  • The United States is having a technique from Embedded SW fields of the best in the world, followed by Europe, Japan and Korea. Specially, Korea and Europe technical power is highly estimated and is before Japan from intelligent SW fields. The technical level of Korea compares with advanced countries and it is equal or excellent in application and part field in service SW. In the paper we look at the Embedded SW technical trends and technical level and difference of domestic and foreign among the counties. And we devise a stratagem for the promotion strategy of embedded SW industry.

  • The development process of Embedded Software (SW) is gathering interest due to the increased importance of SW in mobile products. According to tough competition and the growing size of the Embedded SW, there is a demand for a new effective way to improve the SW development process, based on customer and market quality aspects, rather than focusing on defect removals in individual SW modules. We review 103 SW improvement projects from the area of mobile phones in order to check the effectiveness of Six Sigma which is the standard for the process improvement statistical tools and methods.

  • 스크래치박스를 이용한 임베디드 응용 소프트웨어 통합개발환경은 응용 프로그램 개발자들에게 타겟종류에 관계없이 일관된 개발 환경을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 응용 프로그램 개발자들은 개발하고자하는 응용 프로그램의 실행환경(타겟)에 따라 개발 및 실행 환경 구축에 많은 시간을 소비한다. 따라서 이러한 개발 및 실행 환경 구축을 용이하게 해주는 통합개발환경을 응용 프로그램 개발자들에게 제공함으로써 응용 프로그램 개발 기간을 단축시킬 수 있다. 또한 다양한 실행 환경을 제공함으로써 응용 프로그램 개발자들이 자신이 개발한 응용 프로그램을 적절히 테스트 해 볼 수도 있다.

  • 최근 해양분야는 e-Navigation 전략 시행을 앞두고 새로운 장비 및 시스템이 개발되고 있으며 이러한 장비 및 시스템은 소프트웨어의 의존도가 높다. 이에 따라 소프트웨어 품질에 관한 연구가 활발하게 진행중이다. 중소조선연구원에서는 이에 대한 대응으로 해양 임베디드 소프트웨어의 시험절차를 개발하고 있다. 해양 임베디드 응용 소프트웨어 시험절차는 시험절차 뿐만 아니라 절차수행에 필요한 산출물 정보를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 해양 임베디드 응용 소프트웨어 시험절차와 시험절차 적용사례를 소개한다.

  • A wearable computer has appeared as the next generation computer with the development of embedded system technique in our country, although it has not been applicable well since the hardware and software capabilities are limited for multimedia service. We have implemented a MPEG-4 video player to provide with such multimedia application service using the embedded systems. This paper illustrates the development of MPEG-4 video player operating on the wearable computer named WPS(Wearable Personal Station), the wristwatch PC developed at ETRI.

  • IMO(International Maritime Organization)에서는 2019년부터 e-Navigation 전략을 이행하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. e-Navigation 전략 이행에 따라 해양 분야에서도 소프트웨어의 사용도와 품질의 중요성이 높아질 것으로 예상된다. 중소조선연구원에서는 이에 대한 대응으로 해양 임베디드 소프트웨어 사용성 평가 시험절차를 개발중이다. 본 논문에서는 해양 임베디드 응용 소프트웨어 사용성 평가 시험절차와 산출물 사례에 대해 기술한다.

  • 2015년 6월 MSC 95차 위원회에서 e-navigation 소프트웨어 품질 보증 가이드라인이 회람문서로 정식 등재되었다. 이 가이드라인은 소프트웨어 개발 라이프사이클에 따라 소프트웨어를 개발하며 필요한 품질 보증 절차 활동과 사용자의 요구를 만족시킬 수 있는 제품의 개발을 위한 인간중심설계 절차를 제시한다. 본 논문에서는 e-navigation 소프트웨어 품질보증 가이드라인을 심층분석하여 해양 임베디드 응용 소프트웨어 품질보증을 위한 사용성평가 시험절차 개발에 필요한 연관된 국제표준 및 기존 연구를 조사 분석 후 연구하였다.

  • IT related services are available in the shipborne and maritime area. As their service requirements are requested diversely, the safe and reliable embedded system based device needs increase. There are two categories in embedded system : communication/control system and various user interface needed service system. In this paper, we propose the classification of embedded system in the shipborne and maritime area and provide two reference embedded system platforms and their components. One is low-level embedded reference platform of communication/control system and the other is high-level embedded reference platform of user interface oriented system.

  • Rapid increase of embedded systems in electronic and mechanical control systems requires reliable and error-free embedded software. State-based testing methods like FSM are usually used to assure the reliability of embedded software. However, because of possibility of explosion of test cases, only partial test cases are considered in practical tests, which cannot guarantee that all the possible errors are investigated. This study proposes a test procedure based on failure mechanisms that may occur in embedded systems, which can not only assure that certain kinds of possible errors are detected but reduce the testing time. The proposed procedure is applied to vehicle air control system.

  • As the complexity of SoC (System-on-Chip) design increases dramatically. traditional system performance analysis and verification methods based on RTL (Register Transfer Level) are no more valid for increasing time-to-market pressure. Therefore a new design methodology is desperately required for system verification in early design stages. and hardware software (HW-SW) cosimulation at TLM (Transaction Level Modeling) level has been researched widely for solving this problem. However, most of HW-SW cosimulators support few restricted ion levels only, which makes it difficult to integrate HW-SW cosimulators with different ion levels. To overcome this difficulty, this paper proposes a multipurpose framework for HW SW cosimulation to provide systematic SoC design flow starting from software application design. It supports various design techniques flexibly for each design step, and various HW-SW cosimulators. Since a platform design is possible independently of ion levels and description languages, it allows us to generate simulation models with various ion levels. We verified the proposed framework to model a commercial SoC platform based on an ARM9 processor. It was also proved that this framework could be used for the performance optimization of an MJPEG example up to 44% successfully.
