Design of Bit Selectable and Bi-directional Interface Device using Interrupt Generator (인터럽트 발생기를 사용한 접속 비트 전환식 양방향 접속장치의 설계)

  • In this paper, Bit selectable and Bi-directional Interface Device is described, which can communicate data with the peripheral devices. Specially, an algorithm of truth-table comparison that synthesizes the pulse-type sequential circuit pulse has been proposed to design the Interrupt Generator, and implemented in designing the Interrupt Register. Also, a description of the asynchronous design method is given to remove the clock skew phenomenon, and the output asynchronous control method which finds the optimal clock and controls all the enable signal of the output pins at the same time is presented. Using this technique interface ports have delay time of less-than 0.7ns.

  • An idea is presented in this paper that control panel be implemented with a ${\mu}$-processor instead of interrupt based logic circuits. To prove that the idea is reasonable, a ${\mu}$-computer controlled traffic light control system is chosen as a model, and its control panel is imple-mented witll a f-processor. The result is that the microprocessor-based control panel performs its function very well.

  • A new application area in which wireless sensor networks are applied requires the performance of more elaborated and complicated task and the completion of those tasks within a time limit. Until now, it is, however, insufficient to do research on the mechanism of handling interrupt based on real-time sensor operating systems which carefully consider the limitation of resources of sensor nodes and the property of tasks which is executed in a wireless sensor network area. In this paper, the requirements satisfying real-time in sensor operating systems are analyzed and based on this, a system is designed and implemented. In addition, the proposed mechanisms are confirmed by several verification methods, and the efficiency of the performance and the satisfaction of those requirements for real-time are verified by simulation.

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 LAN의 MAC 계층 프로토콜을 고속으로 처리하는 MAC 기능 칩을 개발하였다. 개발된 MAC 칩은 CPU와의 인터페이스를 위한 제어 레지스터들과 인터럽트 체계를 가지고 있으며, 프레임 단위로 송수신 데이터를 처리한다. 또한 PFDM 방식 물리계층 모뎀을 위한 직렬전송 인터페이스를 가지고 있다. 개발된 MAC 칩은 크게 프로토콜제어기능 블록, 송신기능 블록 및 수신기능 블록 등으로 구성되었으며, IEEE 802.11 규격에 제시된 대부분의 DCF 기능을 지원한다. 구현된 MAC 칩의 동작을 검증하기 위해 RTS-CTS 절차 기능, IFS(Inter Frame Space) 기능, 액세스 절차, 백오프 절차, 재전송 기능, 분할된(fragmented) 프레임 송수신 기능, 중복수신 프레임 검출 기능, 가상 캐리어 검출기능(NAV 기능), 수신에러 발생 경우 처리 기능, Broadcast 프레임 송수신 기능, Beacon 프레임 송수신 기능, 송수신 FIFO 동작 기능 등을 시뮬레이션을 통해 시험하였으며, 시험 결과 모두 정상적으로 동작함을 확인하였다. 본 논문을 통해 개발된 MAC 기능 칩을 이용할 경우 고속 무선 LAN 시스템의 CPU 부하(load)와 펌웨어의 크기를 크게 줄일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • An automatic welding system was constructed with a personal computer to capture the welding data in addition to vision seam tracking for the gas metal arc welding process. The monitoring of welding signals is composed of the acquisition of welding voltage and current, obtained by using two differential amplifiers and A/D converters, and processing of the measured data. Using interrupt handing circuit for time sharing, two jobs of seam tracking and monitoring were performed at the required sampling time. Relations between welding signals and various welding circumstances were analyzed from the experimental results.

  • 저전력 시스템에 대한 연구는 회로 수준에서부터 응용 소프트웨어 수준에 이르기까지 다양한 각도에서 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서 는 특히 운영 체제 수준, 즉 $\mu$C/OS-II(MicroC/OS-II) 커널 코드의 다양한 함수들에 대한 에너지 소비값을 추출하며 이 결과를 바탕으로 운영체재의 각 모듈별 에너지 소비를 분석한다. 이를 위하여 ARM7TDMI 마이크로 콘트롤러를 이용하여 제작된 시스템에 $\mu$C/OS-IIl 운영체제를 이식하고 SES(SNU Energy Scanner)툴을 이용하여 수행된 운영체제 코드의 각 모듈 즉 태스크 관리, 인터럽트 처리, IPC등에 대한 에너지 소비를 얻고 이 결과를 분석한다.

  • In this paper, the types of the data exchange between a cell site and a cobile phonefor the call processing on the AMPS(Advanced Mobile Phone Service) are investigated, and the circuit for processing the wideband data stream according to the data types is designed and implemented. The circuit for detecting the Busy / Idle bit which is needed for determining the channel access, the circuit for detecting the word sync and the circuit for transmitting and receiving the wideband data is designed. The 3-out-of-5 majority vote of the 5received data is performed to reduce error and an algorithm requiring a small buffer size for real time processing of voting process is proposed. The method to overcome the computational complexity and the real time constraint of the conventional BCH decoding is proposed.

  • In a client-server model, network server systems suffer from both heavy communication and computational loads. While communication channels become increasingly speedy, the existing protocol stack architectures still include mainly three performance bottlenecks of protocol stack processing, system call, and network interrupt overheads. To address these obstacles, in this paper we present a host-independent network system where a network interface card (NIC) is utilized in an efficient manner. First, by offloading network-related portion to the NIC, the host can fully utilize its processing power for other useful purposes. Second, it eliminates the system call overhead, such as context-switching and memory copy operations, since the host communicates with the NIC through its user-level libraries. Third, it a] so reduces the network interrupt operation count as the host handles the interrupt in a segment instead of a packet. The experimental results show that the proposed network system reduces the host CPU overhead for communication system by 68-71%. It also shows that the proposed system improves the communication speed by 11-83% under heavy computational and communication load conditions.

  • In this paper, we propose a Micro Real-Time Control System (MRTCS) for decreasing the delay during interrupts processing and data transfer on sensor nodes. The MRTCS consists of a control, sensor nodes based on Controller Area Network (CAN) device. The control node was designed with Real Time Operating System (RTOS) on top of the small Micro Control Unit (sMCU). Sensor nodes have the CAN device without sMCU, which have multiple Digital Inputs, Outputs (DI/DO) and the CAN controller. We have evaluated with OCTAVE v3.6.4 from open source for system performance. Simulation results show that the system performance was increased through the delay reducing for interrupt processing and internal data transfer. We verify that a proposed MRTCS approach will be adapted to various real-time control system.

Development of Standing and Moving Human Body Sensing Module Using a Chopper of Shutter Method (셔터방식의 쵸퍼를 이용한 정지 및 이동인체 감지 모듈 개발)

  • Sensing module of standing and moving human body using shutter method was developed. The module consists of Fresnel lens, pyroelectric infrared (PIR) sensor, interface circuit of the PIR, micro control unit(MCU), and alarm light emitting diode(LED). The principle for standing human body is chopping the thermal of human body using camera shutter. The human sensing signal in MCU by algorithm of interrupt function is detected. By unifying an apparatus and print circuit board(PCB), the developed module can be replaced as commercial moving human body detector. Experiment results show that sensing distance is about 7.0m and sensing angles is about $110^{\circ}$ at room temperature. In these condition, sending ratio was 100% and the power dissipation of the module was 100mW.
