The Phenomenology of Quitting: Effects from Repetition and Cognitive Effort (중단의 현상학: 반복과 인지적 노력의 효과)

  • When performing a monotonous task, one often experiences an urge to quit. This urge may vary depending on how long one has performed the task (a temporal factor) and on which particular component of the task one is carrying out (an event-based factor). Using the Stroop task and a working memory task, we examined changes in the urge to quit as a function of basic temporal (repetition) and event-based (cognitive conflict) factors. Consistent with the law of least work and recent theorizing, for the memory task, urges to quit were greater following difficult trials; for the Stroop task, urges to quit were greater following incongruent than congruent trials, but only during early/novice phases of performance, when responding is inefficient. This is a demonstration of an avoidance response toward cognitive conflict. Regarding temporal sources of quitting, urges to quit were greater for late task stages than early stages. These basic findings may illuminate the nature of the more 'hot' motivational struggles involving the delay of gratification.

Comparison of Risk Factors in Cognitive Impairment between Non-depressive Elderly and Depressive Elderly (우울정상노인과 우울노인의 인지기능저하에 미치는 위험요인 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the risk factors of cognitive impairment between non-depressive elderly and depressive elderly. Data was obtained from 1,477 elderly not diagnosed to dementia. In result, non-depressive elderly group was found as having risk factors of cognitive function in age and educational level. In non-depressive group, older elderly(OR=1.095) and the elderly with no experience of education(OR=9.129) had more in risk of cognitive impairment. Depressive elderly group was found as having risk in age, educational level, and residence style. In depressive elderly, older elderly (OR=1.101), the person with low education(illiteracy:OR=33.020, elementary:OR=10.176, middle school: OR=9.841), and the elderly living in nursing home(OR=8.490) had more in risk of cognitive impairment. Through this result, it could be suggested that the depressive elderly with low educational level living in nursing home should be intervened to decrease the rate of dementia more effectively.

Factors Associated with Diabetes Prevalence and Diabetes Awareness in Korean Adults Aged 30-49 (30~49세 한국 성인의 당뇨병 유병 및 당뇨병 인지 관련 요인)

  • This study is a descriptive research study with secondary analysis of data from the 8th National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The purpose of this study was to analyze the prevalence and awareness of diabetes in 300 Korean adults aged 30 to 49 with diabetes, and to identify the factors influencing it. For data analysis, the composite sample frequency and percentage, χ2-test, and logistic regression analysis were performed using the SPSS 25.0 program. Among the diabetic patients, 171 patients (57.0%) recognized that they had diabetes, and the factors influencing cognition were gender, education level, BMI, subjective health status, cardiovascular disease, and paternal and maternal family history. Based on the results of this study, it can be used as basic data to establish policies and intervention programs that reduce the prevalence of diabetes in relatively young people aged 30 to 49 years and increase awareness among those with diabetes in Korea.

Effects of Giving Prompts and Asking for Self-Explanation Depend on the Students' Need for Cognition (촉진질문 제공과 자기설명 지시가 기억과 이해에 미치는 영향: 인지욕구와의 상호작용)

  • A three factor experiment was conducted to explore the effects of giving prompts and asking for self explanation and the modulating effect of the need for cognition (NC) on the two interventions. The effects of giving prompts and asking for self explanation were different depending on the task and the level of need for cognition. Participants of low NC conditions showed the prompt effect and the self explanation effect in the memory tests. On the other hand, participants in the high NC conditions performed better in the comprehension test when they were given prompts and were asked to self explain. However, high NC participants performed worse when they were asked to self explain without providing the prompts. The results were interpreted to suggest the importance of detecting the right parts in getting the self explanation effect.

Healing Case Study Applying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on Mathematics Anxiety (인지행동치료기법을 적용한 수학불안 치유사례)

  • This case study is performed to check the validity of cognitive behavioral therapy for high school students with mathematics anxiety. In order to find out whether it is effective or not, one female high school student who suffers physically and mentally from mathematics anxiety was selected and cognitive behavioral therapy was applied. The therapy is applied to her for 30 to 40 minutes, once a week, and for eight weeks. The main themes were: To understand my problem, To write down thinking log, To set up a plan for actions, To experiment actions, To change intermediate confidence, To change core belief. To check the validity, before and after the experiment, revised version of Heo(1996)'s assessment tools for mathematics anxiety was applied. The subject was interviewed and the results of the therapy were compared and analyzed. According to the research, the worst mathematics anxiety of the subject was test anxiety. After the procedure, the anxiety related to mathematics and teachers was lessened. Especially, the subject had changed her mind and become more positive and optimistic on solving difficult mathematics problems. Therefore, the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy on mathematics anxiety was confirmed. It is required to construct special program - about cognitive behavioral therapy, interactions of cognitive-affective causes, and group therapy - and check the validity of it.

