Reliability Analysis Considering Modeling Uncertainty (모델링불확실성을 고려한 신뢰성 해석)

  • 본 기사에서는 모델링불확실성(modeling uncertainty)에 따른 신뢰성 해석결과의 가변성(variability)을 가능성 분포함수(possibility distribution function)를 구성하여 해결하는 방법을 AISC(1998), AIJ(1985), CSA(1994)에서 제안된 3개의 최대 D/t 계산식을 예로 들어 소개하였다. 확신정도가 측정된 신뢰성지수 들을 얻을 수 있으며, 확신정도를 고려한 신뢰성지수의 결정이 가능하게 된다. 다양한 형태의 불확실성에 대하여 그 형태에 맞는 적합한 불확실성 모델링을 사용하는 것도 중요하지만, 확률적 표현에 익숙한 우리의 인지구조를 고려하여 기존의 신뢰성 해석에 어떻게 다양한 불확실성 모델링 방법을 접목시킬 것인지에 대한 연구도 중요할 것이다.

Elementary Students' Cognitive Conflict Through Discussion and Physical Experience in Learning of Electric Circuit (전기회로 학습에서 초등학생의 토론과 체험을 통한 인지갈등)

  • We investigated elementary students' conceptions of the simple electric circuit using a battery, a bulb and a wire, and made comparison between the cognitive conflict through peer discussion and the cognitive conflict through physical experience. Two hundred and sixty-four sixth grade students who already had learned about the electric circuit were participated. The questionnaire to investigate the student's conceptions about simple electric circuit consisted of 5 items drawing the wire connections between a battery and a bulb to light the bulb. The students in the discussion group paired randomly with student who had different conceptions, and then each pairs discussed about their ideas freely with each other. After discussion they conducted CCLT(Cognitive Conflict Level Test) which consisted of 4 factors; recognition, interest, anxiety, reappraisal. The physical experience group conducted a task in which they connected a battery and a bulb with a wire, then conducted CCLT. The sixth graders had various misconceptions. Most students were not aware of the scope of negative battery terminal and two electric terminals of a bulb. Many students emphasized the tip of a bulb and positive battery terminal. The score of CCLT in the discussion group was higher than in the physical experience group. This results showed that discussion with peers was more effective than physical experience to arouse cognitive conflict.

The Characteristics of semantic association task performance in elderly with subjective memory impairment and mild cognitive impairment (주관적 기억장애 및 경도인지장애 노인의 의미연상과제 수행 특성)

  • The loss of semantic knowledge and impairments in semantic associations by semantic category is gaining increasing attention, as indicators of early-stage cognitive decline. As such, we assigned semantic association task (SAT) to normal elderly (NE) and those with subjective memory impairment (SMI) or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to examine their performance by semantic subcategories and the differences in error patterns. We found a significant difference in the number of correct response and reaction time under the SAT categories among the three groups, with the highest performance observed in 'function' and the lowest performance in 'superordinate' and 'part/whole'. Moreover, the error frequency was the lowest in NE, followed by those with SMI and MCI, with the latter two groups showing a significant increase in no-response. Our findings demonstrate the varying extent and process of impairments in the semantic network by category over different stages of cognitive decline. Thus, we proposed SAT performance as an indicator to detect and follow-up on cognitive decline in elderly with cognitive disorder.

The Effects of Multimodal Cognitive Intervention Focused on Instrumental Activities of Daily Living(IADL) for the elderly with High-risk of Dementia : a Pilot Study (도구적 일상생활에 초점을 둔 복합인지중재 프로그램이 치매고위험군 노인에게 미치는 영향 : 예비연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the multimodal cognitive intervention focusing on instrumental daily life on the cognitive function, depression and quality of life of the elderly with high-risk of dementia. This study was conducted on 24 elderly people with high-risk of dementia who participated in cognitive rehabilitation program from March to June, 2018 in Chungbuk A region. The intervention was applied to cognitive training and creative activities related to instrumental daily life. MMSE-DS, Subjective Memory Complaints Questionnaire, Short Geriatric Depression Scale-Korean version and Geriatric quality of life - Dementia were performed before and after the intervention. We confirmed that the subjects showed significant improvement in Subjective Memory Complaints and Quality of Life, but showed no significant changes in cognitive function and depression after the intervention program. Through this study, it was confirmed that this program which can affect the real life of the elderly can be usefully applied in the community. In the future, it will be necessary to develop a program that utilizes more diverse instrumental activities of daily living.

