Forced Vibration Modeling of Rail Considering Shear Deformation and Moving Magnetic Load (전단변형과 시간변화 이동자기력을 고려한 레일의 강제진동모델링)

  • A forced vibration model of a rail system was established using the Timoshenko beam theory to determine the dynamic response of a rail under time-varying load considering the damping effect and stiffness of the elastic foundation. By using a Fourier series and a numerical method, the critical velocity and dynamic response of the rail were obtained. The forced vibration model was verified by using FEM and Euler beam theory. The permanent deformation of the rail was predicted based on the forced vibration model. The permanent deformation and wear were observed through the experiment. Parametric studies were then conducted to investigate the effect of five design factors, i.e., rail cross-section shape, rail material density, rail material stiffness, containment stiffness, and damping coefficient between rail and containment, on four performance indices of the rail, i.e., critical velocity, maximum deflection, maximum longitudinal stress, and maximum shear stress.

Investigation on Support Mechanism of Geogrid-Encased Stone Columns in Soft Ground (연약지반에 시공되는 지오그리드 감쌈 스톤컬럼의 하중 지지 메카니즘에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the results of numerical investigation on support mechanism of geogrid-encased stone columns for use in soft ground improvement. A number of cases were analyzed using a 3D stress-pore pressure coupled model that can effectively model construction sequence and drainage as well as reinforcing effects of geogrid-encased stone columns. The results indicated that the geogrid encasement provides additional confinement effect that reduces vertical stress in the soft ground, thus resulting in less excess pore water pressures and associated settlement. Also revealed was that such a confinement effect depends on encasement length and stiffness of geogrid. It is also shown that there exist critical encasement length and stiffness of geogrid for a given condition.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate free vibrations and critical loads of the Beck's columns with a tip spring, which carry a tip mass. The ordinary differential equation governing free vibrations of Beck's column subjected to a follower force is derived based on the Bernoulli-Euler beam theory Both the divergence and flutter critical loads are calculated from the load-frequency corves that are obtained by solving the differential equation numerically. The critical loads are presented in the figures as functions of various non-dimensional system parameters such as the subtangential parameter, mass ratio and spring parameter.

  • 본 연구는 온도 증가에 따른 압축을 받는 H형 강재의 플랜지와 웨브의 국부 및 전체좌굴응력 내화해석 프로그램 개발과 플랜지와 웨브가 항복파괴전에 국부좌굴이 일어나지 않을 한계 판폭두께비의 상관값을 구하는 프로그램을 개발하는 것이다. 고온에서의 강재의 응력-변형도 관계식은 EC3:Part 1.2를 근거로 하였으며, 비교, 검토를 위하여 영국 BS5950의 강재를 대상으로 온도 증가에 따른 압축을 받는 강재의 플랜지와 웨브의 파괴온도와 하중을 본 연구의 내화해석 프로그램으로 예측하였다. 본 연구는 좌굴 및 항복에 대한 내화해석 프로그램을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하고 적용 예를 통하여 좌굴 및 한계 판폭두께비를 분석하고 개발 프로그램의 타당성을 검토하였다.

The Dynamic Analysis for Compound Planetary Gear of Continuously Variable Transmission (무단 변속용 복합 유성기어의 동적 해석)

  • In this study a compound planetary gear combined with three planet gears, which is used for continuously variable transmission, is modeled that consider variable nonlinear gear mesh stiffness and damping when gear rotates, and thus equation of motion of compound planetary gear is derived. Locus of sun gear center causing noise and vibration is being determined from performing derived state equation with numerical analysis in fourth order Runge-Kutta method.

  • As needs for substitution of excessive road-oriented transport by the railroad increase, we proposed the guideline for development of the high speed freight car up to 150km/h through analyzing the critical speed of welded-type freight car employed and investigating the improvement in its maintenance. This study, the proper design parameters of conical rubber spring was determined to meet the vibration performance.

  • 석탄화력발전소의 효율향상은 스팀온도 및 압력의 증가를 통해 꾸준하게 이루어지고 있으며, 이러한 고효율의 화력발전은 사용 연료의 감소 뿐 아니라 $SO_x$, $NO_x$, $CO_2$ 등의 환경 가스배출을 감소시키는 효과도 있다. 이에 따라 운전조건을 고온, 고압화하려는 노력이 전 세계적으로 꾸준히 전개되고 있으며, 경제성 있고 높은 고온특성을 갖는 터빈 및 보일러 소재확보 여부가 발전소 건설 가능성을 결정하는 가장 주요한 요소 중 하나로 작용하고 있다. 본 고에서는 USC(Ultra Super Critical) 조건에 사용하기 위한 소재의 개발과정과 현대 사용되고 있는 다양한 발전용 고온소재의 특징에 대해 기술하고자 한다.

Nanoindentation behaviours of silver film/copper substrate (Ag 필름/ Cu기판의 나노인덴테이션 거동 해석)

  • Nanoindentation behaviours on the films of softer Ag film/harder Cu substrate structure were studied by the molecular dynamics method. As a result, it was shown that the stiffness and hardness of films were strongly dependent on the thickness of films. The stiffness and hardness increased with the thickness of film within a critical range as an inverse Hall-Petch relation. The stiffness and hardness of Cu substrate with Ag film less than 5 nm were observed to be lower than those of bulk silver. In particular, the flower-like dislocation loop was created on the interface by the interaction between dislocation pile-up and misfit dislocation during the indentation of Ag film/Cu substrate with film thickness less than 4 nm, which seemed to be associated with the drop of load in the indentation load versus displacement curve.

Evaluation of Running Performance of the Composite Bogie under Different Side Beam Stiffness (사이드 빔 강성에 따른 복합소재 대차의 주행성능 평가)

  • In this study, a running performance evaluation and roller rig test was conducted to evaluate the applicability of a composite bogie frame, which has the role of the primary suspension. The composite bogie frame was made of a GEP224 glass/epoxy prepreg. Vehicle dynamic analysis was carried out on the composite bogie with three different kinds of side beam thicknesses (50 mm, 80 mm, and 150 mm). From the results, the composite bogie with a side beam thickness of 80 mm satisfied all the dynamic design requirements. Although the composite bogie with the side beam thickness of 50mm also met the design requirements, its critical speed was just a 2% margin to the requirement. In contrast, the model of the side beam thickness of 150mm did not meet the ride comfort. In addition, a composite bogie frame with the side beam thickness of 80 mm was fabricated and installed on a complete bogie. Moreover, the roller rig test using the fully equipped bogie was performed to evaluate the critical speed. During the test, the lateral excitation was imposed on the wheelsets to realize the rail irregularity. There was no divergence of the lateral displacement of the wheelsets while increasing the speed. The measured critical speed was similar to the predicted result.

A Study on Dynamic Analysis Model and Stability of Stone Cultural Properties of Inverted Pendulum Type with 5 Joints (5개의 연결부를 가지는 역진자형 석조문화재의 동적 해석모델 및 안정성 연구)

  • Architectural cultural properties suffer a lot of damage due to various environmental factors. In order to preserve damaged cultural properties, preventive preservation and long-term preservation management are becoming more important. Therefore, research on a scientific non-destructive testing method applicable to regular inspection is required. For related research, DangGan with a high flag-pole shape was selected as the subject of study among various cultural properties. Among the preserved DangGans, a basic study was conducted on the analysis technique to evaluate the structural stability by selecting Treasure No. 49 Naju SeokDangGan. An idealized model was presented and a multi-degree of freedom equation of motion was derived. In addition, an equation for estimating the critical stiffness value for each joint position is presented.
