표본의 크기가 작을 경우에 이항분포의 모수에 대한 신뢰구간을 구하는 대표적인 방법으로는 Clopper-Pearson 방법과 Blyth-Still 방법이 있다. Clopper-Pearson 방법에 의한 신뢰구간은 이항 모수가 포함되는 커버리지 확률이 목표로 하는 신뢰수준보다 상대적으로 크다는 문제점이 있다. Blyth-Still 방법은 이러한 문제점을 개선시켰다. 그러나, Blyth-Still에 의해서 표로 보고된 신뢰구간을 적용할 경우 표본의 크기와 이항 모수의 값에 따라서 커버리지 확률이 목표하는 신뢰수준보다 작은 경우가 발생한다. 그러나, 이는 Blyth-Still 방법 자체의 문제점이 아니며 단지 보고된 표의 유의한 소수점 자릿수와 관계가 있다. 본 논문은 Blyth-Still 방법에 의한 좀 더 정확한 신뢰구간을 제시한다.

In this paper, we proposed three types of binomial filter for spectrum sensing in cognitive radio system. Three filters are binomial, negative binomial and composite binomial filters and the frequency responses of their transfer functions are analyzed and the numbers of stages to meet the required attenuation are driven. As a result of performance analysis in terms of the number of stages, negative and composite binomial filters are superior to the binomial filter. Since the proposed three filters have a unified cascaded structure and are easy to be implemented without any multiplier, it is expected that they will have wide applications.

Lee Hang Ro's Mind-theory(心說) is an important theory comparable to it of Gi Jeong Jin, Lee Jin Sang and Jeon Woo. In this paper, I examined the influence of the Western-school(西學) in the process of formation of Lee's theory. Since the Western-school had flowed in the beginning of the 17th century, in the 18th century it was subject to Confucian intellectuals along with social stability. However, listed in the 19th century, along with the turmoil of the East Asian international order, the Western-school was also rejected. The Western-school was a tool to analyze the cause of Western invasion(西勢東漸) in him. Lee saw The Western-school from the standpoint of Christianity mainly. Especially Christianity was recognized as a religion that emphasizes God rather than humans. In contrast, Confucianism was understood as a thought system that emphasizes human moral subjectivity rather than God. In this process mind was expanded to the subjectivity of human. However, Lee only emphasized the traditional Confucianism order and ignored the rationality of the Western-school. He could not accommodate western civilization actively and properly respond to the world order in that time. On the other hand, we are now in the era of a new civilization called the Fourth Industrial Revolution. To this the remarks of Lee's Mind-theory will be an important suggestion point for organizing the new civilization actively.

The interval estimation for binomial proportion has been treated practically as well as theoretically for a long time. In this paper we compared the properties of major confidence intervals and summarized current issues for coverage probability and interval length which are the criteria of evaluation for confidence interval. Additionally, we examined the three topics which were considered in using the binomial confidence interval in the field. And finally we discussed the future studies for a low binomial proportion.

IAEA(International Atomic Energy Agency, 국제원자력기구)에서는 사찰활동 수행시, 비복원추출을 기술하는 초기 하분포(hypergeometric distribution) 대신 복원추출을 기술하는 이항분포(binomial distribution)를 사용하여 표본크기 (sample site)를 계산하여 최대 3가지 검증방법들에 할당한다. 본 연구에서는 사찰표본할당과 관련하여 PC사용이 요구되는 반복할당법인 초기하할당법, 개선된 이항할당법, 그리고 표준할당법과 포켓계산기에서 사용 가능한 근사 할당법인 개선된 이항할당근사법과 표준이항할당근사법을 비교 검토하였다.

Until now, I guess, many scholars misunderstood the characteristic of economic awareness of Yi Hang-no as if it was a modern nationalism or radicalism against Japanese anti-Korean insistences. But I think these opinions are out of historical attitude. So to understand Yi's economic awareness correctly, I think, We should focus on the traditional Confucian thought system at that time. As one method to reach the goal, I focused on the word, Jeong-jeon-je: Oriental equal land system. Yi Hang-no put the importance on Jeong-jeon-je to make utopia he dreamed of. Yi thought Jeong-jeon-je is the basis of equal society and strong state. Also Yi thought a moral society would be achieved by Jeong-jeon-je because the equal land system, so called Jeong-jeon-je provide peasants with equal lands, so it makes peasants stable in economic situation. Especially, Yi Hang-no put importance on that Jeong-jeon-je would raise moral consciousness of people because equal economic condition makes people wealthy, so people would be good men naturally. Yi Hang-no explain it in basis of Insim-Dosim-seol: a theory of two minds bad & good to be. Yi Hang-no thought equal economic condition is the basis of making people moral being. He thought Jeong-jeon-je was a basis of the condition. Reversely, Yi thought Western insists of trade was the beginning of making people fight for individual benefit, so it produces devil selfishness out of human mind. That was the reason that Yi Hang-no opposed the trade with Western Powers. Eventually Yi's assertion of embargo came out of his Insim-Dosim-seol. In this context, Yi's Jeong-jeon-je was insisted as a method to raise human moral consciousness.

