Results : A significant effect was confirmed (p<.05) from the CBCRT which visual perception function. By each entry comparative result, visual memory, figure ground, visual close, spatial relation, visual discrimination, were the order of treatment. Neither was found any significant effect in improving process skills from AMPS. Conclusion : These results indicate that CoTras have effects on improving visual perception and ADL performance in stroke patients. • This study investigated the relationship among pain, depression and activities of daily living in nursing home residents. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire survey of residents at 4 nursing homes in S city. The measures were the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and Discomfort Scale-Dementia of the Alzheimer Type (DS-DAT) for self-reported and observational pain, Geriatric Depression Scale Short Form-Korea Version (GDSSF-K) for depression, Barthel Activities of Daily Living (BADL) scale for ADL. The data were analyzed using the Pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchical multiple regression using the SPSS/PC 20.0 program. The analysis results of the relationship of pain, depression and activities of daily living, both DS-DAT and NRS showed a significant negative correlation with the activities of daily living and a positive correlation with depression. Finally, gender, arthritis, depression, and activities of daily living explained 28.1% of the variance in pain using NRS, whereas depression and activities of daily living explained 21.5% of the variance in pain using DS-DAT. The results highlight the need to develop a pain management program that reduces the depression and promotes the activities of daily living in nursing home residents; hence, a differentiated approach as non-pharmacological interventions is required.

  • Falling is one of the problems that threatens the health of elderly patients. This study was conducted once a week for 12 weeks, from 15th of April to 13th of June in 2016, and included 118 subjects above the age of 65 in 6 centers of J city. We evaluated the effectiveness of the fall prevention exercise program (FPEP) and analyzed its effects by making a comparison between before and after the exercise that pertains to activities of daily living, fear of falling, and quality of life. Moreover, this study confirms that there is a relationship between these three factors. The results of this study are as follows: There were statistically significant differences of activities of daily living (F=-4.75, p<..001), fear of falling (F=10.22, p<..001) and quality of life (F=-11.58, p<..001) between post-test improvements and pre-test conditions. In addition, this study confirms that there is a relationship between activities of daily living, fear of falling, and quality of life (r=.551, p<..001, r=-.477, p<..001, r=-.584, p<..001). Accordingly, we have identified that FPEP is very effective for improving activities of daily living, fear of falling, and quality of life for senior citizens.

The data were collected by a questionnaire from 229 nurses in a RN-BSN course of an open university from October to November, 2013. The mean score of facing task dimension was much higher than the interpersonal dimension score among daily hassles. The academic problem of the facing task and the family relationship of the interpersonal were the highest respectively. The mean score of self-efficacy was slightly higher than the median. Multiple regression showed that perceived health status, workload, occupation satisfaction, and values problem of daily hassles explained 44.2% of stress reponses and values problem was the main factor influencing stress responses. The distance education policies and strategies were required to manage their stress for the adult learners of distance education in digital convergence era.

  • This study developed a occupational therapy convergent activity program to provide dementia patients admitted to the daytime ward, and investigated the program's effect on the hand and cognitive functions and instrumental activities of daily living. A total of 34 dementia patients were divided into two groups: a convergent occupational therapy program and medication were provided for 17 patients, and medication alone was provided for a control group of 17. The intervention was performed for 24 weeks, 8 times per week, 192 times in total. A handgrip strength test was performed to examine hand function before and after the intervention, and the MMSE-K and GDS were performed to evaluate cognitive function. In addition, the K-IADL was used to assess instrumental activities of daily living. With intervention, the experimental group showed significant improvements in hand and cognitive function and instrumental activities of daily living. In contrast, the control group did not show improvements in hand and cognitive function or instrumental activities of daily living. In conclusion, the study showed that a convergent/integrated activity program for occupational therapy has a positive effect on hand and cognitive function as well as instrumental activities of daily living.
