A Study on the Nail Art Design Applying Point, Line, and Plane as Forming Elements (조형요소인 점, 선, 면을 적용한 네일아트 디자인 연구)

  • This study aims to help the creative idea of nail art design and the expansion of artistic realm by presenting nail art applied with dot, line, and plane, which are the basic elements of the sculpture that make up the space for visual expression of nail art. The research method considered the concepts and characteristics of the molding elements through professional books, prior research, and Internet website. Along with various expression techniques, the characteristics of dot, line, and plane were applied to nail art and expressed as visual messages, and a total of six works were produced according to each characteristic. This research aims to find a new perspective on nail art expression by reinterpreting the characteristics of dot, line, and plane, which are formative elements, in an artistic approach, and to contribute to enhancing the infinite possibilities of nail art design by utilizing them.

  • 21세기의 초고속 인터넷망의 발달로 인하여 초기 용량이 적은 텍스트기반의 넷아트에서 이제는 움직이고 반응하는 상호작용이 있는 작품들이 많이 선보이게 되었다. 비주얼적인 면에서도 많은 발전을 이루었으며, 화려해진 작품들은 넷아트의 가능성을 높이고 있다. 하지만, 이러한 작품들은 작가가 프로그램(ex: flash, photoshop, illustrator)이라는 도구를 이용, 마우스로 하나하나 그려 모니터에 출력되기까지 많은 시간을 필요로 하며 단순한 작업의 연속으로 이루어진 결과물 이었다. 같은 작업의 반복으로 인해 작품을 만드는 데는 많은 시간을 필요로 하게 되었으며 효율성과 가능성을 높이지는 못하였다. 본 논문에서는 이런 반복적인 넷아트 작품의 성질과 특징을 같은 작업을 빠른속도로 연산 할 수 있는 프로그래밍이라는 공학적 측면을 이용해 살펴보고, 그것을 시각화, 알고리즘화 해 봄으로써 아날로그적인 감성의 넷아트 작품을 제작하는데 효율적이고, 효과적인 방법으로 구현 할 수 있도록 제안해 보도로 하겠다. 우리가 지금 일상에서 사용하고 있는 도구, 그리고 살아가고 있는 환경도 알고 보면 일정한 규칙으로 만들어졌으며 성장하고 있다. 꽃이 피는 것에도 일정규칙이 있으며 나무가 자라는 것도 법칙 있다. 이것은 자연도 알고리즘화 시킬 수 있는 것이며 프로그래밍화(ex flash, processing, lingo) 시킬 수 있다는 것이다. 지금 프로그래밍을 다루는데 익숙한 미디어 작가는 많지 않으며, 모든 작품을 알고리즘화 시킨다는 것은 어려운 일이겠지만 미디어작가들 사이에서도 공학적 접근을 통해 한계를 극복하고자 하는 시도가 있으며 지속적인 접근은 앞으로도 부족한 이 분야에 많은 발전가능성을 보여줄 것이며 개선의 여지를 남겨두고 있다.

Nail Art Convergence Designs Using Kidult Characteristics (키덜트 유형별 특징을 활용한 네일아트 융합 디자인)

  • This study categorized the kidult culture into three: cutiesm kidult, fantasm kidult and memorism kidult and analysed each type of kidult culture for the design. To obtain data on characteristics of kidult and gel nail art techniques, the study searched for theses, technical books and Internet data and developed unique and creative convergence nail art designs based on the results. As a result, it was discovered that cutiesm kidult is characterized by cuteness, brightness and use of characters, fantasm kidult is characterized by value of imagination and fantasy, and memorism kidult is characterized by memories of the past and use of characters. Then using the characteristics of kidult according to types, this study made 6 nail art designs through which creative and unique characteristics of the kidult culture were expressed in nail art design.

Nail Art Convergence Design Using Mosaic Technique (모자이크 기법을 적용한 네일아트 융합 디자인)

  • As nailists do not pay much attention to development of new designs while repeating existing or variated designs, nail design is not developed further and just simple design is repeated. In this perspective, this study is to suggest nail art designs grafted on Mosaic technique using diverse objets to overcome the problems of lacking materials and design skills. For the purposes, this study analysed the concept and characteristics of Mosaic technique based on bibliographical data, Internet web-sites and previous studies, and presented 4 pieces of UV gel nail art design using diverse materials of cellophane paper, gel, hologram and stone as a convergence design. As a result, this study discovered that there is a possibility that more materials would be used and the limitation of existing nail art can be overcome through a suggestion of new convergence nail art. It is expected that further research would be conducted on satisfaction of clients in the developed skills and the result will be helpful to more sale in nail shops.

