Orientation awareness method using ubiTrack (ubiTrack을 이용한 방위 인식 기법)

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서의 맥락 인지 응용들은 사용자의 상황에 맞는 서비스를 제공하기 위해 위치 정보를 활용한다. 그러나 대부분의 실내 위치 추적 시스템들은 환경이 사용자의 위치를 파악함으로 프라이버시 문제가 야기 된다 또한 더욱 지능화된 서비스를 제공하기 위해 위치 정보와 더불어 방위 정보 인식의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서 제안된 방법은 사용자나 대상물의 방위를 알기 위해서 기존의 ubiTrack의 수신기에 두개의 적외선 수신기 소자를 부착한다. 두개의 적외선 수신 소자는 각각의 위치를 측정하고 각각의 위치로 부터 사용자나 대상물의 위치와 더불어 방위, 크기를 인식한다. 또한 대상물에 부착되어 있는 수신기가 대상물의 위치를 환경에 일정한 시간을 간격으로 환경에 알려 주도록 하여 사용자의 프라이버시 침범되지 않는 상태에서 사용자와 대상물의 위치 및 방위 정보를 제공한다. 실험 결과 제안된 방법은 홈 환경 내에서 여러 대상물의 방위를 10도 안팎의 오차를 가지고 인식하였다. 따라서 제안된 방법은 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 여러 맥락 인지 서비스와 연동하여 사용자의 의도를 반영한 절러 LBS에 쉽게 응용이 될 수 있다.

A Study on the Influential Factor of the Formation of Psychological Ownership on Personal Information (개인정보 소유감을 형성하는 영향 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Since there are growing concerns regarding personal information, users have perceived the importance of it. It makes users try to manage and control personal information by their own intentions. Therefore, we assume users now have begun to perceive psychological ownership on personal information. A main objective of this study is to identitythe relationship between accountability, self-identity, self-efficacy and sense of belongingness and psychological ownership on personal information. We conduct an online-basedsurvey and establish a structural equation model for testing hypothesis. The results show that users' accountability, self-identity and sense of belongingness positively influence to psychological ownership on personal information. Additionally, users' perceived psychological ownership on personal information increase their concern for information privacy. This study suggests a new concept as 'perceived psychological ownership on personal information' to explain for intentions of their psychological possessions toward personal information. The findings of this study can provide a way for how firms have to require clients' personal information with increasing their satisfactions.

  • There has been active discussions on informational view among various privacy perspectives because of Internet usage. Social science research has largely discussed determinants of information privacy concerns (IPC) and its behavioral outcomes. However, the focus of studies was limited to company's practices and existing studies have not reported consistent results. In addition, the relationship between demographic characteristics of user and IPC has not been discussed enough. In this study, we re-investigate the relationship between users' demographic characteristics and IPC with data from a large sample provided by the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI). The results showed that educational background and income level have effects on IPC in line with existing studies. But the effects of gender and age had different impact on IPC compared to previous studies. This study has implications in enabling generalization of empirical findings and confirming the results of previous studies.

  • In the age of information overload such as Internet of Things(IoT), big data, and cloud computing, Data and informations are collected to processed regardless of the individual's will. The purpose of this paper presents a model related to personal information overlord, information privacy risk, information privacy concern (collection, control, awareness) and personal information privacy protective response. The results of this study is summarized as follows. First, personal information overload significantly affects information privacy risk. Second, personal information overload significantly affects information privacy concern(collection, control, awareness) Third, information privacy risk significantly affects collection and awareness among information privacy concern, but control does not significantly affects. This results shows that users are cognitively aware the information risk through collection and awareness of information. Users can not control information by self, control of information does not affects. Last, information privacy concern(collection and awareness significantly affect information privacy protective response, but information privacy concern (control) does not affect. Personal information users are concerned about information infringement due to excessive personal information, ability to protect private information became strong.

  • 최근 의학 기술이 눈부시게 발전함에 따라 사람들은 수명이 연장되고 삶의 질 향상에 많은 관심을 가지게 되었다. 더욱이 혁신적인 디지털 기술 발전과 함께 다양한 웨어러블 기기와 수많은 헬스케어 어플리케이션이 출시되고 있으며, 이들은 어떻게 하면 개인의 성향이나 체질에 잘 맞는 맞춤형 (개인화) 서비스를 제공할 수 있을 것인가에 관심을 두고 진화하고 있다. 따라서 IoT 환경의 일상생활에서 입력되는 센서 데이터의 수집, 처리, 가공 기술, 일상 행위 및 라이프 스타일 인지, 지식 획득 및 관리 기술, 개인화 추천서비스 제공, 프라이버시 및 보안을 통합적으로 지원할 수 있는 프레임워크 개발에 대한 요구가 증대되고 있다. 이에 본 고에서는 저자가 개발중인 개인 맞춤 건강 및 웰니스 서비스를 제공하는 마이닝 마인즈 프레임워크를 소개한다. 마이닝 마인즈는 현존하는 최신 기술의 집약체로 개인화, 큐레이션, 빅 데이터 처리, 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 활용, 다양한 센서 정보의 수집과 분석, 진화형 지식의 생성과 관리, UI/UX를 통한 습관화 유도 등 다양한 요소를 포함한다. 그리고 건강 및 웰니스 프레임워크 요구사항 분석을 통해 마이닝 마인즈가 이러한 요구를 충족시킬 수 있으며, 개발된 프로토타입을 통해 개인화 서비스의 발전 가능성을 입증하고 향후 나아가야 할 방향을 제시한다.

