Analysis of the Current Status of the AI Major Curriculum at Universities Based on Standard of AI Curriculum

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the implications for the systematic operation of the AI curriculum by analyzing the current status of the AI major curriculum in universities. To this end, This study analyzed the relevant curriculum of domestic universities(a total of 51 schools) and overseas QS Top 10 universities based on the industry demand-based standard of AI major curriculum developed through prior research. The main research results are as follows. First, in the case of domestic universities, Python-centered programming subjects were lacking. Second, there were few subjects for advanced learning such as AI application and convergence. Third, the subjects required to perform the AI developer job were insufficient. Fourth, in the case of colleges, the ratio of AI mathematics-related subjects was low. Based on these results, this study presented implications for the systematic operation of the AI major education.

The Effects of Artificial Intelligence Convergence Education using Machine Learning Platform on STEAM Literacy and Learning Flow

  • In this paper, the effect of artificial intelligence convergence education program that provides STEAM education using machine learning platform on elementary school students' STEAM literacy and learning flow was analyzed. A homogeneous group of 44 elementary school 6th graders was divided into an experimental group and a control group. The control group received 10 lessons of general subject convergence class, and the experimental group received 10 lessons of STEAM-based artificial intelligence convergence education using Machine learning for Kids. To develop the artificial intelligence convergence education program, the goals, achievement standards, and content elements of the 2015 revised curriculum to select subjects and class contents is analyzed. As a result of the STEAM literacy test and the learning flow test, there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group. In particular, it can be confirmed that the coding environment in which the artificial intelligence function is expanded has a positive effect on learners' learning flow and STEAM literacy. Among the sub-elements of convergence talent literacy, significant differences were found in the areas of personal competence such as convergence and creativity. Among the sub-elements of learning flow, significant differences were found in the areas such as harmony of challenge and ability, clear goals, focus on tasks, and self-purposed experiences. If further expanded research is conducted in the future, it will be a basic research for more effective education for the future.

  • 본 논문에서는 효율적인 AI 교육을 위한 데이터셋 아카이브와 데이터 활용을 위한 프로그래밍 플랫폼과의 연동 모듈을 제안한다. 데이터셋 아카이브는 공공데이터를 전처리하여 생성한 데이터를 모아 설계하며, 프로그래밍 플랫폼 코드비(CodeB)와 연동하여 데이터를 활용할 수 있도록 한다. 코드비(CodeB)는 파이썬 블록 프로그래밍 플랫폼으로 연동을 통해 데이터를 활용한 프로그래밍이 가능하다.

Analysis of Effects of Convergence Education Program about State Classification of the Matters using Machine Learning for Pre-service Teachers (예비교사를 위한 머신러닝 활용 물질의 상태 분류에 대한 융합교육 프로그램의 효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and analyze the effects of an educational program that can cultivate artificial intelligence(AI) convergence education competency for future education and enhance students' understanding of pre-service teachers. For this end, an AI convergence education program using Machine Learning for Kids and Scratch 3 was developed for 15 weeks under the theme of classifying the state of matter. The developed program were treated by K University pre-service teachers who participated voluntarily. As a result, pre-service teachers were able to metaphorically understand the learning process of students through understanding of machine learning training process. In addition, the pre-post t-test result of AI teaching efficacy showed a statistically significant improvement with t=-7.137 (p<.000). Therefore, it is suggested that the AI convergence education program developed in this study can help to increase the understanding of the pre-service teacher's students in an indirect way other than practice teaching, and can contribute to foster AI education competency.

The Method of Moral Education in the Age of Transhumanism (트랜스휴머니즘 시대의 도덕교육방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to elucidate on moral education's direction in the age of transhumanism. For transhumanism's moral education, I suggest a genetically modified plan, moral artificial intelligence method, and pharmacological method for moral bio-enhancement. I also suggest a plan for anti-transhumanism's moral education. Anti-transhumanism as a position in the ethical debate on human enhancement makes two main claims. One is a moral claim that human enhancement may disregard or violate something intrinsically valuable about human nature. The other is a political claim that human enhancement should be banned or severely restricted. In this article, I try to make a critical evaluation of transhumanism and anti-transhumanism. For this aim, I critically analyze the logic of both. Finally I argue that transhumanism's moral education has technological strengths and ethical weaknesses. But transhumanism's moral education can overcome the ethical weakness through human enhancement debate and real possibility. Anti-transhumanism's moral education needs to make significant influence through traditional education.

Design of a Hopeful Career Forecasting Program for the Career Education (진로교육을 위한 희망진로 예측프로그램 설계)

  • In the wake of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the problem of career education in schools has become a big issue. While various studies are being conducted on services or technologies to effectively handle artificial intelligence and big data, in the field of education, data on students is simply processed. Therefore, in this paper, we are going to design and present career prediction programs for students using artificial intelligence and big data. Using observational data from students at the institute, the decision tree is constructed with the C4.5 algorithm known to be most intelligent and effective in the decision tree and is used to predict students' path of hope. As a result, the coefficient of kappa exceeded 0.7 and showed a fairly low average error of 0.1 degrees. As shown in this study, a number of studies and data will be deployed to help guide students in their consultation and to provide them with classroom attitudes and directions.

Education Plan of Artificial Intelligence Programming using Raspberry Pi for Computer Major Students of Industrial Specialized High Schools (공업계 특성화고등학교 컴퓨터 전공 학생들을 위한 라즈베리파이 활용 인공지능 프로그래밍 교육 방안)

  • In this study, we proposed a plan to educate computer students at industrial specialized high schools about artificial intelligence programming using Raspberry Pi. To create an educational program, we received advice from experts working in schools and industries, analyzed existing research and requirements, designed weekly learning plans, developed teaching materials, and conducted classes. Due to the small number of research subjects, interviews were conducted with students, and the results of the teacher's diary were also presented to derive qualitative research results. The main interview results show that although it is true that interest in the field of artificial intelligence has increased through the class, many responded that the learning content is still difficult. The teacher's diary mainly included information about the latest trends in the industry that informatics and computer teachers should not miss out on. We hope that this study will provide an opportunity to meet the needs of the industry by increasing the proportion of artificial intelligence programming in industrial specialized high schools.

A case study of understanding the embodied metaphors for AI education (인공지능 교육을 위한 체화된 메타포 이해 : 언플러그드 활동을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the educational context including the actual learning process and learner perception using the embodied metaphor in AI education. To this end, a class was designed to utilize the embodied metaphor-based unplugged activity through a qualitative approach. Matrix analysis technique was used to analyze the data collected throughout the course of the class to analyze the experiences and perceptions according to the characteristics of the learner, and the learning context. The results of the study were: First, there was a difference according to the learner's prior experience in the effect on the representative knowledge and the subsequent practice process. Next, the embodied metaphor-based unplugged activity showed soft landing effects on practice and text coding. Finally, the organic integration of unplugged and plugged-in classes helped learners understand the potential of computational thinking.

  • The goal of this paper is to propose the use of machine learning platforms in education to train learners to recognize data biases. Learners can cultivate the ability to recognize when learners deal with AI data and systems when they want to prevent damage caused by data bias. Specifically, this paper presents a method of data bias education using MachineLearningforKids, focusing on the case of AI baseball referee. Learners take the steps of selecting a specific topic, reviewing prior research, inputting biased/unbiased data on a machine learning platform, composing test data, comparing the results of machine learning, and present implications. Learners can learn that AI data bias should be minimized and the impact of data collection and selection on society. This learning method has the significance of promoting the ease of problem-based self-directed learning, the possibility of combining with coding education, and the combination of humanities and social topics with artificial intelligence literacy.
