Because people are gradually interested in bicycles, central and local governments provide many efforts for expanding bikeway plans and utilization. However, most domestic bicycle plans have been established for the urban and leisure. This research is focused on developing the evaluation method to give the priority order for the investment of rural community bicycle roads. For the methodology development, the planning hierarchy and indicator framework are proposed in this paper. In order to decide the weighting value for indicators, a questionnaire survey to transportation experts was conducted. Moreover, the coefficient for social and spatial equity was applied to consider the balance of regional development. The evaluation was applied to a pilot corridor comprised of a 160km section of national highway in korea. This methodology provides a new tool to decide priority order for the investment of bicycle facilities.

This paper proposes a model for a chainless power assistor system(PAS) that can provide the required power based upon operational status by designing a chainless electric bicycle that can be substituted for a general chain type bicycle and which is also an environmentally friendly means of transportation. This paper designed a fuzzy control algorithm that can intelligently examine operational status through the stopping force sensor of a chainless intelligently auxiliary power system it and also have the power of an auxiliary power system to be controlled by the vehicle's operational status. This paper designed an intelligent electric bicycle that provides auxiliary power to a general bicycle system relying only upon the stepping force of a human and systems to provide auxiliary power to the intelligent chainless bicycle model designing presented.

This study investigates structural and fatigue analyses of bike brake. Maximum equivalent stress of the model of mountain bike is 4 times as much as the model of general bike at static analysis. In cases of mountain and general bikes, maximum damage frequency at load of 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes as much as 16 times than the most stable load of 'Sample history' among the nonuniform fatigue loads. In case of mountain bike, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 3% at the load of 'Sample history' with the average stress of 0 to $-3{\times}10^4$MPa and the amplitude stress of 0 to $10^4$MPa. In case of general bike, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 3% at the load of 'Sample history' with the average stress of 0 to $-0.8{\times}10^4$MPa and the amplitude stress of 0 to $0.2{\times}10^4$MPa. This stress state can be shown as 5 to 6 times more than the damage possibility of 'SAE bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. The analysis result of this study can be effectively utilized for the safe design of bike brake.

Bicycle has a large amount of kinetic energy available for energy harvesting technology in its speedy and balanced riding movement. Systematic and realistic analysis of its dynamic property is essential to improve the efficiency of energy harvester. However, there has not been enough researches about precise measurement or analysis of bicycle dynamics on real roads. This study aims to investigate the characteristics of vibrational movement of bicycle using MEMS-based accelerometer and to develop a prototype of electromagnetic energy harvester with nonlinear behavior which is proper to the random vibrations accompanied in bicycle riding. The vibrational components have average magnitude of 1 g and turn out to be independent of riding speed. The developed prototype of energy harvester was installed on a front port of a bicycle to use this ambient vibration and generated an average electrical power of 1.5 mW which is enough to support power for most of portable sensors and short range radio-frequency communication. Further study about isolation of vibration from a rider and conversion efficiency is ongoing. The developed energy harvester is expected to be a platform technology for sustainable portable power supply for various smart IT devices and applications.
Mechanical properties of static and dynamic behavior became important since the use of conical composite tubes in large structures such as aerospace, planes, and submarines as well as leisure goods such as bicycle frames, fishing rods, and golf shafts. In the past, the mechanical property prediction model for static behavior was studied using vibration, bending, and buckling. But there is a need to study how fiber orientation error affects mechanical properties of conical composite structure because the model assumes constant fiber orientation angle. The purpose of this study is to derive an equation that can predict the static behavior of conical composite tube for bicycle frames by considering fiber orientation error with respect to various design parameters.

Modern people, who are fully enjoying convenience with improved technology, are pursuing health next to convenience. Accordingly, the smart healthcare industry is rapidly increasing, and various companies are launching healthcare system products with applied VR. However, existing products on the market are expensive or professional products. Therefore, there are parts that are difficult for the general public to use. In this paper, we propose smart health care contents that can experience virtual reality anytime and anywhere at an affordable price and take care of health through exercise using Arduino and general bicycles sold in the market.

The recommended meal composition allows the general people to organize meals using the number of intakes of foods from each of six food groups (grains, meat·fish·eggs·beans, vegetables, fruits, milk·dairy products and oils·sugars) to meet Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (KDRIs) without calculating complex nutritional values. Through an integrated analysis of data from the 6th to 7th Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (2013-2018), representative foods for each food group were selected, and the amounts of representative foods per person were derived based on energy. Based on the EER by age and gender from the KDRIs, a total of 12 kinds of diets were suggested by differentiating meal compositions by age (aged 1-2, 3-5, 6-11, 12-18, 19-64, 65-74 and ≥ 75 years) and gender. The 2020 Food Balance Wheel included the 6th food group of oils and sugars to raise public awareness and avoid confusion in the practical utilization of the model by industries or individuals in reducing the consistent increasing intakes of oils and sugars. To promote the everyday use of the Food Balance Wheel and recommended meal compositions among the general public, the poster of the Food Balance Wheel was created in five languages (Korean, English, Japanese, Vietnamese and Chinese) along with card news. A survey was conducted to provide a basis for categorizing nutritional problems by life cycles and developing customized web-based messages to the public. Based on survey results two types of card news were produced for the general public and youth. Additionally, the educational program was developed through a series of processes, such as prioritization of educational topics, setting educational goals for each stage, creation of a detailed educational system chart and teaching-learning plans for the development of educational materials and media.

As the population decreases in an aging society, the average age of drivers increases. Accordingly, the elderly at high risk of being in an accident need autonomous-driving vehicles. In order to secure driving safety on the road, several technologies to respond to various obstacles are required in those vehicles. Among them, technology is required to recognize static obstacles, such as poor road conditions, as well as dynamic obstacles, such as vehicles, bicycles, and people, that may be encountered while driving. In this study, we propose a deep neural network algorithm capable of simultaneously detecting these two types of obstacle. For this algorithm, we used 1,418 road images and produced annotation data that marks seven categories of dynamic obstacles and labels images to indicate road damage. As a result of training, dynamic obstacles were detected with an average accuracy of 46.22%, and road surface damage was detected with a mean intersection over union of 74.71%. In addition, the average elapsed time required to process a single image is 89ms, and this algorithm is suitable for personal mobility vehicles that are slower than ordinary vehicles. In the future, it is expected that driving safety with personal mobility vehicles will be improved by utilizing technology that detects road obstacles.