Undergraduate Students' Response Characteristics by Cognitive Conflict Levels and Result Predictions on Action-Reaction and Electric Cireuits Learning Tasks (작용 . 반작용과 전기회로 학습과제에서 인지갈등과 결과예측에 따른 대학생의 응답특성)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the undergraduate students' response characteristics by their cognitive conflict levels and result predictions when they were confronted with the learning tasks of action & reaction and electric circuits. The 147 engineering college students who were enrolled at the introductory physics classes were selected as the subjects for this study. The students were grouped by cognitive levels and result predictions. First, in action and reaction task, the trend of suspecting experimental results and finding the reasons was dominant; however, in electric circuits, the trend of accepting the results was dominant. Second, the reasons for the responses on the subcategories of cognitive conflict were different by the level of cognitive conflict. The responses were influenced by students' preexisting knowledge, former experiences, learning habits, learning motivation, and epistemological beliefs, etc. The high conflict group recognized what they do not consider and was positive to reappraise their preconceptions, while the low conflict group showed the tendency of accepting the situation without doubt and low interest on learning physics. In conclusion, students responses showed differences in cognitive conflict levels, result predictions and presented conflict tasks. The research results, especially the response characteristics, suggest that more research on effective cognitive conflict strategies appropriate for different tasks and students' conflicts are necessary for effective physics teaching.

  • 인지심리학 및 인지언어학 분야에서 시도한 어휘 표상, 특히 움직임과 관련된 동사의 인지도식에 관한 연구들을 비교해보고자 한다. 인간의 언어학적인 지식을 도식적으로 표상 하고자 하는 노력은 언어의 통사적인 외형에만 치중하는 연구에서는 언어의 의미구조를 파악하기 힘들다고 판단하고 의미적인 범주화를 중요시하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 시각적 이미지 도식을 중점적으로 살펴보기로 한다. 이미지 도식은 공간적 위치 관계, 이동, 형상 등에 관한 지각과 결부되어 있다. 이미지로 나타낸 표상은 근본적으로 세상의 인식과 세상에 대한 행동방법을 사용하게 하는 유추적이고 은유적인 원칙에 기초하고 있다. 이러한 점에 있어서, 언술을 발화한 화자는 어느 정도 주관적인 행동의 능력과 그가 인식한 개념화에서부터 문자화시킨 표상을 구성한다. 인지 원칙에 입각한 의미 표상에 중점을 둔 도식으로는, Langacker, Lakoff, Talmy의 도식이 있다. 프랑스에서 톰 R. Thom과 같은 수학자들은 질적인 현상에 관심을 가져 형역학(morphodynamique)이론을 확립하였는데, 이 이론은 요즘의 인지 연구에 수학적 기초를 제공하였다. R. Thom, J. Petitot-Cocorda의 도식 및 구조 의미론의 창시자라고 불리는 B.Pottier의 도식이 여기에 속한다 J.-P. Descles가 제시한 인지연산문법(Grammaire Applicative et Cognitive)은 다른 인지문법과는 달리 정보 자동처리과정에서 사용할 수 있는 연산자와 피연산자의 관계에 기초한 수학적 연산작용을 발전시켰다. 동사의 의미는 의미-인지 도식으로 설명되는데, 이것은 서로 다른 연산자와 피연산자로 구성된 형식화된 표현이다. 인간의 인지 기능은 언어로 표현되며, 언어는 인간의 의사소통, 사고 행위 및 인지학습의 핵심적 기능을 담당한다. 인간의 언어정보처리 메카니즘은 매우 복잡한 과정이기 때문에 언어정보처리와 관련된 언어심리학, 인지언어학, 형식언어학, 신경해부학 및 인공지능학 등의 관련된 분야의 학제적 연구가 필요하다.

The Effect of Social Participation on Cognitive Impairment Degree among Korean Older Adults: Comparative Study between Urban and Rural Area (사회참여활동이 고령자 인지기능 손상 정도에 미치는 영향: 도시와 농촌 간 차이 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of social participation types on cognitive impairment degree(normal, mild, severe cognitive function) by urban and rural difference. The research was performed by multinomial logistic regression with the data of elderly 5,668 over 55 years of age from the sixth wave(2016) and the seventh wave(2018) of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing. Results show that social participation reduces the risk of cognitive impairment on both urban and rural older adults regardless of types, but the types of social participation, which are effective to reduce the risk of cognitive impairment, are different between urban and rural area. According to residential area, types of social participation, which are effective to decline the risk of being mild or severe cognitive impairment and the risk of being severe cognitive impairment relative to mild, are different. These findings suggest that, in order to prevent cognitive impairment and reduce the severity, social participation is strongly recommended and appropriate supports are required. This implies policy and intervention efforts considering the urban and rural difference are needed.