A Study on Continued Intention of Social Network Services by Applying Privacy Calculus Model: Facebook and KakaoTalk Cases (프라이버시 계산 모형을 적용한 SNS 지속 사용 의도에 대한 연구: 페이스북과 카카오톡 사례 중심으로)

  • Given the proliferation of social network services, it has become important to understand its user's continued use behavior. As users' privacy concerns in SNS have been identified as a critical barrier against forming this continued intention, many studies have focused on inducing continued intention by mitigating privacy concerns. However, this paper suggests to approach users' continued intention not only from the perspective of mitigating privacy concerns but also from the perspective of increasing potential benefits. Under the theoretical framework of privacy calculus model, we conducted cross sectional survey on 150 Facebook and 150 KakaoTalk users. The result suggests that trust mediates the relationships between privacy concerns and continued intention and between network externality and continued intention, and the influence of support for network formation on continued intention. The effect of network externality on continued intention, however, is not significant among Facebook users while it is significant among KakaoTalk users.

The Effect of Privacy Concerns on Using Mobile Payment Services: Moderating Effect of Multidimensional Consumer Innovativeness (프라이버시 우려가 모바일 간편결제 서비스 이용에 미치는 영향: 소비자 혁신성의 다차원적 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of privacy concerns on the use of mobile payment services. In particular, paying attention to the multidimensionality of consumer innovation, we analyzed the effects of hierarchical logistic regression by gender. The results show that there is a positive (+) relationship for hedonic innovativeness regardless of gender, and that there is a negative (-) relationship for functional innovativeness overall and in the female group. In all groups regardless of gender, a positive (+) relationship was found for the hedonic innovativeness, and one negative (-) relationship was found in the functional innovativeness overall group and the female group. Second, in the male group, there is a moderating effect of privacy concerns and functional innovativeness. This suggests that the relationship between privacy concerns and the usage of mobile payment services may vary depending on functional innovativeness. This study is useful in that it can explain and predict consumers' patterns of use of new technology-based services in various and balanced ways by taking privacy concerns and multidimensional consumer innovation into consideration. In addition, it suggests that mobile payment companies should make efforts to ensure that their services are secure, useful, and fun to use so that consumers can feel confident using the services in various situations.

A Study on Legal Regulation of Neural Data and Neuro-rights (뇌신경 데이터의 법적 규율과 뇌신경권에 관한 소고)

  • This paper examines discussions surrounding cognitive liberty, neuro-privacy, and mental integrity from the perspective of Neuro-rights. The right to control one's neurological data entails self-determination of collection and usage of one's data, and the right to object to any way such data may be employed to negatively impact oneself. As innovations in neurotechnologies bear benefits and downsides, a novel concept of the neuro-rights has been suggested to protect individual liberty and rights. In Oct. 2020, the Chilean Senate presented the 'Proyecto de ley sobre neuroderechos' to promote the recognition and protection of neuro-rights. This new bill defines all data obtained from the brain as neuronal data and outlaws the commerce of this data. Neurotechnology, especially when paired with big data and artificial intelligence, has the potential to turn one's neurological state into data. The possibility of inferring one's intent, preferences, personality, memory, emotions, and so on, poses harm to individual liberty and rights. However, the collection and use of neural data may outpace legislative innovation in the near future. Legal protection of neural data and the rights of its subject must be established in a comprehensive way, to adapt to the evolving data economy and technical environment.

  • PRBAC모델은 RBAC(Role Based Access Control) 모델에 조건(condition), 목적(purpose), 의무(obligation)개념을 포함시킴으로써 프라이버시를 강화한 모델이다. 그러나 조건 표현 내에 산술연산 기능을 지원하지 못한다고 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는, 프라이버시를 보호하는 쇼핑몰 홈페이지를 구현하는 것을 목표로, 이 중 PRBAC모델을 XML로 구현하고 이를 Java와 연동함으로써 산술연산 기능을 지원하는 방안과, 홈페이지 코드와 데이터베이스를 연결하는 부분에 대한 연구결과를 소개한다.

An Investigation of a Role of Affective factors in Users' Coping with Privacy Risk from Location-based Services (위치기반 서비스(Location-based Service)의 프라이버시 위험 대응에 있어 사용자 감정(Affect)의 역할)

  • Despite empirical research that the response to human risk is significantly influenced affective factors, the role of affective factors has been unexplored in information privacy research. This study aims to explore the privacy behaviors of location-based service (LBS) users from an affective point of view. Specifically, the study explored the relationship between three types of privacy threats (collection, hacking, secondary use), two affects (worry, anger), and a coping behavior (continuous use intentions). The structured survey was conducted with 552 users. In order to analyze the effect of the combination of perception of particular privacy threats and particular affects on the intention of continuous use, association rules, one of the data mining techniques, was employed. As a result, there was a difference in the intention to use according to the combination of the perception of risk and affect responses, and the most significant influence on the intention is when the second use of personal information was combined with anger. This study has significant theoretical contribution in that it includes affective factors in the research of information privacy users, complementing the biases of existing cognition-oriented approaches and providing a comprehensive understanding of privacy response behavior.
