The purpose of this research was to investigate the anti-inflammatory effects of Yongdamsagantanghaphwangryunhaedogkagam(YSHHK) which has been medicated the patient such as breast cellulitis. YSHHK did not show any cytotoxic effect on mouse lung fibroblast cells at any of the concentrations evaluated(200, 100, 50, 10, 1 ${\mu}g/m{\ell}$). YSHHK in RAW264.7 cell inhibited $IL-1{\beta}$, IL-6, $TNF-{\alpha}$, COX-2 and NOS-II mRNA genes expression in a concentration-dependent manner. YSHHK inhibited NO production significantly at the concentration of 100, 50 ${\mu}g/m{\ell}$ and ROS production in a concentration-dependent manner. YSHHK inhibited $IL-1{\beta}$, IL-6 and $TNF-{\alpha}$ production significantly in serum of mice with LPS-induced acute inflammation. YSHHK increased survival rate of mice with LPS-induced lethal endotoxemia, compared to the control group, from the 3rd day onward. These results suggest that Yongdamsagantanghaphwangryunhaedogkagam(YSHHK) can be useful in treating mammary diseases caused by inflammation such as breast cellulitis.
The purpose of this research was to investigate the anti-inflammatory effects of Kamibokwontonggi-san(KBTS) which has been medicated the patient such as mastitis, mammary tuberculosis. KBTS in RAW264.7 cell inhibited IL-1 ${\beta}$, IL-6, TNF-${\alpha}$, COX-2 and NOS-II mRNA genes expression in a concentration-dependent manner. KBTS inhibited NO production significantly at 100, 50 ${\mu}g/m{\ell}$ and ROS production in a concentration-dependent manner. KBTS inhibited IL-1${\beta}$, IL-6 and TNF-${\alpha}$ production significantly in serum of acute anti-inflammation-induced mice and the survival rate at the 3rd day on LPS-induced lethal endotoxemia. These results suggest that Kamibokwonntonggi-san (KBTS) can be useful in treating a lot of women diseases caused by inflammation such as mastitis, mammary tuberculosis, pelvic inflammatory disease and pelvic tuberculosis.
Objectives: This study was performed to elucidate the effects of Danchisoyo-san (DS) on cell damage and gene expression in UVB-exposed dermal fibroblast. Methods: To demonstrate the inhibitory effects of DS on aging of the skin, we used human dermal fibroblast(F6) and UVB light(30 mJ/$cm^2$) was used to damage to dermal fibroblast. We measured the nitrite production, LDH release, and gene expression in UVB-irradiated dermal fibroblast to elucidate the actionmechanism of DS. Also, we evaluated the amount of increased PICP, TIMP-1 in dermal fibroblast. PICP, TIMP-1 concentration was measured using EIA kit, and gene expression (MMP-1, procollagen, c-fos, c-jun, NF-kB, Bcl-2, Bcl-xL, iNOS) were determined using real-time PCR. Results: 1. DS inhibited LDH-release, nitrite production in UVB-irradiated dermal fibroblast. 2. DS suppressed the gene expression of MMP-1 in UVB-irradiated dermal fibroblast. 3. DS increased the gene expression of procollagen in UVB-iradiated dermal fibroblast. 4. DS suppressed the gene expression of c-jun, c-fos, NF-kB, iNOS in UVBirradiated dermal fibroblast. 5. DS increased the gene expression of Bcl-2 in UVB-iradiated dermal fibroblast. 6. DS increased the cell proliferation of dermal fibroblast. Conclusions: From the results, we concluded DS increases the cell proliferation and collagen synthesis in dermal fibroblast. So we suggest that DS has the antiwrinkle effects.
Objectives: This study was performed to elucidate the effects of Kwibi-tang extract(KB) on dermal fibroblast. Methods: To demonstrate the effects of KB on dermal fibroblast, we used human dermal fibroblast(F6) and UVB light(30 $mJ/cm^2$) was used to damage to dermal fibroblast. we measured the nitrite production, LDH release in UVB-irradiated dermal fibroblast to elucidate the action-mechanism of KB. Also, we evaluated cell proliferation of dermal fibroblast and the amount of increased PICP, TIMP-1 in dermal fibroblast. Results: 1. KB decreased the cell proliferation of F6 dermal fibroblast in concentration of 50 ${\mu}g/ml$. 2. KB decreased the synthesis of PICP in concentration of 50 ${\mu}g/ml$. 3. KB decreased the synthesis of TIMP-1 in concentration of 50 ${\mu}g/ml$. 4. KB have no effect on the damage in UVB-irradiated F6 dermal fibroblast. Conclusions: From the results, we concluded KB decreases the cell proliferation and collagen synthesis in dermal fibroblast. So we suggest that KB has the anti-hyperplasy of dermal fibroblast.
