인터넷 방송의 등장배경에는 WWW이 있다. WWW가 등장하기 전의 인터넷에서는 방송을 감히 생각하지도 못했었다. WWW와 함께 멀티미디어 소스의 스트리밍 기술의 발전도 주요한 배경으로 자리한다. 1995년 이후 동영상에 대한 여러 기술들이 관심이 높아지면서 비약적인 발전을 거듭하여 멀티미디어 동영상, 오디오 스트리밍 기술도 급속도로 발전을 했고, 이는 인터넷 방송 등장의 배경이 되었다.

In 21st century, the world media marketing structure began to be re-organized. The development of the digital technology has been realized through new media, add the world markets were merged into one through the opening of markets, which opened the new age of unlimited competition and re-organization of media service providers. The purposes of this thesis are to develop domestic markets by reinforcing the competitiveness of domestic Internet broadcasting (webcasting) under the changes of the world media industry and the expansion of the Internet broadcasting, and to explore strategies to create domestic Internet broadcasting in the rapidly changing world media markets. In this study, the status and problems of Korean Internet broadcasting were analyzed and some strategies for improving current situations were proposed.

With the spread of Internet personal broadcasting service, the number of personal broadcasting hosts (BJs: Broadcasting Jockeys) and viewers is increasing, and immediate communication between them is also actively taking place. This study examines whether the mechanism to suppress deviant behavior of BJ works effectively and how viewers interacting with BJs affect the intentions of deviant behaviors of BJs. Through the structural equation model, the effect of formal and informal sanctions of deterrence theory on BJs' intention of deviant broadcasting through their policy compliance attitude was investigated. The moderating effect of social pressure on the relationship between BJs' policy compliance attitude and their deviant broadcasting intention was confirmed. A total of 234 data were analyzed by surveying Africa TV BJs. As a result of the analysis, it was found that informal as well as formal sanctions increased the BJs' attitude toward policy compliance. However, it was confirmed that the social pressure perceived by BJs from Internet personal broadcasting viewers reduced the effect of policy compliance attitudes on reducing deviant broadcasting intentions.

최근 컴퓨터 하드웨어와 네트워크 기술의 발전으로 인터넷을 이용한 다양한 형태의 비디오 서비스들이 등장하게 되었다. 이러한 요구 중 가장 특징적인 것은 단방향의 방송이 아닌 양방향성 방송, 즉 대화형 방송에 대한 요구이다. 기존의 인터넷 방송은 사용자의 요구사항을 반영하기 보다 개발의 편리성 위주로 단순한 인터페이스와 단방향 서비스를 제공하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 사용자의 요구를 잘 반영하고 보다 활발한 Interactive인터넷 방송을 위한 미들웨어 연구와 실시간 다중 프레임을 지원하는 icast 미들웨어 기반 설계와 사용자 인터페이스 구현 예제를 제시하였다.

공공기관에서는 인터넷 방송 서비스를 통해 문자, 그림, 사진, 영상, 음악 등 다양한 멀티미디어 정보를 제공하고 있다. 일반 지상파 tv방송과는 달리 공공 인터넷 방송은 양방향으로 커뮤니케이션이 가능한 웹 미디어 플랫폼을 통해 실시간으로 정보를 주고 받을 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 이용자가 원하는 정보를 주문하고 서비스를 받을 수 있어 공공기관과 이용자간 소통수단으로 활용되고 있다. 그러나 공공 인터넷 방송의 시청률과 참여하는 양방향 콘텐츠의 다양성 측면을 분석해 보면 예상과 달리 이용실적이 저조한 것으로 나타나고 있다. 이러한 문제의 주요한 원인으로는 근래에 들어 확산되고 있는 스마트 모바일 환경에 실시간으로 대응하여 공공미디어 서비스를 제공하지 못하는 공공미디어 접근성의 한계와 인터넷이라는 양방향 미디어 플랫폼을 지향하면서도 제공하는 공공콘텐츠는 공급형 중심의 콘텐츠 성격을 벗어나지 못한다는 점을 들 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 공공 인터넷 방송의 문제점을 사용자 접근성과 양방향 콘텐츠 활성화라는 측면에서 분석하였다. 그 결과 공공 인터넷 방송 플랫폼의 개방성이 필요한 것으로 나타났으며, 다양한 스마트 모바일 환경에서 공공콘텐츠의 생산, 게시, 공유가 자유로운 공공 미디어 플랫폼 형태가 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 HTML5, SNS플랫폼 연계 등이 포함된 개방형 공공 미디어 플랫폼 모델을 정의하고 이를 기반으로 양방향 공공콘텐츠를 활성화 할 수 있는 공공 미디어 서비스 모델과 이를 구현한 구축 사례를 제시하였다.