The Effect of the Results of Ascertaining Prediction on High School Students' Cognitive Conflict and Conceptual Change by Physics Achievement (물리 학업 성취도에 따른 예상의 확인 결과가 고등학생의 인지갈등과 개념변화에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the effect of the results of ascertaining prediction on cognitive conflict and conceptual change by physics achievement. The participants of this study were 186 11th graders. They answered a pretest composed of two items, and through a demonstration on either of the two pretest items, they ascertained whether their predictions were correct or not. The cognitive conflicts were measured with CCLT. After brief instructive treatment, a posttest was conducted to measure the degree of conceptual change. The students who ascertained that their predictions were incorrect generated more cognitive conflicts and conceptual changes than those who ascertained they were correct. In addition, cases in which student physics achievement was low were found to produce more meaningful results of ascertaining predictions on cognitive conflict and conceptual change.

  • Among the elderly and patients with mild brain diseases (such as dementia and stroke), when there is a certain degree of self-acting ability and cognitive ability, exercise and cognitive rehabilitation are often required. However, since most of the existing rehabilitation systems are separated or specialized in exercise or cognitive rehabilitation, there is a need for a form linking both. In this paper, we propose a game-type rehabilitation system that enables both exercise and cognitive rehabilitation using CAN communication protocol, one of ICT technologies. This system uses the CAN BUS structure to separate and combine each individual module constituting the rehabilitation system in various forms. A prototype of the proposed system was actually produced to show that various types of rehabilitation environments can be implemented according to the degree of cognitive ability and motor ability of the patient (or the elderly). In addition, through several experiments using this system, it is possible to implement exercise/cognitive parallel rehabilitation applicable to various environments.

  • 본 연구는 교통사고의 발생원인에 대한 인식유형과 감소대책에 대한 인지 유형별 영향요인의 정도를 분석하기 위하여 수량화이론 II류와 CHAID 분석법을 이용하여 분류모델과 판별모델을 구축하였다. 수량화이론 II류에 의한 교통사고 발생원인에 대한 인식 유형별 영향요인 판별모델은 전체 적중률이 78.4%로 매우 높게 나타났다. 편상관계수는 설명변수의 항목 중 학력, 성별, 운전경력 년 수, 소유 차종의 순으로 영향을 미치고 외적 변수인 교통사고 발생원인에 대한 유형에서는 기여 정도가 교통단속 부재 > 교통체계 미비 > 승용차 과다 사용 >잘못된 의식 때문의 순으로 나타났다. 교통사고 감소 대책에 대한 인지유형별 영향요인 판별모델은 전체 적중률이 59.9%로 높게 나타났으며, 편상관 계수는 학력, 성별, 운전경력 연수, 연령의 순으로 영향을 미치고 있고, 외적 변수인 교통사고 감소 대책에 대한 유형에서는 기여 정도가 교통단속 강화 > 대중교통수단 이용 유도 > 교통체계 개선 > 의식 개혁의 순으로 나타났다. 또한 CHAID 분석법에 의한 교통사고 발생원인에 대한 인식 유형별 영향요인 분류모델에 있어서는 예측변수로 학력, 연령, 성별, 통행수단의 네 가지 변수가, 교통사고의 감소 대책에 대한인지 유형별 영향요인 분류모델에 있어서는 학력, 운전경력 연수, 성별 그리고 통행수단의 네 가지 변수가 카이제곱 통계량 이 5%의 유의수준에서 유의한 것으로 판단되었다. 교통사고 발생원인 인식과 감소 대책의 인지 유형에 대한 빈도분석과 교차분석은 의식과 관련한 유형이 가장 높게 나타났으나 판별.분류모델에서는 교통단속과 관련한 유형이 기여 정도가 높고 의식 관련 유형이 상대적으로 낮게 나타나는 등 반대양상을 보이고 있어 심리적으로 내재되어 있고 표면에 잘 드러나지 않았던 의식 수준의 낮음이 분류모델을 통해서 명확하게 드러났다.
