A Study on Driver Behavior and Dilemma Zone during Yellow Interval at Signalized Intersections (신호교차로 황색현시에서의 운전자 형태 및 딜레마 구간 연구방안)

  • Objective of this research is to analyze drivers' behaviors at signalized intersection during yellow interval. For this, deceleration rate of stopping, PRT(Perception-Response Time), and the relationship between dilemma zone and deceleration rate of stopping were surveyed at two signalized intersections located at urban area(Songtan and Suwon) and local area(Yongin) As a result, the deceleration rate of stopping at signalized intersections and a range of dilemma zone were estimated. It was found that the deceleration rate of stopping and PRT were 1.6m/sec$^2$ and 1.27sec, respectively. These values are bigger than ITE's values which have been used in our country. Accordingly, it is considered that these values should be used as a new design criteria for the traffic signal control.

A Study on the Warning Characteristics of LDWS using Driver's Reaction Time and Vehicle Type (차량 종류 및 운전자 인지반응 시간을 이용한 LDWS 경고 특성에 관한 연구)

  • More than 80 percent of traffic accidents related with lane departure believed to be the result of crossing the lane due to either negligence or drowsiness of the driver. Lane-departure related accident in the highway usually involve high fatality. Even though LDWS is believed to prevent accident 25% and reduce fatalities by 15% respectively, its effectiveness in performance is yet to be confirmed in many aspects. In this study, the vehicle lateral locations relative to warning zone envelop (earliest and latest warning zone) defined in ISO standard, ECE and NHTSA regulations are compared with respect to various factors including delays, vehicle speed and vehicle heading angle with respect to the lane. Since LDWS is designed to be activated at the speed over 60 km/h, vehicle speed range for the study is set to be from 60 to 100 km/h. The vehicle heading angle (yaw angle) is set to be up to 5 degree away from the lane (abrupt lane change) considering standard for lane change test using double lane-change test specification. The TLC is calculated using factors like vehicle speed, yaw angle and reaction time. In addition, the effect of vehicle type and reaction time have been considered to assess LDWS safety.

  • 우리나라의 병원 전 응급의료체계는 비교적 짧은 기간 동안에 소방서를 축으로 운영되고 있다. 병원 전 단계에서 응급처치의 적절성을 높이기 위해서는 119구급대에 의한 응급처치에 대하여 체계적으로 조사를 시행함으로써 기초 응급의료에 대한 지속적인 질 관리를 해 나가는 것이 매우 중요하다. 특히 뇌경색은 급성기 치료를 위하여 혈전용해제 치료가 중요하며 증상 발현 후 치료가 시작되기까지의 소요시간이 매우 중요하므로 뇌경색 환자의 발생과 동시에 응급의료체계의 반응시간과 뇌경색을 인지하기 위한 환자평가 및 인지 후 응급처치 정도를 소방 119구급서비스를 통하여 살펴보고자 한다.

Information acquisition and searching in hypertext: Comparison Between adults and children (하이퍼텍스트상의 정보획득과 성인과 아동의 정보탐색)

  • This study investigated information acquisition from hypertext and the difference of searching behavior between adults and children. In experiment 1. we compared the amount of information acquisition from the hypertext to that of the printed text. The result showed that the performance in printed text was better than in hypertext. However. the performance of experienced (in the internet) participant showed no difference between the hypertext and the printed text. Experiment 2 compared the information-searching behavior of the adults and children in the hypertext environment. The results showed that adults performed the information-searching faster than children, yet there was no difference in the proportion of correct responses of the two groups. However. children who were more experienced in the internet and produced right answers to the 7th level questions in depth performed better and faster than the adults who were not. These results suggest that the experience in the internet is the most important factor in the searching of the wanted information.

  • Prior researchs on Internet shopping have focused on cognitive, technological factors, but this research is focused on emotions experienced during internet shopping. Examines emotion types experienced during internet shopping and shopping mall characteristics influencing emotional response and effect of emotions on internet shopping behavior, specifically focusing on gender difference The data, collected from a sample of 131 internet shoppers, indicate that emotion types experienced during internet shopping and shopping mall characteristics influencing emotional response and emotional response influencing internet shopping behavior are difference between female and male. Theses results provide insights on internet shopping mall management according to gender.

  • 본 연구는 신호교차로에서의 딜레마 죤 범위를 산정하고 신호위반 단속의 허용 범위를 분석하는데 있다. 각 교차로 접근로별 조사 자료를 토대로 딜레마 죤의 범위를 산정하였고, 이를 토대로 신호위반 단속에 있어 딜레마 죤의 영향을 최소화 할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 기존의 딜레마 죤에 관한 연구에서는 인지-반응 시간과 황색신호시간을 초기값으로 적용하였으나 본 연구에서는 해당 교차로의 조사치를 적용하였다. 조사 방법으로 속도조사는 스피드 건을 이용하여 각각의 대상 교차로별 접근로에서 접근 속도 및 통과 속도를 조사하였으며, 운전자의 인지-반응 시간 및 황색신호시간에 교차로를 통과하는 차량조사는 비디오 촬영을 통하여 조사하였다. 이러한 조사된 자료를 토대로 신호위반 단속기준에 맞추어 딜레마 죤에 관하여 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 딜레마 죤은 최소정지거리($d_0$)가 최대통과거리($d_c$)보다 클 때 존재하는 것으로 보았으며, 그 차이만큼의 딜레마 죤이 발생하는 것으로 정의하였다. 이에 신호위반 단속을 함에 있어딜레마 죤의 영향을 최소화 할 수 있는 방안 등을 제시하였다. 그러나 각각의 방안을 개별적으로 적용시킬 경우 문제점이 발생하였다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 자기감응식 루프검지기의 위치를 재조정함에 있어 하나의 루프 검지기를 정지선 이후에 존재함과 동시에 황색신호시간을 재조정하거나, 자기감응식 루프검지기의 작동시간을 재조정하는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 3개의 교차로를 비교대상으로 선정하여 각각의 교통환경에 따른 접근로별 딜레마죤의 범위를 최소화하기 위한 대안을 제시하였다.