This study explores the popular channels of Afreeca TV, which is the most famous Internet Broadcasting Service in South Korea currently. Due to the developments of technology, the era has come that ordinary people are able to do broadcasting individually with some equipment. Unlike traditional media, Internet Broadcasting does not have a concept of ratings, and Afreeca TV utilizes the specific formula for counting popular channels. In this situation, this study analyzes the popular channels on Afreeca TV by 1) Gender 2) Profile Photo 3) Genre 4) Enthusiast 5) Fanclub 6) Supporter 7) Amount of Airtime 8) Cumulative Audience, and then it reveals the traits of those popular channels. Then, it further discusses the future of the Internet broadcasting.

An increasing number of people in their lifes have used personal web-casting services as a new type of broadcasting, whose power has grown in the broadcasting market and industry. Nevertheless, limited research concerning personal web-casting has been conducted so far. This research explored consumption structures of personal web-casting users in terms of their genre usage based on the theoretical concept of genre repertoire. And it also examined what determinants have influences on these structures by focusing on as an representative case in South Korea. The findings showed that sensation seeking, motivation for getting information and social presence affect genre repertoire of personal web-casting users. They also indicated that there is a moderating effect of social presence in the relationship between motivation for joy and genre repertoire.

각종 사물을 인터넷에 연결하여 다양한 서비스에 활용할 수 있는 융합 기술인 사물인터넷은 기업, 국가, 학계 등의 다양한 참여를 통해 연구되고 있다. 본 고에서는 다양한 사물인터넷 플랫폼 기술 동향을 국제 컨소시움, 국외 업체, 국내 업체에 따라 분류하고 각 플랫폼의 특징 및 동향을 살펴본다. 또한 국제 표준화 단체의 사물인터넷 관련 기술 표준화 동향을 소개한다.

IPTV는 IP를 기반으로 한 초고속인터넷을 기반으로 제공되는 미디어 서비스로서, 국내에 널리 확산된 초고속인터넷을 기반하여 급속도로 확산되고 있는 추세에 있다. 특히, 국내에 IPTV서비스가 본격적으로 상용서비스를 제공한지 3년이라는 시간이 경과하면서, 2012년 8월 500만 가입자를 돌파하여 국내의 주요 방송미디어 매체로 등극하였다. 하지만 IPTV는 도입초기부터 많은 법규제 논란이 제기되어 기존의 방송법이 아닌 인터넷멀티미디어방송사업법(이하 IPTV법)을 별도로 제정하여 IPTV를 규제하고 있다. 이는 IPTV가 기존의 방송과는 달리 VOD 및 양방향서비스 등과 같은 비선형 서비스 및 부가서비스 제공이 가능하기 때문에 기존법으로는 규제가 어렵기 때문이다. 해외의 경우에는 IPTV에 대해서 정도의 차이는 있지만 기존 방송의 규제틀안에서 차별화를 하는 방향으로 규제가 이루어지고 있다. 유럽은 EU의 '국경없는 TV지침(TWFD)이 확대 개정된 시청각 미디어지침(AVMSD)을 근간으로 규제를 하고 있는데, 이 지침에 따라 EU 역내국가들은 방송미디어서비스를 선형서비스와 비선형서비스로 구분하고 있다. 기존 방송이 해당되는 선형서비스에 대해서는 강한 규제를, VOD와 같은 비선형 서비스에 대해서는 약한 규제를 적용하고 있다. 미국은 IPTV를 다채널 유료방송시장(MVPD)의 일종으로 구분하고 케이블방송과는 별개의 서비스로 구분하고 있으며, 주 단위의 IPTV 면허를 필요로 한다. 따라서 IPTV는 위성방송이나 케이블방송과 같이 콘텐츠 규제를 받게된다. 캐나다는 규제당국인 CTRC가 공공방송, 사적방송, 공동체 섹터로 구분하여 면호규제를 시행하며, 콘텐츠 규제는 CTRC와 업계의 자율규제를 통해 시행하고 있는데, IPTV와 같은 뉴미디어에 대해서는 규제의 예외를 인정하고 있다.

인터넷 방송의 장점과 시대적 요구에 부응하여 각 시 도 교육청에서는 인터넷 교육 방송국을 구축하여 운영중이거나 구축하기 위해 노력하고 있다. 그러나 인터넷 교육방송 컨텐츠를 학교 교육과정 속에서 어떻게 활용할 것인가에 대한 논의는 상식적인 수준에 머물러 있으며 이를 위한 축적된 연구 성과도 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 현재 구축되어 운영하고 있는 시 도 교육청 인터넷 교육방송국 중 3곳을 선정하여 초등학교에서 활용할 수 있는 동영상 컨텐츠를 중심으로 현황을 살펴보고, 컨텐츠 수량 및 재생시간, 제작 방식, 화질을 조사 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 인터넷교육방송 컨텐츠를 손쉽고 효율적으로 활용한 수 있도록 교수 학습에의 활용을 중심으로 활용방안을 제시하였다.
