The Perception of Pre-service English Teachers' use of AI Translation Tools in EFL Writing (영작문 도구로서의 인공지능번역 활용에 대한 초등예비교사의 인식연구)

  • With the recent rise in the use of AI-based online translation tools, interest in their methods and effects on education has grown. This study involved 30 prospective elementary school teachers who completed an English writing task using an AI-based online translation tool. The study focused on assessing the impact of these tools on English writing skills and their practical applications. It examined the usability, educational value, and the advantages and disadvantages of the AI translation tool. Through data collected via writing tests, surveys, and interviews, the study revealed that the use of translation tools positively affects English writing skills. From the learners' perspective, these tools were perceived to provide support and convenience for learning. However, there was also recognition of the need for educational strategies to effectively use these tools, alongside concerns about methods to enhance the completeness or accuracy of translations and the potential for over-reliance on the tools. The study concluded that for effective utilization of translation tools, the implementation of educational strategies and the role of the teacher are crucial.

A Study on Pre Service Teacher's Information availability and Concern & Perception of Coding Education for Young Children (예비유아교사의 정보활용능력과 코딩교육에 대한 관심도 및 인식에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigated of the pre service teacher's information availability and concern and perception of coding education for young children. The subjects were 230 pre service teacher attending a A college micro politan city Questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed by ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis with SPSS Program. The results were as follows: First, the pre service teacher's information availability was smart phone usage levels that the most of all and the next was computer usage levels. Concern of coding education for young children that consequence concern was the highest and the next that collaboration concern, personal concern, information concern, refocusing concern, management concern. The other side unconcerned was most of least. Perception of coding education for young children that necessity perception, content perception, environmental perception was the over of mean. But operational perception was the low. Second, The information awareness, smart phone usage levels as each domain of information ability, usefulness of use was positively associated with Personal concern. But the information ability were negatively correlated with management concern. The information awareness was associated with necessity of coding education. The useful and ease of use of education were positively associated with content coding education.

Students' and Teachers' Perception on the Roles and Qualifications of Teacher Librarians based on the Semantic Network Analysis (언어네트워크 분석을 통한 사서교사 역할 및 자질에 대한 학생과 교사의 인식 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the students' and teachers' perception about the roles and qualifications of teacher librarians. For this purpose, data were collected through survey from students and teachers at secondary schools and the data were analyzed by semantic network analysis. The results of the research are as follows: First, students usually perceived the role of teacher librarians as 'library management', and teachers did as 'reading education'. Second, among the roles of teacher librarians, it was confirmed that students' and teachers' perceptions of 'information literacy instruction and library instruction' were very weak. Third, while the students' perception of the role of a teacher librarian as a 'teaching collaborator' such as 'teaching and learning support' and 'library assisted instruction and collaborative instruction' was weak, teachers recognized the role of teacher librarians as 'teaching collaborators'. Fourth, students and teachers perceived high levels of 'information service', which consists of 'book recommendation and guide activities'. Finally, it was investigated that 'professionalism' plays a central role in the students' and teachers' perception about the qualities of teacher librarians. These results can be used to establish the role of teacher librarians, develop response strategies for students and teachers, and improve their awareness.

A study on Consumer Awareness and Preference on the Coordination Using Recycled Material in Dining Space (재활용(Re-cycling) 소재를 이용한 식공간 연출에 대한 소비자의 인식 및 선호도 연구)

  • The study is based on the serious environmental problems occurring these days to acknowledge the consumers awareness and preference according with the coordination using recycled materials in the dining space. As the result, considered the consumers had lack in recognition of using recycled materials when they tried to use them in their normal daily life. Also the females were far more interested than the males with the usage of the recycled materials inside the restaurant and its interior image along with married persons had more positive attitude towards it than the unmarried ones. With education back ground, highly educated peoples really quite didn't prefer the usage of the recycled materials. According with the income, the high earnings and with the occupation, the professionals with specialized jobs considered the practical use of aspects more important than above. Therefore the needs to educate and promote the consumers to use recycled materials in their every day lives, it is required to build social responsibility and finding the essential meanings to save resources so that they can utilize them with converted recognitions.

  • 현재의 유비쿼터스 환경의 홈 네트워크 제품 사용자는 단일 사용자가 아닌 다수의 사용자가 사용하는 네트워크 행태를 취하고 있다. 변화하는 사용환경과 시스템들은 현재와는 다른 요구사항을 가지고 있으며, 이에 따른 사용자 중심의 디자인과 제품 인터페이스 체계의 연구활동은 국내외에서 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 다양한 모바일 디바이스 및 홈 네트워크 제품의 보급화가 빠르게 성장하면서 이를 쉽게 제어하기 위한 다양한 제어방식이 연구되고 있다. 이중 음성인식기술을 비롯한 표정은 안면표정인식기술의 개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 모션감지 센서를 활용한 사용자 제스처 콘트롤 체계는 아직까지는 초보적인 단계에 있으나, 제품 제어에 있어서 향후 근미래에는 자연스러운 인터랙티브 인터페이스의 활용도가 높아질 전망이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 효과적인 디바이스 제어를 위한 제스처 유형의 자연스러운 사용언어체계 개발 방법 및 결과 그리고 사용자 맨탈모델와 메타포 실험을 통한 연구내용을 정리하였다. 기존 사용자의 제스처 유형의 자연스러운 사용언어를 분석하면서 디바이스 제어방식으로서 활용 가능성을 검토할 수 있었으며, 동작 감지 카메라 및 센서를 활용한 새로운 디바이스 제어방식 개발과정의 연구를 통하여 제스처 유형의 자연스러운 언어 체계 개발 및 과정을 정립하였다.