The purpose of present study was to evaluate the effect of endurance exercise training on skeletal muscle free amino acid concentrations, and differences in free amino acid concentration between soleus muscle which consists of mostly slow twitch oxidative fiber and extensor digitorum longus muscle which consists of fast twitch oxidative glycolytic fiber. Sixteen male SD rats (4 weeks old) were randomly devided into two groups, and fed a purified AIN-93M diet with or without aerobic exercise training according to the protocol (running on the treadmill at 25 m/min for 60 min, 5 days a week) for 6 weeks. Exercise-training for 6 weeks significanly reduced the commulative body weight gain (p<0.05) and food efficiency ratio (p<0.01) of rats. The result showing mitochondrial citrate synthase activity of soleus muscle was significantly higher in exercise-trained rats compared to the value for control animals (p<0.01) indicates aerobic exercise-training was successfully accomplished in the trained group. No difference was found in the muscle aminogram pattern between soleus muscle and extensor digitorum longus muscle of control animals. However, free amino acid concentrations of soleus muscle were from 1.2 to 3.9 times of those found in extensor digitorum longus muscle of control rats, depending on an individual amino acid. Intermediate level of endurance exercise training for 6 weeks did not influence concentrations of most of free amino acid in soleus muscle of rats collected at an overnight fasted and rested state. In contrast, isolucine and leucine concentrations in extensor digitorum longus muscle of exercise-trained rats were significantly lower than those for control animals. These results indicate that aerobic energy metabolism had not been efficiently conducted, and thereby the utilization of BCAA for energy substrate was enhanced in fast twitch oxidative glycolytic fibers of extensor digitorum longus muscle of rats followed exercise-training protocol for 6 weeks.

More clinical data and studies are requested for the treatment of chronic relapsing cystitis.
The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for habitat restoration by implementing a series of processes of capturing and translocating Kaloula borealis and managing them in artificial breeding facilities. The study site in Samcheon, Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do was a waste landfill site in the past, and Kaloula borealis was found during the Samcheon Ecological River Restoration Project around March 2018. To restore the habitat, a plan was established to capture, translocate, artificially breed, and release Kaloula borealis at the site. The capture methods of adult Kaloula borealis were pitfall trap and drift fence, direct capture, and deep barrels. During 2018-2019, 86 adults of Kaloula borealis were captured and translocated to artificial breeding facilities. VIE-tagging was inserted under the skin for monitoring. For artificial breeding, Gryllus bimaculatus with oyster powder and vegetables were regularly supplied to feed Kaloula borealis. At the end of October 2020, 150 young Kaloula borealis raised in artificial breeding facilities were found not entering hibernation, so they were managed in a separate artificial breeding facility. Some young and adult Kaloula borealis currently hibernating will be scheduled to be continuously managed in artificial breeding facilities and released to the restored habitat in the spring of 2021.
A $2{\times}4$ factorial feeding trial was conducted to examine the effect of feed type and feeding frequency on the performance of sub-adult starry flounder Platichthys stellatus. Two feed types, sinking pellets (SP) and floating pellets (FP), were given to 480 fish housed in tanks. Triplicate groups of fish were fed each feed type at one of four feeding frequencies (one meal every two days, one meal per day, two meals per day, and three meals per day) for nine weeks. Weight gain (WG) and specific growth rate (SGR) of fish were affected by feeding frequency. However, WG and SGR were the same in fish fed SP at two and three meals per day; similarly, there was no difference in WG or SGR of fish fed FP at one meal, two meals, or three meals per day. Feed utilization of fish was affected by both feed type and feeding frequency. These findings suggest that two meals per day of the SP or one meal per day of FP are sufficient for optimum growth performance of sub-adult starry flounder.