Yi, Hang-no said that taiji(=li) was Myeong-deok(illustrious virtue), the core of mind and heart, emphasizing the sides of superintendent and mysterious ability of li. It seems that he aimed to stress the upper status of li than qi, out of earlier general theory on mind and heart recognizing both li and qi consisted in the mind and heart. Through it, he wanted to say that only human being had moral mind like taiji and upper moral status than animals which human being should keep. The reason that Yi, Hang-no emphasized the difference between li and qi was because of a critical mind that the upper value of li than qi should not be changed and it would be the most dangerous situation if the value collapsed. Like this, Yi, Hang-no's attitude emphasizing li in his theory of mind and heart eventually aimed to explain the theory of Insim(Desire to be) and Dosim(Moral Mind). Yi, Hang-no's disciples testified that their teacher, Yi, Hang-no had cost his whole life to study the theory of Insim and Dosim. This means that Yi, Hang-no had tried to discriminate between Insim and Dosim, and to block private desires in Insim. The fact that Yi, Hang-no stressed the importance of the theory of Insim and Dosim had to do with the special situation that Western Power approached Joseon dynasty. Because Yi, Hang-no opposed the Westerner's moral consciousness for individual desires, against heavenly orders. To overcome the Western challenge, Yi, Hang-no strived to notice that taiji was the core of human mind. The point that Yi, Hang-no wanted to say was that Dosim(Moral Mind) was just the heavenly orders which human being couldn't disobey. Yi, Hang-no thought that Joseon couldn't defence Western flow without this theory of Insim and Dosim. Just after French invasion(1866), Yi, Hang-no was selected as a high-leveled bureaucrat, so he insisted his opinions for rejecting heterodoxy by the letters to the throne several times. The letters also contained his theory of Insim and Dosim mainly. Insisting fight against Western Power and prohibition of trade with Western Power, Yi, Hang-no eventually emphasized the king's right mind(Dosim) as a main and sole means to achieve all the goals he said. In conclusion, Yi, Hang-no's theory on mind and heart was as it is reflected in his letters to the throne. Therefore we can see that Yi, Hang-no's theory on mind and heart had harmonized with his movement to "Rejecting Heterodoxy".

혼합이항모형은 생물학, 혹은 심리학분야에서 많이 다루는 모형이다. 이 혼합모형에서 진단자간의 일치도를 나타내는 k 는 이항모형에 혼합되어지는 사전분포 $\xi$(p)에 따라 다른 형태를 갖는다. 그래서 $\xi$(p)에 의존적이지 않은 모수를 정의 하고, 이에 대한 실증적 추정값 $\hat k$을 일반혼합이항모형에서 k에 대한 추정값으로 사용하였다. 매개모수의 영향을 줄이기 위하여 모수를 직교화하였다. 베타이항모형으로 부터 표본을 추출하여 구한 최우추정값 $\hat k_m$과 이 표본을 이용하여 구한 $\hat k$을 비교하여 본 결과 k와 $\lambda$가 직교하는 영역에서 $\hat k$이 $\hat k_m$보다 편기가 작아지는 경우가 있을 만큼 $\hat k$이 효과적이었다.

교통사고예측 및 예방을 위해서는 실제적으로 도로설계과정에서 제어가 가능한 도로 기하구조요소에 대한 사고관계를 파악함이 타당하다. 즉, 도로의 설계자는 도로건설에 앞서 기하구조요소와 사고와의 관계를 현장자료를 통해 정확히 밝혀 도로설계에 반영해야 한다. 이를 위해, 교통사고의 빈도분포를 박히는 것은 가장 기본이 되는 일이며, 교통사고 예측모형개발에 선행되어야 한다. 일반적으로 교통사고건수의 경우 분산이 평균보다 큰 과분산(overdispersion)의 특징을 가지고 있어 음이항 분포를 따른다고 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 사고모형의 개발에 앞서, 사고발생지점에 대한 도로설계요소와 기타 잠재적인 사고발생 관련요인이 비교적 잘 파악되어있는 호남고속도로를 중심으로 평면 선형상 곡선부에 대하여 교통사고의 분포를 적합도 검정을 통해 알아보고자 하였다. 사고자료는 한국도로송사의 호남고속도로 5년(1996∼2000)간 자료를 분석에 맞게 정리하였으며, 강민욱과 송봉수(2002)에서 제시한 평면선형에 있어서의 구간분할법을 이용하여 배향곡선구간과 단일곡선구간에 대한 사고분석을 하였다. 적합도 분석결과, 예상대로 음이항분포가 사고건수를 설명하기에 가장 적합한 확률분포로 제시되었으며, 이를 통해 최우추정법을 이용한 음이항회귀모형을 개발하였다. 구간분할법을 적용한 음이항회귀모형의 경우, 기존의 확률회귀토형에 비하여 높은 결정계수를 갖았으며, 모형에서 적용된 기하구조요소로는 차량 노출계수, 곡선반경, 단위거리 당 편경사변화값 등이다.

For bivariate binomial data with both intra and inter-class correlation, Danaher and Hardie (2005) proposed a bivariate beta-binomial model. However, the model is limited to the situation where the intra-class correlation is strictly positive. Thus it might be seriously inadequate for data with a negative intra-class correlation. Several authors have considered generalized binomial distributions covering a wider range of intra-class correlation which could relax the possible model restrictions imposed. Among others there are the additive/multiplicative and the beta/extended beta binomial model. In this study, bivariate models of the Sarmanov (1966) type are formed by combining each of those univariate models to take care of the inter-class correlation, and are evaluated in terms of the goodness-of-fit. As a result, B-mB and B-ebB are fitted, successfully, to real data and that B-mB, which has a wider permissible range than B-ebB for the intra-class correlation is relatively preferred.