A Meta-analysis and Review of External Factors the Perceived Usefulness and Ease of Use on Smartphone (스마트폰의 인지된 유용성과 사용 용이성에 미치는 선행요인 문헌적 고찰 및 메타분석)

  • 기술수용모델은 지난 20년 동안 많은 주제로 다루어지고 있으며 지금도 여전히 계속 연구되어 오고 있다. 메타분석은 여러 실증연구의 정량적인 결과를 통합과 분석을 통해 전체 결과를 조망할 기회를 제공하는 통계적 통합 방법이다. 최근 스마트폰 관련 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 시점에 기술수용모델을 기반으로 선행 요인에 관한 문헌적 고찰과 메타분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구는 2013년 이전 국내 학술지에 게재된 연구 중 기술수용모델의 인과관계를 설정한 총 106편의 연구논문을 대상으로 하였다. 메타분석의 결과, 선행 요인과 인지된 유용성의 경로에 가장 큰 효과 크기는 유희성으로 나타났다. 인지된 유용성과 유희성의 경로에 효과 크기는 0.536이었다. 그리고 선행 요인과 인지된 사용 용이성의 경로에 가장 큰 효과 크기는 자기 효능감으로 나타났다. 인지된 사용 용이성과 자기 효능감 경로에 효과 크기는 0.626이었다. 분석결과를 통해 이론적 실무적 시사점을 논의 하고자 한다.

  • 유비쿼터스 환경 하에서 새로운 첨단 핵심기술 및 서비스가 하나의 제품 안에 집중되어가는 시대적 요구가 대두되고 있다. 이에 부응하여 탄생한 컨버전스 제품인 텔레매틱스의 전망 역시 두드러지고 있다. 본 연구는 Davis[14]가 제안한 기술수용모델(Technology Acceptance Model:TAM)을 통하여 텔레매틱스 사용의도에 관한 수용모형을 제시하였다. 기술수용모델의 내부 요인인 사용의도, 인지된 유용성과 인지된 이용용이성 외에도 업체 신뢰도, 정황 인식성, 자기 효능감의 외부 요인으로 확장하여 요인 간의 구조적 관계를 위한 모형을 개발하였다. 실증분석을 한 결과 정황 인식성, 자기 효능감이 각각 인지된 유용성과 이용용이성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 텔레매틱스의 이용자에게 중요시 되는 특성에 대해 논의하였다.

최고경영층의 인지유형과 MIS 참여

  • MIS 개발에 최고 경영층의 참여에 관한 기존 연구에는 참여의 범위와 정도, 방법, 참여 지침 그리고 MIS 성공과의 관련성 등을 밝히고 있지만 최고경영층의 MIS개발에 참여를 결정하는 요인에 관한 연구는 거의 없다. 본 연구의 목적은 최고경영층의 MIS참여를 결정하는 요인으로 인지유형을 채택하여 인지유형별로 MIS참여 정도가 다를 것이라는 가설을 검증하는데 있다. 이와 같은 연구는 최고경영층의 MIS참여 방향을 제시하고 최고경영층의 MIS교육과 훈련에 유용한 자료가 되며 궁극적으로 성공적인 MIS구축을 위한 지침이 된다. 최고경영층의 인지유형은 융의 분류를 따랐고, MIS개발에 관한 7개의 참여범위와 5단계에 걸친 참여정도와의 관계를 살펴보았다. 인지유형에 따른 최고경영층의 MIS참여에 대해서 3개의 가설을 설정하여 최고경영자들로부터 직접 회수한 설문지로 Mann-Whitney U 검증법과 Kruskal-Wallis 검증법을 이용하여 실증적 분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 의하면 최고경영층의 MIS 참여정도는 인지유형별로 유의적인 차이를 보이고 있다. 그러므로, 인지유형별로 최고경영층의 MIS 참여지침과 참여범위를 제공할 수 있는 것이 입증되었다. 그러나, 본 연구에는 MIS 개발 단계별로 최고경영층 참여의 중요도에 관한 가중치가 고려되지 않았고, 시스템 자체의 성격(DP 혹은 DSS)이 고려되지 않은 제한점 등이 있다.

Internal Marketing Approach to Internal Satisfaction and Cognitive Organization Performance : The Case of Korean Water Resources Corporation (내부마케팅이 직무만족과 인지적 기업성과에 미치는 영향 : 한국수자원공사를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of implementing internal marketing on the internal satisfaction and on the cognitive organization performance in the K-water by using the logistic regression analysis. The results of test are as follows. First, three internal marketing factors such as reward system, education and training, and internal communication have a significant influence on employee's job satisfaction of the K-water. Second, two internal marketing factors such as education and training, and internal communication have a significant influence on organization performance of the K-water. In conclusion, internal marketing enhances job satisfaction and organization performance, and satisfied employees provide good customer service, thus resulting in enhanced customer satisfaction and improved organization performance.

Factors Affecting Blog Use : An Empirical Study Using Extended TAM and Perceived Encouragement (블로그 사용에 영향을 미치는 요인 : 확장된 기술수용모델과 인지된 격려를 이용한 실증연구)

  • Recently, blogging has been regarded as a promising media for information sharing and relationship building. However, it is not quite sure if the technology acceptance model could be completely adopted also in relationship-based system such as blog. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to identify the factors affecting the usage of blogs. To do so, content analysis methodology is applied to extract meaningful factors affecting the usage of blogs in the opinions of the bloggers in a Korean portal site : Naver. We investigates the causal relationship among three factors ; perceived usefulness, perceived encouragement, and actual use in blogging. Moreover, public self-consciousness, self disclosure and telepresence are also considered as the determinants. The results show that public self-consciousness and self disclosure are significant elements affecting perceived usefulness and perceived encouragement, while perceived usefulness and perceived encouragement both affecting the actual use of blogs.
