  • This study is a one-group pre-post experimental design that investigates the effects of a practice-based learning program with multiple components on the clinical competence of nursing students, and clinical decision-making. From May 4 to 29, 2020, a total of 60 third-year nursing students with no clinical practice experience were divided into two teams and participated in multi-component practice-based education for two weeks each, and the data of the final 51 students were included in the analysis. Following the practicum, there was a significant increase in clinical competence (t=-4.74, p<.001) and self-confidence in clinical decision-making (t=-8.41, p<.001), and a decrease in anxiety related to clinical decision-making (t=2.54, p=.014). The findings suggest that a multi-component, practice-based learning approach for nursing students can enhance their clinical competence, reduce preclincal anxiety and increase confidence in clinical decision-making in patient care.

Using SPSS, t-test and ANCOVA were analyzed to compare the anxiety and self-confidence between the experimental and control groups. As a result of the study, the anxiety score on psychiatric-mental health nursing clinical practice of the experimental group significantly decreased, compared to that of the control group, but the self-confidence score for the performance of psychiatric nursing care showed no significant differences between the groups. Accordingly the simulation education can be an effective educational method to reduce anxiety about psychiatric-mental health nursing clinical practice for nursing students.

  • Simulation practice training is used in nursing education as an education method to improve the adaptability to the clinical field, but responds to unpredictable situations and negatively affects practice satisfaction. This study applied a team-based learning utilizing a pre-briefing inequality controls ago to investigate the effect of self-efficacy, simulation practice satisfaction and clinical performance of the nursing college in the simulation based nursing education and after quasi-experimental study. Data collection in the fourth grade and P University Nursing 72 peoples, the study period is from November 15 from October 14, 2019. As a result, the experimental group that applied team-based learning using pre-briefing showed higher self-efficacy, simulation practice satisfaction, and clinical performance than the control group. Therefore, applying team-based learning to the pre-briefing process can be an important learning strategy for simulation practice training, and suggests a follow-up study to confirm the effectiveness by standardizing the pre-briefing step later.

  • This study was conducted to provide the basis for psychological management direction of students ahead of their first field practice by grasping the degree of anxiety and confirming the relationship between departments satisfaction and practice expectations. A survey was conducted on dental hygiene students ahead of their first field practice and 135 people were selected as final analysis subjects. Data analysis investigated general characteristics, department satisfaction, field practice expectation and pre-education satisfaction and statistical analysis was conducted through mean(±SD), one-way ANOVA, and multiple linear regression analysis method. As a result, the anxiety level was high in the lower group of performance in the previous semester, and the department satisfaction and pre-education satisfaction were high in the group with low anxiety level. As a result of the correlation analysis, it was found that department satisfaction, field practice expectation, pre-education satisfaction, and anxiety were negatively correlated, and the higher the practice expectation, the lower the anxiety. Therefore, in order to lower the level of anxiety before field practice, it is necessary to come up with measures to increase interventional pre-education, department satisfaction and field practice expectation.

Reeducation of core basic nursing skills was conducted from December 20th to 23rd, 2016. Data were analyzed by SPSS 21.0 program. As the result of reeducation, significant improvement was found in competence(t=-11.57, p<.001), confidence(t=-10.21, p<.001) and considerable decrease was recognized in anxiety(t=-4.76, p<.001). In conclusion, reeducation of core basic nursing skills can help students to improve their overall competence and confidence, and also to reduce their anxieties as they start their first clinical practice. Therefore we suggest that more systematic and continual reeducation of core basic nursing skills should be applied to each grade of nursing students who are facing their clinical practice in hospital
