used in the breast cancer detection system, the field of cancer detection using human tissue and the field of other medical devices. This paper was applied to the breast cancer detection system. Consequently, these studies could be used to determine the suitable type of matching liquids for breast cancer detection system and to apply useful for performance analysis.

  • Beam-forming method based on the estimated channel information at the base station degrade the performance mismatching directional vector in case of systems which Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) center frequency of uplink and downlink are different. Also blind estimation technique which is to obtain directional vector of reverse link through received signal has disadvantage of hardware complexity increase. To solve these problems, in present paper, a smart antenna algorithm which is to improve the beam-forming complexity increase due to user number by appling the spatial fourier transform to be able to beam- forming toward a wanted direction through adjusting a obtained uplink weight function by estimating Angle-of-Arrival (AoA) to the competable form at the downlink is proposed. The proposed algorithm is integrated to the CDMA downlink transmitter and simulations are performed to confirm the performance as frame error rate at the receiver. As a result, the beam forming effect is confirmed and the performance gain with the proposed algorithm is comparable to ordinary smart antenna system.

  • A magnetic composite as noise absorber of quasi-microwave band was developed. The Fe-Si-Al alloy powder were forged by attrition mill to get flaky shape. The magnetic composite sheet was fabricated in which powders are dispersed in polymer and aligned in the direction perpendicular to electromagnetic wave propagation. The permittivity of magnetic composite is increased as forging time increasing, while the permeability is decreased slightly. The maximum attenuation peak of reflection loss is shifted to lower fiequency range as milling time increasing, and the value of maximum attenuation peak is to get smaller gradually. From these result, we could designed a noise absorber sheet (t=1.0 mm) for quasi-microwave band, which is impedance matched at 1.4 GHz with respect to -8.2 dB reflection 1055.

A Study on the RF and Microwave Circuit Analysis in the SPICE (SPICE에서의 RF와 Microwave회로 해석에 관한 연구)

  • The SPICE circuit analysis program has a limited math capability and, in general, cannot be used for RF and microwave simulation because a complex arithmetic is required to compute S-parameters from node voltages. This paper presents two test bench models that can be used to obtain node voltages proportional to incident, reflected, and transmitted signals. From SPICE computed node voltages, S-parameters are computed using the math capability of the PSPICE post processor, PROBE, as an example for a low-pass filter consisting of transmission line sections. The results of this example are compared with another high frequency circuit analysis program, TOUCHSTONE. The difference between the results of these two programs in magnitude was less than 0.003 and in phase was a few tenths of a degree. By using these test benchs to simulate a filter, RF and microwave analysis can be made with the SPICE, which can be a cost-effective and readily available computational tool for educators and practicing engineers.
