Stream ecosystems are highly valued natural resources, however, stream environments are currently under threat in several respects. We evaluated vegetation and ecological characteristics according to different revetment types. The distribution of vegetation differed with revetment type, with a 42~45 taxa found in natural revetments, and 23~38 taxa in vertical revetments. Thus, natural revetments host more diverse vegetation than vertical revetments. We also found more plants belonging to the families Labiatae and Cyperaceae growing in natural revetments than in vertical revetments. We proposed that habitat space be apportioned to introduce annual plants as part of stream restoration projects. And, we identified 7 families and 18 taxa of naturalized plants, majority taxa were either biennial or perennial. Moreover, naturalized ratio was higher in vertical(14.3%) than natural(12.1%), we proposed a plan to promote and improve natural streams and revetments. Furthermore, we applied a waterfront evaluation method developed by the Natural Resources Conservation Service of the USDA-NRCS, which confirmed that stream health can be improved in most regions by controlling naturalized plants and ensuring shrub and tree growth. We adopted a new method to remove naturalized plants and establish natural revetments to ensure shrub and tree growth to aid in small-stream restoration and improvement. In future studies, we hope to develop methods for small-stream restoration projects in rural areas.

To identify the effect of fallen cherry blossom on the artificial pond ecosystem, microcosm experiment was conducted into the aquatic decomposition of Prunus species petals. Petals were put in $1mm^2$ mesh nylon litter bags. For treatment group, one flower litter bag was placed into each pot microcosm ($27{\times}20{\times}8cm^3$) filled with influent water from the artificial pond, whereas control group microcosm contained pond water only. Decomposition time were set differently (4, 8, 12, 16 days) among treatment groups. At the end of experiment, most petals were decomposed and only 32.3% of initial dry weight remained with the decay rate (k) of $7.06{\times}10^{-2}day^{-1}$. $NO_3-N$ concentration of microcosm water decreased sharply from 1.90 mg/L at first to 0.02 mg/L, whereas $NH_4-N$ concentration increased from 0.03 mg/L to 2.85 mg/L continually. $PO_4-P$ concentration was 0.03 mg/L at first and increased to 2.39 mg/L by decomposition. Therefore, available phosphorus seems to have leached with higher rate than nitrogen from the petals litter. Increase about 0.02 mg/L in $PO_4-P$ concentration could be estimated in artificial pond from the calculation on the total quantity of fallen blossoms. This result suggests that available phosphorus from the decomposed Prunus petals could cause eutrophication in the artificial pond.

In this study, we prepared lignocellulosic artificial soil that contains Bacillus subtilis (peat moss/perlite/ steam-exploded oak wood/microbial culture = 3:1:3:3, w/w/w/w) for use in the restoration of damaged soil areas. The prepared lignocellulosic artificial soil was mixed with soil at ratios of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. These mixed soils were then applied to fields, and the resultant physicochemical properties and their effects on the plant growth of Lespedeza cyrtobotrya were observed. The mixture of the prepared artificial soils (mixed at ratios of 25%-100%) with soil had a bulk densities of <$0.04g/cm^3$, porosities of >85%, pH values between 4.3 and 4.7, electrical conductivities of <0.5 dS/m, C/N ratios between 15.0 and 26.5, organic matter content between 23.6% and 43.2%, and bacterial densities between $157{\times}10^6$ and $624{\times}10^6CFU/g$. In addition, the prepared artificial soils mixed with soil at ratios of 25%-50% exhibited higher plant growth rates for L. cyrtobotrya compared with the control. Overall, we identified positive correlations between the plant growth of L. cyrtobotrya and soil bulk density, porosity, water-holding capacity, C/N ratio, organic matter, and bacterial densities.

The purpose of this research is to develop a creative education program that utilizes AI education program based on big data for general education high schools, and to investigate its effectiveness. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, we developed a creative education program using artificial intelligence based on big data for first-year general high school students, and carried out on-site classes at schools and a validation process by experts. In order to measure the creative problem-solving ability and class satisfaction of high school students, a creative problem-solving ability test was conducted before and after the program application, and a class satisfaction test was conducted after the program. The results of this study are as follows. First, AI education program based on big data were statistically effective to improve the creative problem solving ability according to independent sample t test about 'problem discovery and analysis', 'idea generation', 'execution plan', 'conviction and communication', and 'innovation tendency' except 'execution', 'the difference between pre- and post-scores of male student and female student' on first year high school students. Secondly, in satisfaction conducted after classes of AI education program based on big data, the average of 'Satisfaction', 'Interest', 'Participation', 'Persistence' were 3.56 to 3.92, and the overall average was 3.78. Therefore, it was investigated that there was a lesson effect of the AI education program based on big data developed in this research.
Alignment of the mirrors composing a space telescope is an important process for obtaining high optical resolution and performance of the camera system. The alignment of mirrors using cube mirrors requires a relative coordinate mapping between the mirror and the cube mirror before optical-system integration. Therefore, to align the spacecraft camera mirrors, the relative coordinates of the vertex of each mirror and the corresponding cube mirror must be accurately measured. This paper proposes a new method for finding the vertex position of a primary mirror, by using an optical fiber and alignment segments of a computer-generated hologram (CGH). The measurement system is composed of an optical testing interferometer and a multimode optical fiber. We used two theodolites to measure the relative coordinates of the optical fiber located at the mirror vertex with respect to the cube mirror, and achieved a measurement precision of better than $25{\mu}m$.