The effect of immediate and delayed recognition on Event-Related Potentials in a continuous recognition memory task (연속재인과제에서 즉각적 재인과 지연 재인이 사건관련전위에 미치는 영향)

  • 연속재인과제에서 자극을 즉각적으로 반복 제시하거나 지연 반복 제시할 경우 사건관련전위에 차이가 나타나는지, 만약 차이가 관찰되면 자극 제시 후 어느 시점에서 차이가 두드러지게 나타나는지를 조사하였다. 실험 결과 즉각적 재인이 지연 재인에 비해 더 높은 반응정확율과 더 빠른 반응시간을 보였고 사건관련전위에서는 P300의 진폭이 더 컸고 잠재시간도 더 빨랐다. 그리고 지연재인에서 관찰되는 N400이 즉각적 재인에서는 나타나지 않았다. 지연재인에 비해 즉각적 재인에서 P300의 진폭이 더 크고 잠재시간이 더 빠르게 나타난 것은 P300이 template matching을 통한 정보처리 과정을 반영해 준다는 주장을 지지해 준다. 즉 즉각적 재인에서는 지연 재인에 비해 template matching이 훨씬 더 정확하고 빨리 일어나며 이 결과 P300의 진폭이 커지고 잠재시간이 더 빨라진 것으로 이해된다. 즉각적 재인에서는 방금 제시된 자극(시간 간격은 2초)을 재인하기 때문에 기억의 탐색 과정이 요구되지 않는 반면 5개의 간섭 단어 후에 반복 제시되는 단어를 재인하는 지연 재인에서는 단어에 대한 탐색 과정이 필요하며, 이에 따라 N400이 초래된 것으로 여겨진다. 이 결과는 N400이 기억 탐색 과정을 반영한다는 주장을 지지해 준다. 사건관련 전위에서 즉각적 재인과 지연 재인의 차이는 자극 제시 300ms에서 450ms사이에 가장 두드러지게 나타났다.

The Influence of Chromacity of LED Lighting on Time Perception (LED 조명 색도에 따른 시간 인지에 대한 연구)

  • LED technology offers versatile lighting control while having a very low environmental impact. Consequently, increasing attention is being paid to the emotional impact of LED lighting. This study investigated whether the chromacity of LED lighting influences people's time perception. To this end, two empirical studies were conducted: First, in experiment I(N=28), the subjects compared their perception of the time duration, which was varied from 3s to 20s, for 6 chromatically nuanced lighting conditions, respectively, with that under a daylight condition. The results showed that, in warm-color nuanced lighting conditions, the subjects perceived time to pass more slowly than in the daylight condition. On the contrary, in cool-color nuanced lighting conditions, the subjects perceived time to pass more rapidly than in the daylight condition. Then, in experiment II(N=39), the subjects were asked to count for 90 seconds while simultaneously performing some cognitive tasks. Confirming the results found in experiment I, the subjects perceived time to pass more rapidly in cool-color nuanced lighting conditions than in warm-color nuanced lighting conditions, although the difference was not statistically significant(p>0.05). In addition, the subjects tended to perceive the time to be shorter when the nuanced color of the light was closer to their preferred color.

The Phenomenology of Quitting: Effects from Repetition and Cognitive Effort (중단의 현상학: 반복과 인지적 노력의 효과)

  • When performing a monotonous task, one often experiences an urge to quit. This urge may vary depending on how long one has performed the task (a temporal factor) and on which particular component of the task one is carrying out (an event-based factor). Using the Stroop task and a working memory task, we examined changes in the urge to quit as a function of basic temporal (repetition) and event-based (cognitive conflict) factors. Consistent with the law of least work and recent theorizing, for the memory task, urges to quit were greater following difficult trials; for the Stroop task, urges to quit were greater following incongruent than congruent trials, but only during early/novice phases of performance, when responding is inefficient. This is a demonstration of an avoidance response toward cognitive conflict. Regarding temporal sources of quitting, urges to quit were greater for late task stages than early stages. These basic findings may illuminate the nature of the more 'hot' motivational struggles involving the delay of gratification.

A Comparative Study of Restaurant Customers' Waiting Time in a Quasi-experimental Setting (유사실험설계에 의한 레스토랑 고객의 대기시간 비교연구)

  • In recognition of the significance of waiting time in restaurant management, a quasi-experimental design was employed to measure the gap between actual and perceived waiting time in a real restaurant setting. In particular, this study focused on a comparison of Americans and Koreans to explore gender and culture differences in customer waiting behaviors. The results indicated that compared to American women, Korean women are more tolerant of waiting, and reported perceived waiting time as much longer than actual waiting time. However, there are no gender differences in both cultures. It is anticipated that managers will be able to adjust their operational strategies based on these results.