An analysis of perceptions of elementary teachers and secondary mathematics teachers on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in mathematics education (수학교육에서 인공지능 활용에 대한 초등 교사와 중등 수학 교사의 인식 분석)

  • One of the important factors for the effective implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in mathematics education is the perceptions of the teachers who adopt it. This study surveyed 161 elementary school teachers and 157 secondary mathematics teachers on their perceptions of using AI in mathematics education, grouped into four categories: attitude toward using AI, AI for teaching mathematics, AI for learning mathematics, and AI for assessing mathematics. The findings showed that teachers were most positive about using AI for teaching and learning mathematics, whereas their attitudes towards using AI were less favorable. In addition, elementary school teachers demonstrated a higher positive response rate across all categories compared to secondary mathematics teachers, who exhibited more neutral perceptions. Based on the results, we discussed the pedagogical implications for teachers to effectively use AI in mathematics education.

The effect of Attributes of Exercise/Fitness Apps on App Usage: A Convergence Perspective Based on the Self-Determination Theory (운동/피트니스앱 속성이 앱 활용에 미치는 영향: 자기결정성 이론을 기반으로 한 융복합적 관점에서의 탐구)

  • The present study explored how 1) individuals' perception about attributes of exercise/fitness apps and 2) their motivation for exercise/fitness behaviors influence perceived usefulness and usage of the apps. A survey of 323 males and females in their 20's and 30's revealed that attributes of apps that satisfy their basic psychological needs are crucial in promoting perceived usefulness and usage of the apps. Participants were more likely to perceive exercise/fitness apps useful as they perceive them having more attributes related to autonomy and competence. The perception regarding relatedness attributes did not have the main effect on perceived usefulness but showed an interaction effect with relative autonomous motivation. This convergence study which examined health apps from the perspectives of psychology and public health provides practical implications to development and evaluation of health apps.

  • 거동이 불편한 사람의 경우 직접적인 제어보다 손동작으로 간접적인 제어를 함으로써 생활에 어려움이 줄고 편리한 사용이 가능하다. 사람을 인식 후 판단하고 제어가 가능할 뿐만 아니라 손동작 인식이 가능한 선풍기가 사람들에게 더 편하게 활용되고, 간단한 동작으로 제어할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 Mediapipe를 활용하여 간단한 손동작을 바탕으로 실시간으로 풍속을 제어하고 사람을 인식하는 기능을 제공한다. 야외나 에어컨이 없는 장소의 경우 SLAM을 활용해 주행이 가능한 이동식 선풍기를 개발했다. 기존의 선풍기의 직접적인 조작 제어가 불편한 것이 누구나 쉽게 간단한 손동작을 통해 먼 거리에서의 인식을 통한 제어와 이동 기능이 기존 기능에 비해 향상됨을 기대할 수 있다.

An Approach for Efficient Handwritten Word Recognition Using Dynamic Programming Matching (동적 프로그래밍 정합을 이용한 효율적인 필기 단어 인식 방법)

  • This paper proposes an efficient handwritten English word recognition scheme which can be applied practical applications. To effectively use the lexicon which is available in most handwriting related applications, the lexicon entries are introduced in the early stage of the recognition. Dynamic programming is used for matching between over-segmented character segments and letters in the lexicon entries. Character segmentation statistics which can be obtained while the training is being performed are used to adjust the matching window size. Also, the matching results between the character segments and the letters in the lexicon entries are cached to avoid repeat of the same computation. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods, several experiments were performed using thousands of word images with various writing styles. The results show that the proposed methods significantly improve the matching speed as well as the accuracy.

Analysis of effect of Invention Education program using the Hands-on robots (Hands-on robots을 활용한 발명교육프로그램 효과 분석)

  • In this study, the effectiveness of the education program was analyzed through the invention education program using Hands-on Robots, the change of perception of invention and robots of primary and secondary students. The results of the study were as follows: there were many differences in robots that students recognized before and after education, and the change was noticeable in lower grades. In addition, perception of inventions included many robots after they were trained, compared to the fact that robots were not included before they were learned. There has also been a change in attitudes toward robots and their attitude toward inventions, which was more pronounced in the lower grades. By doing so, it can be analyzed that the invention education program using Hands-on robots is effective in giving elementary and secondary students a change in their perception of inventions and robots.