Art Mask Converged Design Based on an Expression Method of Cubism (입체주의 표현기법을 활용한 아트 마스크 융합 디자인)

  • Contemporary art make-up is being widely developed in line with the trends of individualization and differentiation departing from basic desires or logical thinking about the desires of human beings who ultimately pursue beauty and experiencing diversified convergence and integration befitting customer needs. Cubism that has been playing a central role at the center of art history in the $20^{th}$ century can act as a good material based on creativity with regard to expression of the art make-up. In this regard, the study was focused on creating new concepts of design and novel areas of expression by combining expressive methods of cubism with art make-up to suggest an art mask. As for a method of the study, cubism and art make-up were examined based on preceding studies, Internet data and technical books, and the expression method of cubism was divided into plural points of view, partition of shape and collage and motivated the works of Picasso for the purpose of art mask-converged design. As a result of the study, it was found out that the expression method of cubism was applicable to the art make-up, and creative art make-up converged design could be generated to make a suggestion. In this regard, it is hoped that further studies will be facilitated and that this study can be instrumental in developing art make-up design.

  • This paper conveys the limitations of analog natural history sample information in digital form, giving viewers interest and fun, and presenting the direction of digital diorama utilization of sample exhibitions. In this exhibition, through various media such as 10,000 won bill dramas and newspaper articles, the Sun and Moon and Five Peaks, a picture familiar to the public, was reproduced in media art so that it can be realized in real life. It is a Joseon Dynasty work in which five mountain peaks, a pair of waterfalls, and four pine trees are drawn symmetrically from side to side. In order to express the vividness of nature, the symbols of the sun and moon were created with the effect of light to maximize immersion, and animals such as waves, crane movements, deer, ramie butterflies, and carp were inserted under the mountain peaks to create the vividness of nature and creatures playing in them. The media art folding screen was produced and directed as a screen. In addition, the introduction of the work and information related to the living things in the work were provided through QR codes.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the theoretical background of art make-up and surrealism in depth and shed new light on creative thoughts coming through application of Depaysement and various kinds of expression realized through art make-up, where art and make-up are incorporated. The study method is to conduct prior research followed by a theoretical study of the concept and techniques of Surrealistic Depaysement and theoretical background of art make-up through specialized books and internet sources and then to create 4 artworks representing characteristics of Depaysement technique categorized in dual image, fusion of heterogeneous objects, modification and conversion, and change of space. This examination resulted in first, a foundational ground for fusion and use of art and make-up sectors by creating a realm of expression based on creativity through incorporation of art and makeup and second, a sense of freshness and unfamiliar-ness by creation of an image in a completely unfamiliar space. Therefore, the researcher sets a direction for ways to come up with new ideas and expand the realm of expression and hopes that the art-makeup does not just become an aesthetic tool but turn itself as an art genre.

  • In the Web 3.0 era, the third generation of web technologies that uses blockchain technology to give creators ownership of data, metaverse is a crucial trend for developing a creator economy. Web 3.0 aims for a value in which content creators are compensated from participation without being dependent on the platform. Blockchain NFT technology is crucial in metaverse, a vital component of Web 3.0, to ensure the ownership of digital assets. Based on the theory that investigates the concept and characteristics of metaverse, this study identifies five features of the metaverse based NFT art ①'Continuity', ②'Presence', ③ 'Concurrency', ④'Economy', ⑤ 'Application of technology'. By focusing on metaverse based NFT art <Hybrid Nature> case study, we analyzed how the concepts and characteristics of the metaverse and NFT art were reflected in the work. This study focuses on the concept of NFT art, which is emerging at the intersection of art, technology and industry, and emphasizes the importance of finding creative, aesthetic, and cultural values rather than the NFT art's potential for financial gain. It is still in its early stage for academic studies to focus on the aesthetic qualities of NFT art. Future academics and researchers can find this study to gain deeper understanding of the traits and artistic, creative aspects of metaverse based NFT art.

  • The information technology is quickly changing the paradigm of the overall society. This change has influenced the art field and exceeded the limit of prior art characteristics and methods opening up a new world of art pieces starting among the young artists based on digital art technology. Especially the internet art of the computer technology made the communication of the artist and the viewer to communicate in a bilateral manner different from one way feeding of the past and made it possible for the viewers to choose their involvement in the act of seeing the work changing the reaction into a fluid concept. This thesis is about using the digital media in the net art communication to figure out the fluid interaction by approaching the digital media concept and by analyzing the characteristics of net art communication means and thus take a overall look at the artist related web sites and see the net art as a new communication means.

  • A work of Art is not supposed to be isolated from the world, but it should be influenced by its cultural background and situations of the times. Therefore, Art itself reflects its era. In other words, it is created being based on the thought of its artist and simultaneously interacting with external conditions or circumstances of the era, so it would also affect the cultural code of its society. This is why modern art made by the individual living in this complicated and diversified society is quite avant-garde. Various demands from its society and diversified senses have been influencing diversification of works of Art. Now we can say that a mode of art is also dose to current stream of the times. A lot of artists have been trying to get out of traditional way of presentation techniques and classification of genres. In that point, the emergence of Multimedia Alt is inevitable in this digital era. The terms of Internet or multimedia are now familiar with everybody in the world, and a lot of works like Technology Art, Information Art, Computer Art, Digital Art, New Media Art, and so on have been coming into the world by using multimedia. Unlike other works of Art, these works from multimedia are practically used by being combined with technologies. Hereupon, in this paper I would like to find out a concept of Multimedia Art, its social function, and the future prospect of this brand-new form of art.