Most mission trajectory design technologies for space exploration have been utilized the Patched Conic Approximation which is based on Hohmann transfer in two-body problem. The Hohmann transfer trajectory is basically an elliptic trajectory, and Patched Conic Approximation consists of Hohmann transfer trajectories in which each trajectory are patched to the next one. This technology is the most efficient method when considering only one major planet at each patch trajectory design. The disadvantages of the conventional Patched Conic Approach are more fuel (or mass) needed and only conic trajectories are designed. Recent space exploration missions need to satisfy more various scientific or engineering goals, and mission utilizing smaller satellites are needed for cost reduction. The geometrical characteristics of three-body dynamics could change the paradigm of the conventional solar system. In this theoretical concept, one can design a trajectory connecting around the solar system with comparably very small energy. In this paper, the basic three-body dynamics are introduced and a spacecraft mission trajectory is designed utilizing the three-body dynamics.
Purpose: Multi-drug resistant (MR) infections among intensive care unit (ICU) patients with oral intubation and a ventilator are serious nosocomial infections. This study was done to compare the effects of oral care and ventilator circuit on reduction of MR infections. Methods: A total of 92 participants were recruited from an ICU at C University Hospital in G-city, Korea, assigned to one of 4 groups and evaluated: group I received oral care with sponge and reusable circuit; group II received oral care with tooth brush and reusable circuit; group III received oral care with sponge and disposable circuit; group IV received oral care with tooth brush and disposable circuit. Results: Prevalence rate of MR infections was highest in group I (47.8%), followed by group II (30.4%), group IV (19.0%), and group III (13.6%). Of the four groups, group III showed a significantly decreased MR infections (p=.035) and higher possibility of survival rate as time passes according to survival analysis (p=.019). Conclusion: Results of this study indicate that using disposable ventilator circuit significantly decreases MR infections and raises the possibility of a higher survival rate as time passes. According to this study, the use of disposable ventilator circuit is useful in prevention of MR infections.
The aim of this paper is to describe the results of the study on the extreme-ultra-violet (EUV) solar telescope, which is designed to. a possible satellite mission. Since the EUV band can not be observed on the ground, the observation in EUV should be performed in space using a satellite or a rocket. Design of the Extreme-Ultra-Violet solar Telescope (BUVT) in this study is based on "Designing a small-sized engineering model of solar EUV telescope for a Korean satellite" (Han et al. 2001). Our EUVT design is satisfied with the requirements for a satellite in size and input voltage. The major goal of the study is to confirm if we can detect the specific wavelength (58.4nm to 62.9nm) with the EUVT. We describe re-designing of the EUVT to decrease a shelter ratio. Also we describe the technics in the optic system and the detector, which were used to manufacture the EUVT. We explain the detective program, which is to calculate the amount of the solar radiation, and the image data processing system.ng system.
Discrimination between natural earthquakes and man-made explosions is very essential but critical matter in Seismology. In the CTBT Monitoring business, this is very crucial issue and sometimes could occur the international conflict. In this study, we analyzed seismic and infrasound data from Chulwon Seismo-Acoustic Array and would like to introduce routine data processing procedures at the Korea Institute of Geology, Mining and Materials(KIGAM) to discriminate the earthquakes and artificial explosions. We found analyzing acoustic data together with seismic data is very effective way to identify and discriminate man made explosion from natural earthquake. Recent earthquakes in and around the Korean Peninsula are concentrated in a narrow zone with N60-70$^{\circ}$W in southern Korea, and Pyungan and Hwanghae Province in northern Korea. The mechanism of 14 larger earthquakes in and around the Korean Peninsula since 1936 show predominant strike-slip faulting together with minor thrust component. This indicates horizontal compression is dominant in and around the Korean Peninsula.

Scarcity of water worldwide, increasing greenhouse gas emissions, increased energy consumption due to the Earth is threatened. Existing in the process of urban planning and development of forests, rivers and other natural ecosystems have been destroyed and that there was increased impervious pavement. Impervious pavement increase water circulation system to destroy the natural and urban water retention, infiltration and decreased evaporation. Nonpoint source pollution(NPS) occurs when rainfall impervious pavement and appeal directly to the river water inflow is adversely impacts of the situation. In this study, rainfall occurs impervious pavement NPS pollution reduction and temperature increase due to the increase in urban areas, and to solve heat island phenomenon is to develop small HSSF constructed wetland technology. The small HSSF constructed wetland sedimentation, filtration, adsorption, absorption by vegetation, including such mechanisms. Techniques for verification of the pilot-scale test was conducted. In the future domestic urban heat island phenomenon and restore the natural water cycle for the facilities will be used as a basis to develop.
